Chapter 26: Searching for a Robot
At Mewni castle, Marco's group had reunited with Luz, Anne and the others, both sides ready to explain what had happened on their end. They sat together in one of the living rooms, with some refreshments nearby, their choice of either coffee, soda, tea, juice or even water.
"Alright, you first," Marco said, holding a cup of tea. "Anything come up regarding this imposter Luz said that she had?"
"Yeah, we managed to get into contact with her," Luz said, holding a bottle of water. "Her name's Vee, and she's actually a pretty nice girl."
"She is?" Marco asked. "Isn't she, you know, impersonating you?"
"Well yeah, but it's not malicious or anything," Luz confirmed.
"That you know of," Sasha said, pointing with her soda bottle.
"Enough," Luz scolded. "Point is, I don't think she's going to be a threat."
"She's actually here right now," Anne confirmed, the girl with a soda bottle of her own. "She's getting a refill on magic."
"Refill?" Marco asked.
"She's a shapeshifter, her true forms looked like a snake of some sort," Luz said.
"A basilisk, specifically," Amity confirmed, the girl enjoying her own tea.
"Right, what Amity said," Luz stated. "Point is she's going to keep using my form for now to keep my mom company."
"That's an interesting turn of events," Marco said. "You seemed so adamant on bringing her to justice, and now she's supposedly not a threat?"
"We haven't confirmed," Sasha said. "I still say she might be working for Belos."
"I really don't think she is," Luz said. "She hasn't done anything bad yet, and we're still able to keep track of her. If we can do this, all the better. This way my mom won't have to worry about me."
"Wish I had someone like Vee," Anne said. "I don't think Gus is interested in doing more illusions for me."
"There's only so much he can do, even with his magic," Luz said. "But I still think he'd want to help so don't count it out."
"Gus is really nice and doesn't mind helping," Amity said. "Plus it's easier than finding another shapeshifting basilisk."
"Well as long as she's not a threat, then it should be fine, shouldn't it?" Marcy asked, the girl holding a jug of coffee. "Plus maybe later she can be an ally for us. Even if she's not strong enough to fight, having a shapeshifter on our side could let us turn the tide against Belos."
"Sounds like an awesome plan," Sprig said, the boy chugging down some water. "Still, it was quite the adventure."
"How did you even go about getting this girl?" Marcy asked. "Did you just use the scissors and track her down?"
"We played it safe first and used a spell from an old magic book," Luz said. "Once we spotted her and got her alone, we pulled her into Amphibia to talk."
"Part of that talking consisted of Sasha threatening her with her swords," Anne said.
"Hey, gotta be extra careful," Sasha said.
"She's not wrong," Kelly said, the girl having been enjoying her juice. "Can't take chances when it comes to war."
"I'll check on this girl myself later," Marco said. "Just to get an idea of what she's like."
"Same here, I bet she's nice," Marcy said.
"She seems nice," Sprig said. "Turned out to be one big misunderstanding, just like I thought."
"Okay Sprig, we admit, you called it," Luz said. "Now, can you stop bragging about it?"
"I'll take that into consideration," Sprig said, the frog boy smirking confidently at the irritated witch.
"What's this spell like?" Marco asked.
"We go into this weird dimension, and all I have to do is say a name and I can see you from a reflection," Luz said. "For example, if I go here and said 'Marco Diaz', I can see you through anything that casts a reflection. Like a mirror, or window, stuff like that."
"We can easily follow the person too," Anne said. "But that person can still see us, like Vee seeing Luz."
"That's so cool," Marcy said. "So you can see anyone, anywhere?"
"If there's a reflection," Luz clarified.
"That sounds convenient," Marco said. "Wait, does that mean you can use it to check on Belos and Andrias?"
"Theoretically," Luz said. "We could even try it later. Pay Belos back for that spy drone he sent."
"Just don't let the power go to your head," Marco said. "Something like this seems like it could raise quite a debacle."
"Yeah, don't want to be caught in an embarrassing moment," Kelly said.
"Way too late for that," Sprig said. "Why just in there we accidentally saw-"
Amity immediately covered Sprig's mouth with her abomination, further silencing him with a glare that pierced into his soul.
"Uh..." Marco seemed confused. "What was that about?"
"Ignore him, just some silly Sprig stuff," Anne said.
"Right...silly Sprig stuff..." Marco repeated, unsure of what was happening.
"Well anyway, what about you Marco?" Luz asked, trying to move away from the subject. "From the looks of things, Kelly's doing a lot better."
"Yeah, I snapped out of my funk, especially after Marco helped me out regarding my ex-boyfriend," Kelly said.
"Your ex-boyfriend?" Anne asked. "Wait, is that why you were in a funk?"
"Well that and I felt like I've been useless these last two major battles," Kelly said. "But I'm not gonna let it get me down."
"That you shouldn't, you're a damn good warrior after all," Sasha said.
"Woolandia was a pretty interesting place," Marcy said. "Violent too. Some lady tried picking a fight with Marco on the bus."
Amity furrowed her brow upon hearing that, "What lady?"
"I offered my seat to a lady, she took it as a challenge and tried to fight me," Marco said.
"It was funny, but concerning," Marcy said.
"It is a big part of my culture," Kelly said. "My dad tried fighting Marco too."
"Then later we fought a librarian because Kelly's book was late," Marco said.
"They did some cool double team attacks in the process," Marcy said.
"Wow...weird world," Sasha said. "Sounds kind of fun though."
"It was definitely interesting," Marco said.
Seconds later, Eda had come into the room, getting everyone's attention, "Hey, sorry to disturb you kids."
"You're good Eda, what's up?" Marco asked.
"Polly's back, and I think she and King have something to tell all of you," Eda said, then gestured to the two kids, both of them looking a bit awkward, especially the young frog girl.
"Polly, what's wrong? Anne asked.
"I have something to say, and I'm gonna need each of you to promise that you won't totally freak out," Polly said.
Everyone present glance at each other, all of them feeling a bit worried right now.
"Polly, when someone leads with 'Don't freak out', or something like that, it is not a very reassuring feeling," Anne said.
"Yeah, we're more likely to freak out even more," Luz said.
"Okay, so since you're gonna freak out anyway, I won't sugarcoat it," Polly said. "I rebuilt Frobo and he accidentally flew away."
"Frobo? You mean that robot?" Sasha asked. "The one that was destroyed by Andrias?"
"The one that Anne specifically said not to mess around with?" Sprig asked.
"Yeah, I put him back together but he went haywire," Polly said.
"I can't believe it!" Anne shouted in annoyance. "Dang it Polly, you've outfoxed me again!"
This earned her some curious glares, Luz and Marcy finding it funny while everyone else didn't quite get what she just said.
"So...you're not mad then," Polly said.
"Oh don't mistake my whimsical remark for me being chill. I am actually very much ticked off," Anne said.
