Chapter 20: Enri Emmot saved by Ainz
However, all that ended just a few weeks ago. She simply woke up, not inside the Miledi Golem, not inside the Reisen Labyrinth, but lying in a forest near Heiligh.
At that moment, she believed it was an illusion, a dream, or rather, a nightmare, something that threatened to bring darkness back to her world. So she simply sat up, her youthful face showing weakness, her eyes blinking constantly, and her somewhat calm breathing was all there was.
It was simple, just her facing a new world, hundreds of years later, the Reisen family long since wiped out, and so, as a remnant of the past in the present, she felt... strange.
She walked through the forest for a while, observing Heiligh, observing that there were new heroes summoned from another world, although she only observed from a distance. After all, she had become an ordinary human again, not even a drop of magic running through her veins.
Then she simply sighed, nostalgia and a feeling of loss overwhelming her, but despite all that, despite not finding an answer to the recent disappearance of her magic and the Reisen labyrinth, an idea was etched into her mind like a tattoo.
"There is a person in the Re-estize kingdom, the owner of a strange shop with exorbitantly expensive products. He is the culprit."
The thought was engraved in her mind, and she decided to find out who this person was.
...
Miledi sobbed, tears rolling down her cheeks as she lowered her head. How could she express it? She simply remained there, bound hand and foot and subdued by Dyne, remembering the past with nostalgia.
Then, after a moment, Miledi raised her head. "You're as ugly as Oscar," she murmured, then a mocking smile formed on her face.
Matt smiled, licking his lips before raising his hand again. "Kyah!" Miledi made a slight sound with her mouth as she tilted her head, moving her nose away from Matt's hand. However, the man simply placed his hand on her head, patting her gently.
"Go back to your parents, girl," Matt smiles before easily untying the ropes that bind Miledi's hands with one hand. Matt then stands up straight, walks to a bookcase at the back of his shop, and pulls out a book the size of a Bible but half an inch thick.
Matt then walked over to Miledi to place the black-covered book in her hands. "Here, this is a little gift, Okay?" Matt smiled, causing Miledi's eyes to widen like two saucers.
Before Miledi, the figure of Oscar Orcus, wearing glasses and a butler's uniform, overlapped Matt's.
Miledi's hands touch the book, and her eyes light up, her mind goes into a chaotic state, her body feels as if small strands of sharp blades are running through her veins.
As she blinks, the world in front of her changes, her eyes see countless images passing before her, a beautiful world, a beautiful city flying high in the sky, Gravity magic? She squints her eyes.
In front of her appears a man with long white hair, beautiful robes like those of a priest, and a staff with a white gem on top. The man is riding a beautiful white and brown steed.
"I hope you're worth it!" he says, in a slightly arrogant but pleasant voice. He introduces himself as Antonidas, the most powerful mage in Dalaran.
Then, the mage began to cast several different spells: teleportation, a powerful charge spell, mana recovery, healing, etc.
Miledi's body tingled with a particular excitement, a lewd smile appeared on her face as her flushed cheeks watched, her astral body witnessing a one-of-a-kind magic.
She blinked, and once again found herself in Matt's tent, but this time, there was something different about her. Her eyes, once filled with various different feelings, now showed only total admiration for the man in front of her.
Soon, Lukrut untied Miledi's feet, and then the girl knelt on one knee in front of Matt, "Thank you for the gift, My lord," the girl's sudden actions took everyone by surprise.
Matt tilts his head slightly, but a smile appears on his face. "So, You came to my shop just to cause a scene and get something for free?" he murmurs.
Miledi, about to say no, simply closed her mouth. For some reason, the recent respect and admiration for Matt that had arisen in her heart prevented her from doing so, and she simply nodded her head.
"Bad girl," Matt murmurs before patting Miledi's head as if he were petting a cat. The girl simply pushes her head slightly against his hand while making a soft sound.
"Hmph, why does Matt seem to have so much luck with girls?" Lukrut murmurs in a somewhat low voice.
On the outskirts of Re-estize.
"Is this really safe?" Ainz Ooal Gown asks.