"Yeah, none of us should be, a robot's loose in LA," Sasha said.
"Polly, how'd you even rebuild Frobo?" Marcy asked.
"I looked up a video on the internet," Polly explained.
Anne face palmed at the response, "This is why I said not to trust the internet."
"To be fair, the girs from the video she was watching seemed pretty legit," King said. "Polly even talked directly to them."
"If they're legit, then why is that robot loose in town?" Sasha asked.
"It's kind of my fault," Polly said. "I think they tried to warn me about turning Frobo on but, I didn't listen."
"So they warned you and you still turned it back on!?" Sprig asked.
"Oh like you wouldn't have done something similar, Sprig," Polly said. "Mistakes happen, don't they?"
"Polly," Anne had to pick her words carefully. Despite her tomboyish nature, Polly was a lot more sensitive than she let on, and Anne didn't want to hurt her feelings. "I...listen, I really don't want to upset you. I get why you wanted to rebuild Frobo. But this is why you need to listen to us more."
"Us? She didn't even listen to those tech girls at the very end," Sasha said.
"Sasha, chill," Marcy said.
"Don't tell me to 'chill', suppose that robot's defaulted to it's factory settings!" Sasha said. "You know, the same ones that take orders from King Andrias! The ones used for world domination!"
"We don't know if those are the factory settings," Luz said. "Maybe factory settings are, I don't know, making yummy pastries?"
"Oh, so that robot flew into town to open up its own bakery?" Sasha sarcastically asked.
"It's possible," Luz said.
"Luz, you're a sweet girl, but you can be really naive," Sasha said.
"To her point, it's best not to make assumptions," Amity said.
"Hey it's better safe than sorry," Sasha said, grabbing her scissors. "So to be safe, I'm gonna hunt down and destroy that robot, so no one's sorry about the damage that's caused."
"Wait! You can't destroy him! I just rebuilt him!" Polly said.
"Without permission," Sasha said. "You gotta follow the rules more kid, be a team player."
"Oh you are NOT going to lecture Polly on being a team player, Miss Double Cross!" King shouted, stepping toward the blonde girl. "You're treading on thin ice when it comes to trust, so don't you try taking the high moral ground!"
Sasha glared at the little demon, "I'm sorry, what was that little dog?"
"I'm not a dog! Use your eyes! Do dogs have skulls for a head!?" King shouted.
"I don't know, maybe in the Boiling Isles," Sasha said. "Still, I'd watch your tone. You know what would happen if you and I did battle."
"Don't you dare, Sasha!" Luz warned.
"It's fine Luz, she doesn't intimidate me," King said, Sasha's glare immediately proving him wrong. "Okay, you intimidate me a little, but don't think that it's gonna waiver my confidence or anything!"
Marco sighed in annoyance, making his way between the two, "Okay, that's enough. Clearly we need to go to Earth and look for the robot. NOT to destroy it, but to try and fix it."
"If it can be fixed," Sasha said.
"It can! We'll make sure we do it right," Marco said. "It may be a robot to you, but to Polly, it's a dear friend, and I think we owe it to Polly to try and find the best solution possible."
"And this is why I like Marco," Polly said, leaping into the boy's arms. "He's a sweetheart who tries his best to make everyone happy, especially girls."
"Uh, it's nothing," Marco said, blushing a bit.
"Okay whatever, we'll do this Marco's way," Sasha said. "But only because I find him to be really sexy when he takes charge."
Marcy gritted her teeth in annoyance while Amity furrowed her brow at Sasha. Luz and Anne could just as well sense the tension out of that line.
"Well Marco certainly is popular with girls," Eda said. "Still, it sounds like you're gonna need a bit of help with this."
"Hardly," Sasha said. "Us youth have this, you can go back to your game of Bingo."
"Sasha!" Luz scolded.
"Oh, clever, kid's got jokes," Eda said. "Watch your tone though, or you're not getting your bedtime story tonight."
"Oh that's cute, at least I have my real teeth in my mouth," Sasha said.
"Not for long if you keep that crap up," Eda warned.
"Sasha, enough, don't pick a fight with Eda," Luz said.
"Yeah, she'll stomp you," Amity teased.
"Oh please, I bet all I need to do is splash some water on her," Sasha said.
"...Seriously, where you do humans get that logic from? Water doesn't hurt witches!" Eda said. "Some of the water back home does, because it's BOILING! Pretty sure that hurts humans too."
"Excuse me, I hate to interrupt, but we do have a situation to attend to," Marco reminded. "Sasha, open the portal to Earth."
"Sure thing," Sasha said, opening up the portal.
"Alright, let's go," Marco said.
"Oh wait, what about Star?" Kelly asked.
"Think she'd want to help?" Marcy asked.
"Actually, we shouldn't bother her," Luz said, the girl blushing a bit. "Lets handle this ourselves."
"Yeah, she's had a long day," Amity said.
"To be fair, we all had a long day," Sprig said. "From the curse being lifted this morning, to Marco and Marcy going to Woolandia, and then Luz finding her clone, I think Star can spend a few minutes while-"
"Sprig, drop it," Anne said.
"Man, you girls freak out over the cheekiest things," Sprig joked. The glare from four angry teens made him regret everything. "Just a joke?"
"Okay, what's going on?" Marco asked.
"Nothing, move your ass," Sasha said.
"Sasha!" Anne scolded.
"He knows what I mean!" Sasha said.
"Um, what?" Marco asked, then found himself being shoved into a portal.
"Let's go, move it!" Sasha said, everyone else going through the portal, Marcy being the last one in.
"What's going on, Sash?" Marcy asked.
"Marcy, friendly advice, while on a Star, there's a chance Marco will be pulled in by a Moon's gravity," Sasha said.
"That makes no logical sense though!" Marcy said before being shoved into the portal.
Sasha took a quick breath, turning around to see that Eda hadn't moved, the witch woman being confused herself.
"So, is there something you want to say?" Eda asked.
"No, catch you later," Sasha said, heading through the portal.
Eda scratched her head in confusion, "Something weird's going on. Eh, I'll worry about it later. Right now I gotta let Hopediah know about his granddaughter's antics."
The young heroes arrived through the portal, in front of of the Diaz Family house, to the confusion of Polly.
"Wait, why are we here? Shouldn't we have gone to Anne's house?" Polly asked.
"My parents would freak out if they saw me coming through a portal like that," Anne said.
"Alright, time to focus," Marco said. "We gotta find that robot. It'd be faster if we split into teams."
"Right, so Marco and I can go," Sasha said.
"Ahem..." Amity said. "Who let you decide that?"
"Well I am the most suited leader here after all," Sasha insisted.
"Says who!?" Amity asked. "Maybe I want to go with Marco?"
"I'm prettier, so I should go," Sasha said.
"And there it is," Anne said. "We're looking for a robot, not setting up for a date!"
"Well this is getting silly," Kelly said. "Alright, since I have more battle experience, I'll take charge."
"I have sixteen years in the Neverzone with Hekapoo by my side," Sasha said. "I have plenty more experience than any of you."
"Sasha, we've all been to the Neverzone," Luz reminded.
"Ugh, just let me split the teams, otherwise we'll be here all night," Kelly said. "Marco, you can go with Luz and Anne. Amity can go with Sasha and Marcy. I'll take Sprig, Polly and King, this way we can search the city faster."
"Sounds like a good idea," Marco said. "I'll take Luz and Anne to Hollywood Hills since that's where Polly was working on her robot. Amity, you and your team can stay in Echo Creek. Kelly, go by Beverly Hills."
"Uh...I don't know where that is," Kelly said.
"Oh right...well, search northeast," Marco said, grabbing his scissors. "Portal time."
"Wait, my parents though," Anne said. "Try to make sure it's NOT in front of my house."
"I got this under control, now let's go," Marco said, taking his team through.
"Well this sucks, I was hoping to get Marco to fall for me," Sasha said.
"Are you freaking kidding me? Focus on the damn mission!" Amity said. "Now let's move."
"Hey, who put you in charge?" Sasha asked.
"Marco did, he told me to watch over Echo Creek with you two," Amity said. "Clearly Marco trusts me to lead."
"I bet you never led anything in your life!" Sasha said.
"Uh, girls," Marcy interjected. "Think we can-"
"Not now!" both Sasha and Amity shouted as they continued to argue.
"...Let them figure it out, come on," Kelly said, leaving with the kids.
A few minutes later, Marco had appeared down the street of Anne's house, the girl looking aside to make absolutely sure her parents did not see her.
"Okay good, I don't have to worry about being busted by my parents," Anne said.
"Anne, you probably are going to have to tell them sooner or later," Marco said.
"Marco, my parents are overprotective, they even gave me a curfew because I slept over the other night," Anne said.
"What is the curfew?" Luz asked.
"7:00pm," Anne said.
"Um...isn't it about 7:00pm? Or close to it?" Luz asked, pointing to the sky. "It's already evening time after all."
"...I should probably go, just to be safe," Anne said, about to leave.
"Anne wait," Marco said, then quickly opened a portal to Mewni's throne room. "Gus! Hey Gus, are you there!?"
"Marco?" Gus said, making his way to the portal entrance. "Oh hey, back out there again?"
"Yeah, busy day," Marco said. "Hey do me a favor and go to Anne's house, we need some illusion magic until we can find a robot."
"Robot?" Gus asked.
"Yeah, long story, just please hurry, she's right down the street," Marco said.
"I promise I won't take long, I'll even buy you a pizza for your troubles," Anne said. "And if you don't like pizza, then I'll get you a taco. I'll treat you to Marco's favorite place!"
"Good tacos there," Marco said.
"Well, honestly Anne, your mother freaks me out a bit, like she's super strict, I'm amazed you grew up with that," Gus said. "But I can handle it if it's for a little while."
"Thanks Gus," Anne said.
"We can always count on the Master of Illusions," Luz praised.
"Hurry please, it's around the time of my curfew," Anne said.
"You got it," Gus said, making a run. "Catch you later!"
Marco thought for a second, "We really should invite Gus, Willow and Maddie on more adventures."
"Yeah, we were really inseparable on the Boiling Isles, then we just started doing our own thing," Luz said. "It feels weird."
"Well I kind of separated from Star for a bit," Marco said.
"And I'm not doing as many adventures with Sprig, he's supposed to be my little buddy too," Anne said.
"...Wait, what are we doing, we gotta go!" Marco said, making a run for it.
"Right, let's haul ass," Anne said, following Marco.
"You got it!" Luz said, following Anne.
With Kelly, she and her team were searching through the streets, Sprig doing his best not to stand out, same with Polly and King.
"Can't believe we forgot our disguises," Polly muttered to herself.
"It's fine, since it's getting late, I don't think that many people are outside," Kelly said.
"That might be another problem, if it's late, wouldn't it be hard to find the robot?" Sprig asked.
"Let's try not to lose hope just yet," Kelly said.
"I can't believe I let this happen," Polly lamented. "I just really wanted to bring back Frobo and this happens."
"You just missed your friend, it's sweet," Kelly reassured. "I know Anne and the others got a little irritated but in the end, we all do reckless things to help our friends."
"Luz does it all the time," King said.
"So does Anne," Sprig said. "We got this under control."
"I hope you're right," Polly said, looking to the skies. "Where are you Frobo?"
Near the beach, Amity finally got her team moving, all of them opting to search the coastline.
"In a place this big, that robot could be anywhere," Sasha said.
"Can't be that hard to find a robot, can it?" Marcy asked. "They tend to stand out after all."
"Especially if they're out of control," Amity said, scanning the area. "I don't think it's here though, let's try deeper into the city."
"You know, a robot like that probably wouldn't be hard to miss, maybe someone recorded it and uploaded it to Social Media?" Sasha said, grabbing her phone.
"Or maybe a news story got a hold of it," Marcy said, doing the same.
"I hope you two know what you're doing," Amity said.
As they were walking, a familiar duo spotted them from nearby, that being Hunter and Cloak-Bot.
"No way, it's that Blight girl," Hunter said. "She's with Marcy Wu and that arrogant blonde."
"Primary objectives re-prioritizing," Cloak-Bot began. "Destroy Amity Blight and Sasha Waybright, and capture Marcy Wu."
"King Andrias would be pretty pleased if we got this done at least," Hunter said. "Come on, let's do it."
Marcy turned around, curiously glancing into the distance, something Sasha after a moment.
"You alright there, Mar-Mar?" Sasha asked.
"Yeah...sorry, I thought I heard someone," Marcy said.
"Keep moving!" Amity called, Marcy snapping out of it and following the witch girl.
Back near Hollywood Hills, Marco had taken the girls to a shopping area, trying to not only see if they could find the robot, but hopefully pick up on any rumors of its location.
"This is going to take us a while," Anne said. "Where could that stupid robot be!?"
"Don't worry, we'll find it eventually," Marco said. "It can't stay gone forever."
"Too bad we don't have a tracking device," Luz said.
"Wait, what about that mirror place?" Anne said. "The one where you say a person's name and you know where that person is?"
"Oh right! We do have that!" Luz said. "But I don't have the materials on me to make the portal again."
"Think it might still be open?" Anne asked. "If it is we just take a portal there, look the name up and voila!"
"That's a great idea, better than mindlessly searching," Marco said. "Okay, let's-"
Suddenly a door opened behind him, knocking him over as a trio of girls stepped out.
"So I was all like, no way and she was like..." the girl turned to see the boy she hit. "Marco Diaz?"
Marco turned to face the cheerleader. "Brittney Wong?"