"Lord Ainz, believe me, this is safe, besides, besides," Albedo blushed, "it's necessary, very necessary, yes, hehehe" the succubus began to murmur some things under her breath.
"Hey, Why are you so hot?" Ainz was curious, he moved his hands slightly, causing the succubus to moan, but this did not stop him.
There was a brief moment of silence in which Albedo simply felt the closeness of her master. Both of them, in a small cabin, watched with curiosity as a young girl lay on an old bed.
"She's running a temperature. Please, Albedo, don't move her. My magic is enough to keep her in bed," Ainz Ooal Gown smiled inwardly.
Although he had lost the ability to feel empathy for his former race, that did not mean he enjoyed killing, at least not for the moment. Ainz extended one of his skeletal hands to touch the hologram in front of him.
A moment later, a small red potion appeared in his hands. "Yggdrasil's recovery potion, it should work..." Ainz spilled a drop onto the lips of the girl who appeared to be dead, her two eyes lighting up with a strange, macabre light.
Albedo, not far away, watched with curiosity. She had suggested killing the girl when they found her unconscious in the forest, but Ainz, noticing something strange about the girl, decided to simply take her to an abandoned cabin to heal her.
The girl on the bed, Enri Emmot, slowly opens her eyes, her eyes narrowing as her blank expression soon comes to life.
She carefully sits up on the bed, suffering from a headache and constant dizziness. A moment later, she raises her head with slight anxiety. "My family!" she cries, almost jumping out of bed if it weren't for her weak legs.
"Ahem, hello, you see, my name is..."
"Where is my sister?" Enri interrupts Ainz's introduction, causing Albedo to frown, "Insolent daughter of a..." Albedo, covered in black and purple armor, is stopped mid-sentence by Ainz.
Enri Emmot paid no attention to Albedo's words, not because she wasn't interested, but because her mind was completely focused on remembering everything that had happened to bring her to that cabin.
"My name is Momon, a man who travels the world. May I know your story?" Ainz asks, curious.
The eyes beneath his warrior's helmet shine with some intensity. After all, the magic he felt in Enri Emmot's body had been the same magic that Hiyama used against Albedo back then.
"Well, no, actually, it's not the same, but they are similar," he thinks, so given this familiarity, there are only two possibilities: the girl on the bed is either Hiyama's slave or someone who was infected by Hiyama's magic.
Enri Emmot seems to have realized her situation. She swallows, raises her head, and looks at the two people completely covered in dark armor. She narrows her eyes a little, trying to see through the slit in the man's helmet, but she is unsuccessful.
"Hmph," she makes a slight noise with her mouth, sighs, and, with her heart beating rapidly from her sudden awakening, begins to tell her story.
"I was waking up one morning, a quiet day, ready to collect milk from some goats and make some cheese with Mom, and yet..." She narrows her eyes, her body begins to shake, her eyes become bright, and her hands quickly go to her head.
"I didn't see it coming, it was like a flash of strange light, from one moment to the next there were warriors from Re-estize massacring the village, they cut off old Han's head, they took little Emili away, and..." her voice breaks, she seems unable to continue the story, then she lets out a slight cry.
There was a brief moment of silence. Ainz raised his right hand, ready to pat Enri on the shoulder, to calm her down or perhaps comfort her with a few words, but he stopped. The girl spoke again.
"And then my whole world became confused. I was... I mean, it wasn't me. I began to care little or nothing about the deaths of my friends and family. I followed Sir Hiyama to a hidden mountain in Re-estize, where he began to build a base," Enri Emmot said, narrowing her eyes at the unpleasant memories.
"It was appalling, I had never seen such a degree of... corruption. The other villagers who survived and followed Hiyama mutated, some became wrinkled old men with white skin and covered in black tunics," Enri recalls with fear.
"Others simply ceased to have physical bodies, some more became grotesque skeletons, and others became necromancers, consumed by Sir Hiyama's undead magic," she finished.
There was another brief moment of silence as Ainz Ooal Gown looked at Enri, weighing what she had just said and silently judging her.
"Isn't this a way to build a base like he and his friends did in Nazarick?" Ainz thought, fully convinced that Hiyama was a player from the same world as him.