Indeed it was Brittney with her friends Megan and Chantal. "Whoa, didn't expect to see you after all this time, let alone here of all places."
"I didn't exactly expect to see you here either," Marco said. "What are you doing in Hollywood?"
"Shopping, duh," Brittney said. "What about you? Hoping a movie would cast someone as plain faced as you?"
"Plain?" Luz said in disbelief.
"I'm just here with some friends," Marco said, gesturing to the girls. "Anne and Luz."
"Uh, hi," Anne said. "I'm Anne Boonchuy."
"Luz Noceda," the other girl introduced.
"Hm, something about the girl with the afro looks familiar," Brittney said.
"Huh? It's not an afro," Anne said. "My hair's just really curly."
"Still, I feel like I've heard of you," Brittney said. "Eh, probably not important if I can't remember."
"Well that was a waste then," Anne said.
"Also what's with you?" Brittney asked Luz. "You look like a tourist."
"I'm not an LA Local like Anne and Marco," Luz said. "I'm from the East Coast."
"Oh, that explains the fashion disaster wardrobe," Brittney said, getting a laugh from her friends.
"Hey chill, that's no way to speak to someone," Anne said.
"Sorry, didn't mean to offend you, curly hair," Brittney taunted, getting another round of laughter.
Marco groaned in annoyance, "Anyone ever tell you how much of a...pleasure...it is to be around someone as condescending as you?"
"Yeah, whateves Diaz," Brittney said, taking a look around. "Kind of weird that you'e with these two little girls, where's that Star chick?"
"Back home if you must know," Marco said. "Why do you ask? Still mad that she made you and your friends look bad that day? Apparently your booties weren't attractive enough to distract another team."
"Whoa, burn," Anne said.
"Oh what the hell does she know? She wishes she had my body," Brittney said. "And for the record, she only said that booty comment about Chantal."
"Hey!" Chantal complained.
"Someone's insecure," Anne said.
"Hey, I'm not gonna take that from a twig girl with leaves in her hair," Brittney said. "You look like you came out of the Amazon."
"Anne's a tough girl who can handle harsh environments," Luz said. "I bet you can't even handle camping in your backyard."
"Like I have anything to prove to a skinny armed girl like you," Brittney said.
"Don't be jealous just because Anne and Luz achieve beauty much more naturally than you can with any store brand make-up," Marco said.
Brittney glared a hole through Marco, "You take that back!"
"Make me," Marco said, then took a hard slap to the face.
Luz looked ready to grab a glyph, but Anne stopped her, knowing it could cause a scene. She instead glared at Brittney. "I'm giving you a five second head start."
Brittney looked around in confusion, not sure what Anne meant. "Five seconds for-"
Anne delivered a strong punch to Brittney's jaw, knocking the girl face first to the floor. When she tried to stand, Luz walked over and shoved her back down with her foot, this startling Brittney's friends.
"Don't ever put your filthy hands on our friend, puta" Luz warned.
Brittney struggled to her feet, making her leave, "Come on, let's get out of here!"
Her friends were quick to follow as Luz and Anne both showed off their own personal bird to the trio of girls.
"Glad you girls are on my side," Marco said.
"How's your face?" Luz asked, checking the boy.
"I'm fine, I've had worse than that," Marco said.
"Who the hell was that girl anyway?" Anne asked.
"Brittney Wong, a cheerleader from my high school, and someone who Star often butted heads with," Marco said. "Granted Star didn't really have a lot of personal animosity against Brittney, but it sure wasn't like that the other way around."
"Sounds like this girl's a pain in the butt," Anne said. "Speaking of butts though, what was that about Star saying their own butts weren't attractive?"
"I don't remember the details, I do know that Brittney tended to do what she called 'Booty Shaking Dance Moves' to distract opposing teams during games," Marco said. "Apparently Star thought it was dumb since one, she thought they were preparing for an actual war and not a football game, and two, she didn't think Chantal had an attractive enough butt to pull it off."
"I can say that their butts could have been better looking," Luz said, the girl blushing a bit. "And I've seen some really cute butts."
"Right, totally," Anne said, feeling awkward now and going quiet for a moment.
"Uh, what's with you two all of a sudden?" Marco asked.
Both girls shook it off, trying their best to move on from the awkwardness.
"Never mind, let's just try that place to find Frobo," Luz said. "If that takes too long, I think Eda knows a spell too."
"Alright, let's go then," Marco said.
Back with Amity's team, they decided to search a playground, granted there wasn't much to find.
"Still no sign of that stupid robot," Sasha said. "Think the others have had luck?"
"I hope so," Amity said. "Still, seven teenagers and three kids searching blindly across a city probably wasn't the best idea."
"I hate to have to point this out, but it may not even be in Los Angeles by this point," Marcy said. "It could have flown off to San Francisco for all we know."
"Ugh, that's like 8 hours away by car," Sasha said.
"We don't need a car, we can take a portal," Amity said.
"Even so, we wouldn't even know if it's there, it probably isn't even in California," Marcy said. "It could be anywhere in America, or the world. It might have even left the planet."
"I am not searching the entire universe for one freaking robot," Sasha said.
"Let's just find a better way of going about it," Amity said. "We do owe it to Polly to find the robot."
"Why me? She's not exactly a friend of mine," Sasha said.
"Rude," Marcy scolded.
"Hey if you don't want to help, then go," Amity said. "Marcy and I will find Frobo while you go and screw around elsewhere."
"I don't screw around, I actually protect Wartwood," Sasha said.
"Then go do that, maybe you'll find someone there that would appreciate you," Amity said.
"Yeah, like maybe Edric," Sasha said, earning a glare from Amity.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Amity asked, Marcy already sensing the hostility.
"I'm just saying, your brother's kind of cute," Sasha said, this further angering Amity. "I bet I could make him a very happy guy."
"Crossing the line a bit," Marcy warned.
Amity stopped to take a breath, not wanting to lose her patience, "Sasha, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Marco the object of your affection?"
"Yeah, he is," Sasha admitted.
"So, mind explaining why you're considering going for my brother then?" Amity asked.
"Hey I still want Marco, I just think me and Edric can have a little fun before I ditch him for a real man," Sasha said.
"That does it!" Amity leapt to attack Sasha, the two girls struggling on the ground by a worried Marcy.
"Get off me!" Sasha shouted, kicking Amity off of her. "What's your deal!?"
"My deal? Did you just forget what you said about my brother!?" Amity went in to attack again, the girls struggling in their fight with one another.
"I'm not actually interested in your brother, I was just getting you back for being pain!" Sasha said, pushing Amity away. "I was just making a joke, what you don't have a sense of humor?"
"What the hell kind of joke is that!?" Amity shouted. "This is why no one likes being around you! It's a miracle that Anne and Marcy even like you."
"Uh..." Marcy was getting even more worried and feeling very awkward.
"Marcy likes me because I'm her friend!" Sasha said. "Same with Anne!"
"Well you're a lousy friend if you keep flirting with Marco!" Amity said.
"It's fair game, besides you flirt with him too so don't act like you're so superior!" Sasha said.
"Girls! Enough!" Marcy said. "We have a job to do! If we don't find Frobo, things might get bad!"
"Things are already about to get bad," Came the voice of Hunter, the young man walking over with his Palisman out.
"The Golden Guard?" Amity asked.
"Not you again," Sasha said. "Look kid, we don't have time for your bullshit, we're busy."
"First off, I'm pretty sure I'm older than you, so don't call me 'kid'," Hunter said. "Second, I'm on a mission to defeat you all, you really think I care if you're busy? Now get ready to-" Sasha unsheathed her sword and went in for the attack. "H-hey! I wasn't done talking!"
"Doesn't feel good being interrupted, huh KID!" Sasha shouted, sweeping his legs to knock him over and aimed her sword down. "Now, I lost count, how many times have I beaten you so far?"
"Fight's not over," Hunter said, flashing a cocky smirk as Cloak-Bot appeared behind Sasha.
"Destroy Sasha Waybright," the robot said, about to attack when Sasha leapt away, unsheathing her other sword, ready for more of a fight.
"Good luck trying," Sasha said, going in for the attack.
As Hunter stood up to attack, Marcy stood in front of him, aiming her crossbow. "Stay on the ground."
"I'm good," Hunter said, whacking Marcy in the head, the girl accidentally firing her crossbow upward while Amity used her abomination magic to grab Hunter by the leg and fling him away.
Hunter stood back up and rushed in to attack again, trying to land a blow on Amity but the girl was quick to doge, using her abomination again for offense and knocked the boy away, allowing Marcy to run in for a kick that knocked him down.
Cloak-Bot turned to see the boy in distress, "Capture Marcy Wu. Destroy Amity Blight."
"Oh no you don't!" Sasha leapt to attack but Cloak-Bot turned to knock her away before resuming his pursuit.
"Gonna have to try really hard if you even want to have any hope of killing me!" Amity said, forming her abomination magic around her fists and rushing in to punch the robot in the stomach, then again in the face.
She continued her offense but Cloak-Bot had parried and uppercut Amity away. Marcy appeared nearby and fired her crossbow at its head, though it didn't do much as the robot just resumed his mission.
Cloak-Bot attempted to grab Marcy but she leapt out the way and used the opening to kick the robot, allowing Amity to return and punch it.
"Why does he only want to capture you but kill me and Sasha?" Amity asked.
"I'm not sure," Marcy said. "Just finish it off."
Cloak-Bot grabbed both girls by the neck, slamming them together and tossing Marcy aside while generating a gun out of his shoulder and aimed at Amity. "Terminate."
Fortunately Sasha jumped in to attack from behind, stunning the robot long enough for Amity to send an abomination fist at its head, the robot releasing her and allowing her and Marcy to resume their double team.
Sasha went to attack as well, but Hunter tackled her from behind. "I'm not letting you win again!"
"Some things you can't control!" Sasha said, rushing in and trying to attack with her swords. Hunter blocked with his Palisman, getting a few hits on Sasha, but the blonde ducked and elbowed his stomach and then hit an uppercut to knock Hunter back.
She jumped on the playground equipment and then bounced off to hit Hunter with a flying kick to his face, knocking him over. Sasha brough her swords out, ready to end things.
"I have a message you can give to Andrias and Belos, and don't worry, you don't need to be alive for it," Sasha said, aiming her swords. She swung down but the boy was quick to block with his Palisman.
"The only message I will deliver is your defeat!" Hunter said, keeping the swords away.
Not too far away, Jackie and Chloe were taking a walk together when they heard some fighting.
"What is that?" Chloe asked.
"Not sure, sounds like a scuffle," Jackie said. "Kind of curious, let's go see, but keep your distance."
"Will do," Chloe said, following her friend.
As they got close, they could not believe what they were seeing. Cloak-Bot was battling against Marcy and Amity, the latter using her magic on full display while on the other side, Sasha has Hunter on the ropes.
"No! Hunter!" Jackie said. "Chloe, stay here! I gotta stop that blonde chick."
"Excusez Moi!?" Chloe asked as Jackie ran off. "Jackie, wait up!"
Sasha continued pressing down, though after some time, she kicked Hunter's Palisman away and held her sword up. "End of the road!"
Just then, Jackie had tackled Sasha, knocking her over, "Not cool lady!"
"Jackie?" Hunter asked.
"Hey dude," Jackie helped Hunter up. "What's going on?"
"Wow, I'm glad to see you, but you shouldn't be here, it's dangerous," Hunter said.
"It's fine, I've seen danger before," Jackie said.
"Hey! Who the hell are you!?" Sasha shouted, marching over. "One of Belos's witches?"
"Belos?" Jackie asked.
"My uncle," Hunter reminded.
"Um, I'm not a witch," Jackie said.
"Oh so maybe you work for Andrias, did he get a human girl on his side?" Sasha asked. "No matter, if you're helping Hunter, then you're our enemy."
"I don't know what your damage is, but I am not letting you hurt my friend," Jackie said.
"Sasha!" Amity said, using her Abomination monster to knock Cloak-Bot away. "What's going on?"
"Some chick showed up to help Hunter!" Sasha said.
"Jackie, it's dangerous, you gotta run," Hunter said.
"Chill, I've seen Marco deal with this stuff, it's fine," Jackie said.
"Hold on, did you say Marco? And your name is Jackie?" Marcy asked.
"Hm? You know me? Jackie asked. "Do you know Marco too?"
"If you mean Marco Diaz, then yeah, I know him," Marcy said. "Are you Jackie Lynn Thomas?"
"Jackie Lynn Thomas?" Amity asked, recalling the name. "Wait, this is that girl Marco mentioned? His old girlfriend?"
"You two know Marco?" Jackie asked.
"We all know Marco," Sasha said. "But how do you know Hunter?"
"I met him the other day, he seems chill," Jackie said.
"He's not chill, he's a villain," Sasha said.
Jackie looked to Hunter, then back to Sasha, "You sure about that? He doesn't look evil."
"He is! He's obviously a bad guy!" Sasha said.
"I'm not sure, you kind of look more like a villain than Hunter does," Jackie said. "You were just trying to off him after all."
"He started it! He and his stupid robot!" Sasha said, gesturing to Cloak-Bot struggling against Amity's abomination.
"Hey! You alright buddy!?" Hunter asked, about to run over.
"Hold it," Sasha said, blocking the way. "I'm not letting you go. We're all in a very crappy mood as it is, there's no way in hell I'm letting you leave with all the shit you just tried putting us through."
"Look, whatever's happening, can't you all like, talk it out?" Jackie asked.
"There's no talking this out," Sasha said. "Now stay out of our way. I'll forgive you for being stupid a moment ago, but if you try that crap with me again, I will destroy you!"
Hunter realized this was a ticky situation, now he had Jackie as a potential liability, and he would rather she didn't get hurt. "Alright...I'll surrender."
"Oh, finally learning your lesson? "Sasha asked. "Good, maybe you'll get to live."
"What is with this girl? Is she always this nuts?" Jackie asked.
"Hey! I'm one of the good guys here," Sasha said. "I'm saving the world, so I would appreciate it if you-"
Hunter then used his Palisman to whack Sasha aside, knocking her into Marcy and Amity. He then whacked the abomination away as he jumped on Cloak-Bot's back. "Grab Jackie and run!"
"Affirmative," Cloak-Bot said, speeding in to grab Jackie and taking her as far away as possible.
"Hey! Where'd they go!?" Sasha shouted, the girl grumbling annoyance. "That sneaky son of a bitch! When I get my hands on him and that tramp!"
"I can't believe that was Marco's ex-girlfriend," Marcy said. "Who would have thought we'd run into her like this?"
"We should let Marco know that Jackie seems to be friends with Hunter," Amity said. "She might be in danger."
"Well...it didn't seem dangerous for Jackie," Marcy said. "If anything, it seemed like Hunter just got her out of danger."
"He's still our enemy, we can't exactly trust him," Amity said. "I'm still worried about Frobo but it might be time we called off the search and reunited with Marco. He needs to be briefed on the situation."
"Alright fine, let's go," Sasha said, sheathing her swords. Just as she was about to open the portal, she overheard Chloe talking, the woman sounding a bit angry.
"Jackie is so reckless sometimes," Chloe said, signing in annoyance, then seeing Sasha coming along. "Can I help you?"
"You're friends with Jackie huh? I take it you might know Hunter then," Sasha said, aiming her swords. "Now, start talking."
Nervously, Chloe backed away with her hands up, "Uh...sorry, no English. Je suis Français."
"Don't bullshit me, I heard you speaking English," Sasha said.
"Sasha! Have you lost your mind!?" Amity shouted. "Good guys don't threaten civilians!"
"Hey if she knows something, then I want answers!" Sasha shouted, focused on Chloe. "Spill it!"
"Abomination," Amity said, the monster picking Sasha up and holding her in the air.
"Amity! Tell this ugly sack of shit to put me down, now!" Sasha demanded.
"Oh shut up," Amity said, then focused on Chloe. "I'm sorry about her, but we do need some assistance from you. Would you mind coming with us?"
"Okay..." Chloe said.
Meanwhile, Cloak-Bot and Hunter dropped Jackie off at the skatepark, the girl still feeling very confused.
"Hunter, what just happened back there?" Jackie asked.
"It's a long story, just get home quickly, and try to stay safe," Hunter said.
"Wait, I need to know more than that!" Jackie said.
"I can't tell you, not now, maybe later," without another word, Hunter and his robot sped off.
"Hunter!" Jackie groaned in annoyance. "Just what the crap is going on anyway? This is so weird."
In the special dimension, Marco, Luz and Anne were walking through the pool, using its magic to locate the missing robot.
"Show me Frobo, in Los Angeles California," Luz said, the magic taking her to where it needed to go.
"I hope he's still in LA," Anne said.
"We should be good," Marco said. "At least I hope so."
Within seconds, the robot had appeared in an image, to their dismay, it looked to be in pieces again, and from what they can tell, an explosion had gone off.
"That can't be good," Luz said. "Did someone attack it?"
"No, I think it short circuited on its own," Marco said. "Whatever Polly did to fix it clearly wasn't enough."
"We gotta hurry," Anne said, checking the portal. "Looks like...it's not too far away from my Middle School." She took the scissors and opened a new portal. "Come on, we gotta hurry!"
"Right behind you," Marco said, with Luz following.
The trio passed by Anne's school, the girl taking a moment to gaze at it, a strange feeling coming over her.
"Wow...this school was one of the last places I went to before I got stuck in Amphibia," Anne commented. "I was stuck with that uniform for all that time too."
"Your school had a uniform code?" Luz asked. "I thought only Japan did that."
"Some places here in the states do," Anne said. "My school is one of them."
"I hate dress codes, they're so restricting," Luz said. "I want to be able to wear whatever I want."
"To be fair, you wear the same thing pretty frequently," Anne said. "Actually, so do I. And so does Marco, and Star, and Amity, and Marcy, and Sasha..."
"Girls!" Marco shouted. "Did you forget about Frobo!?"
"Oh crap, you're right!" Anne said.
"We're sorry, we got distracted by freedom restricting nonsense," Luz said.
"And me reminiscing over getting stranded," Anne said.
"Yeah that can happen," Luz said. "I remember shortly before I was gonna go to camp, I saw-"
"FOCUS!" Marco shouted, the girls following him immediately.
In the distance, they found the destroyed Frobo, with Marco and the girls solemnly approaching it and kneeling beside the robot.
"Polly...if she could see this, she'd be heartbroken," Anne said.
Marco picked up the head, feeling a sense of remorse, "Sucks when you can't help your friends."
"Think we can still fix it?" Luz asked. "I don't want to return to Polly with bad news."
"You won't," Came the voice of Ally, the girl holding material startling the trio.
"Where'd you come from?" Anne asked.
"She's with me," Jess said, appearing on the other side, also holding material.
"Please don't do that," Luz said. "You kind of startled us."
"Sorry, not our intention," Ally said, kneeling beside Frobo. "So, you know this robot?"
"Sort of, he belongs to a friend of ours," Marco said. "A sweet girl named Polly, who loved this robot more than anything."
"Yeah, we chatted with her, kind of a small girl," Ally said.
"She's small, but adorable," Marco said. "Oh, I never got your name."
"I'm Ally, and she's Jess," Ally said.
"Nice to meet you," Jess said.
"Welll hi, I'm Marco Diaz," the boy introduced. "These are my friends, Anne Boonchuy and Luz Noceda."
"You girls from around here?" Anne asked.
"Yeah, we've been LA all our lives," Jess said.
"Same here," Anne said. "I live in Hollywood Hills."
"I'm from Echo Creek in Santa Monica," Marco said.
"Wow, that's quite the drive," Ally said.
"Yeah but I'm local compared to Luz here," Marco said.
"I live all the way out in Connecticut," Luz said.
"Whoa! That's on the other side of the country!" Jess said.
"I'm just here visiting some friends of mine," Luz said.
"Well aren't you a loyal friend," Jess said.
"That she is," Marco said, focusing back on the robot. "So...about our friend here."
"Oh right. Well the good news is that this robot can be repaired," Ally said.
"Really? You can fix Frobo?" Anne asked.
"Yes, but it might take some time," Jess said. "Something Polly wasn't too keen on."
"Well, she's gonna have to be patient," Anne said. "I'll make sure she knows that too."
"I think she'll listen," Luz said. "After what happened, it might have been a wake-up call for her."
"Great, we'll get this robot delivered to a base so we can work on it," Ally said.
"How much do we owe you?" Anne asked.
"Owe us? Ally and I have the chance to work on an such an awesome looking robot, that's payment enough!" Jess said.
"We're not in this for the business, just the satisfaction of doing great work," Ally said.
"Plus we make a lot of money off of streams, and this could be a good source of income for us anyway," Jess said.
"Well then, win-win," Marco said. "Do you need help getting this to your storage room?"
"Sure, we'd love the help," Ally said.
"Thanks, and if you ever want some Britta's Tacos, I'll treat you," Marco said as he grabbed a piece of the robot.
"Oh we went there once, great food," Ally said.
"Makes us wanna go back to Santa Monica soon," Jess said.
"Alright, let's get to it," Marco said.
Later on at Mewni castle, Star at the moment just finished helping out Vee with her magical intake, "That should last you some time. A little Boiling Isles magic mixed with Mewman magic."
"Thank you, I really appreciate that," Vee said. "I guess I should head back, Camilla must be so worried."
"Don't worry, the real Luz covered for you and had her friend Gus make an illusion spell to fool Camila long enough to let her think you already went to bed," Star said. "I haven't seen Gus in a while though, guess he went back home."
"I still appreciate your help," Vee said, then noticed some more guests piling in. "Luz!"
"Oh, hey Vee," Luz said, walking over with her team. "You remember Anne, right?"
"Yeah, the one with the great hair," Vee said.
"Oh stop," Anne playfully insisted.
Vee took notice of Marco, "Who's the boy?"
"I'm Marco Diaz, you must be Luz's long lost twin," Marco joked.
Vee got a good laugh out of that, "You're funny. I'm Vee, it's nice to meet you Marco."
"He's one of our best friends," Anne said, placing her arm around Marco. "And one of the most reliable people you could meet."
"I can verify," Star said. "Marco's one of my best friends, and good to get you out of a jam. Or sometimes into one. But still a fun guy nonetheless."
"Geez, you're embarrassing me," Marco said, sheepishly rubbing his head.
"For real, he's a total sweetheart," Luz said, rubbing Marco's head. "Good to talk to if you need someone to listen."
"I'll keep that in mind," Vee said. "Gotta say, you look very handsome Marco."
"Eh-heh...wow," Marco said, bashfully rubbing his head.
"Geez, pretty much all the girls seem to love you," Anne said.
"Except for that tramp Brittney," Luz said.
"Hm? Brittney?" Star asked. "You don't mean Brittney Wong, do you?"
"We ran into her in Hollywood, she was shopping with Megan and Chantal," Marco said.
"Oh yeah, the girls who distract warriors by shaking their tiny booties," Star said, mimicking the motions. "Like seriously, how can a booty distract a person?"
Both Anne and Luz awkwardly turned away while Marco felt strange himself, "Well it depends."
"It depends on nothing. Fact is that its silly," Star said. "First lesson about humans Vee, they're kind of weird sometimes."
"Hey!" Marco, Anne and Luz shouted.
"I'm joking," Star insisted. "No frowny faces here."
Marco grumbled a bit, "Well you're starting to act like your old perky self again. Are things getting better with you and your mom?"
"She's making progress," Star said. "So how were things on Earth? I heard something about a robot."
"Yeah, long story," Marco said.
They heard another portal opening and turned to see Marcy stepping through, "Oh good, you're here."
"Hey Marcy, did you meet Vee?" Marco asked, gesturing to the girl.
"Oh no, not yet," Marcy said. "Hi, I'm Marcy Wu!"
"Nice to see you," Vee said.
"Anyway, Marco, Sasha brought a girl into your house, she really needs you to speak to her," Marcy said.
"A girl? Wait, she's not trying anything funny, is she?" Marco asked.
"No, it's pretty serious," Marcy said.
"Well, alright," Marco said. "We just need to wait for Kelly, and Polly. We found out information about Frobo."
"Oh great, is he alright?" Marco asked.
"No, but don't worry, he'll get better," Marco said.
"That's great," Marcy said. "I'll go get them then, I just have to find them."
"I can find them," Star said, generating a mirror. "You go on ahead."
"Thanks Star, you're the best," Marcy said. "Marco, Anne, Luz, lets hurry."
"Catch you later Vee," Marco said, waving good-bye with the girls.
"Bye Marco," Vee said as he left. "Nice boy."
"He is, isn't he?" Star said. "When I first went to Earth, he was the first friend I made. I also had to stay in his house."
"Did you run away too?" Vee asked.
"No, I was a foreign exchange student," Star said. "My parents wanted to show me life outside the castle and Marco was assigned to watch over me because he's naturally cautious, even if he kept denying it. He thought it made him look uncool."
"I can't see how, it sounds like your parents trusted him," Vee said. "It's good to have someone you can trust."
"Yeah, but Marco's a tough guy, he doesn't like to admit when he's a softie," Star said. "Might be a guy thing. Boys are expected to be strong after all."
"If he's trusted to watch over and protect you, I think that makes him very strong," Vee said.
"Yeah, I think so too," Star said, spotting something on her portal viewer. "I'll be right back, I gotta talk to Kelly."
"Okay..." Vee said. As she waited she spotted Eda speaking to Hop Pop not too far away. "I remember seeing her picture back in town, she's probably the most popular witch on Earth, assuming they know she's a witch. Wonder what her story is?"
Back in Echo Creek at the Diaz house, Marco had gone into his living room where Sasha and Amity were waiting with Chloe. "Hey, I'm back."
"Oh good, maybe you can talk to this girl," Sasha said, gesturing to Chloe.
"Uh, hi, do I know you?" Marco asked.
"No, but I know of you," Chloe said.
"You know of me?" Marco asked.
"I heard about you from Jackie," Chloe said.
"Jackie?" Marco asked. "You mean Jackie Lynn Thomas?"
"We ran into her earlier," Marcy said. "Gotta say, she's really pretty."
"Oh well, yeah," Marco bashfully admitted. "Still, how did you run into her?"
"Well for starters, she knocked out Sasha," Amity said.
"She didn't knock me out, she snuck up and attacked me while I was fighting Hunter!" Sasha said.
"Hunter?" Luz asked. "Wait, you ran into him?"
"And that robot too," Amity said. "They came after us, so we brought the fight to them."
"What's this about Jackie attacking Sasha?" Marco asked.
"Well for starters, it seems like Hunter and Jackie are friends," Amity said.
"It is true," Chloe said. "Jackie met Hunter zee other day. He was looking for a book, Cynthia Coven."
"Oh I love that book!" Marcy said.
"Marcy, later," Amity said, then focused on Chloe. "Go on."
"Right, so he met us again this morning, she shared her pretzels with him and he joined us at zee skate park," Chloe said. "He left when he saw something strange, then later Jackie is fighting this blonde girl."
"Did he talk about what he was up to?" Anne asked.
"He just said he works for his Uncle and a friend of his," Chloe said. "What is happening?"
"Hunter...he's the nephew of an evil Emperor who wants to take over our world," Marco said. "His friend's a ruthless King who wants to conquer dimensions."
"So...Hunter is evil then?" Chloe asked. "And so is his robot?"
"Exactly, Jackie is aiding a villain," Sasha said. "Honestly, she might be a hostage."
"Hold it, "Luz said. "I know Hunter's loyal to Belos, but I really don't think he'll hurt Jackie."
"You can't be serious," Sasha said.
"Look, when he and I were in Latissa, he didn't seem all that bad to me," Luz said. "He seemed more confused than anything."
"You were in Latissa?" Amity asked.
"Yeah, it was sometime before I got stuck in Amphibia but one of the last things I did was get stuck in Latissa with Hunter," Luz explained. "Point is that he just seemed more confused than bad. Like, maybe he just needs a friend."
"What a load of crap," Sasha said. "Luz, he's a villain, he's working with Belos and Andrias, don't make excuses for him."
"I'm not, I'm trying to see this from an objective standpoint," Luz said.
"Honestly, he didn't seem so bad to me either, it just seems like he has had it rough," Chloe said.
"He ran off with Jackie though," Sasha said. "How do you know she's not in danger?"
Chloe pulled out her phone and dialed a number, placing it on speaker.
"Hello?" Jackie answered. "Chloe, are you there?"
"Jackie?" Marco asked.
"...Marco? Marco Diaz?" Jackie asked. "Whoa, am I really hearing your voice?"
"You are," Chloe confirmed. "I was just telling Marco about what happened."
"Oh yeah, some dude named Hunter was here and fought some girls, including some violent blonde chick," Jackie said.
"Who the hell are you calling violent!?" Sasha shouted.
"Sasha, enough!" Amity scolded.
"Jackie, I'm sorry for whatever happened to you," Marco said.
"It's cool, I was confused though, kind of need answers from you," Jackie said.
"You'll get them," Marco said. "Where's Hunter?"
"He left," Jackie said. "Who exactly is he?"
"Some confused kid, I'll tell you tomorrow," Marco said. "Be safe."
"I'll be fine dude," Jackie said.
"Bye Jackie," Chloe said, then hung up. "There, she is safe."
"For now," Sasha said.
"Look, I'll ask Star to keep an eye on her, like she's doing with Vee and Mrs. Noceda," Amity said. "Now, it's late and I think we should get some sleep because this was too long of a day."
"Got that right," Marco said. "Chloe, can I walk you home?"
"No, I can manage, thank you Marco," Chloe said, making her leave.
"I should get home too," Anne said.
"Wait, what about Kelly?" Luz asked.
"I got her," Star said, coming in through a portal with Kelly, Polly and Sprig.
"Oh good, you're here," Amity said. "We need a favor, it involves a girl named Jackie Lynn Thomas."
"Whoa, that's a name I haven't heard in relevancy for a while," Star said as Amity followed her back through the portal.
"So...anything about Frobo?" Polly asked.
"Well, it's like this," Marco said, kneeling in front of the girl. "When we found him, he was a wreck. Badly damaged because despite your best efforts, it wasn't the best done job."
"Aw..." Polly lamented. "I did my best though."
"I know, that's important," Marco said, rubbing her head. "Fortunately, we ran into Ally and Jess, they're gonna fix him, but it's going to take some time. I'm gonna need you to be patient, can you do that for me, Polly?"
The tadpole girl nodded her head, "Yeah, I won't rush it anymore, or take shortcuts. I just want Frobo back."
"You'll get him back, and we'll be there to help," Marco said. Polly jumped into Marco's arms, hugging the boy.
"Thanks for looking for him, it means a lot," Polly said, leaping back down.
"Anything for an adorable girl like you," Marco said, winking at the girl.
"Oh stop..." Polly playfully insisted.
"Yeah seriously, knock it off," King warned.
Polly giggled to herself, "Oh my frog, are you jealous King?"
"...No," King insisted.
"Aw, you know you're the man for me," Polly said. "I like Marco, but he's more like the big brother I've always wanted."
"I'm standing, right, HERE!" Sprig shouted.
"Alright, lets get you to bed so I can go home," Anne said, helping the kids along.
"I'll go and see if Vee needs my help," Luz said, going through the portal.
"I'm tired too, gonna hit the hay," Star said, following Luz.
"How long is Vee's magic gonna last?" Luz asked.
"Probably a week, she'll need doses," Star said as she closed the portal.
"I'm going back to Wartwood," Sasha said, stomping away through a portal of her own.
"I'm gonna go stay at my place, just to check on Edric and Emira," Amity said.
"Be careful, you're still wanted by Belos," Marco said.
"I'll be fine," Amity said, making her leave. "Bye everyone."
"I'm going back home too, catch you later," Kelly said, making her own leave.
One by one, everyone left until it was just Marco and Marcy.
"So...what a day huh?" Marcy asked.
"Yeah, I need sleep," Marco said. "Still, surprised you met Jackie. I didn't think she'd get caught up in this again."
"Well hopefully I can introduce myself to her more properly tomorrow," Marcy said. "Despite everything, I can tell she's really nice."
"Yeah, Jackie's a great girl," Marco said. "I was so sure we were gonna last, but I guess not."
"Things happen," Marcy said. "How are you feeling emotionally? Like, you got the curse lifted, any other major changes?"
"No, not really," Marco said. "My feelings for Star are...well, they're much weaker."
"Guess time will tell," Marcy said, the girl feeling awkward. "Do you agree with what Kelly said? About Destiny and Fate? And what it means for love?"
"I believe that sometimes, you gotta do what your heart tells you," Marco said. "And not be afraid to take a chance."
"...I'm happy to hear you say that," Marcy said. Suddenly she placed a kiss on Marco's cheek, taking the boy by surprise. "If it's meant to be, I'll be waiting for you."
Marcy made her leave, the girl's face very red as Marco had a lot to think over. While it was recently that he and Marcy broke up, it feels like forever. Fortunately, it seems like she was ready to get back with him. Part of him wanted to take Marcy into his room, make that girl his once again. But he knew to not rush it, because despite her permission, he could tell she needed to warm up to the idea a little. When he was confident, he would take her back.
First thing was first, he had to make sure his feelings for Star, or any other girl for that matter, were not going to cause more drama. He wouldn't do anything until he was sure, and that was a main priority for him now.
Marco was determined to ensure his Happily Ever After with Marcy would come to a reality.
