Chapter 28: Pt.4 27: The Myth and MG Boss
A hectic schedule went on for the CEO as she went back and forth between her two growing companies, but as soon as she came back, Vincencio was waiting at her office. Somehow she was not surprised to see her husband stay after his shift.
"Still here, I see." Skylar greeted her husband as soon as she entered her office.
"Just wanted to see you before I head home," Vincencio responded as he went to his wife and held her before kissing her shoulder.
"I know you're going to miss me, and so am I." Amused, Skylar wrapped her arms around his neck and pecked his lips.
"Can you not take all-nighters again?" he hoped, making Skylar chuckle while shaking her head.
"Sorry, Hubby. I might be a CEO, but it doesn't free me from not doing all-nighters like my employee does in the production." She apologized as she reasoned with him as well.
"Fine, if you say so, but can I have something that smells like you? Like your coat?" he gave up and oddly wondered.
"Okay, but why?" She removed her coat and handed it to her husband as she wondered.
"So I could sleep with it." With confidence, Vincencio grinned as he inhaled that natural scent of his wife on her coat. Skylar shakes her head amusingly.
"He's becoming odder by the day, and I'm not complaining. He's cute in his way," Skylar thought fondly before responding to him. "Hubby, are you sure you're a man and not a clingy woman?"
"Well, I am a man but a little clingy to his lovely wife." He grinned and captured her lips one more time.
"Touché," she whispered between their kisses, which turned into a heated one until Skylar pulled away before looking deeply into his eyes. "Hubby, when will you be ready to take me?"
"Why, you ask? Are you going to give it to someone else? Is there someone else? I'll kill whoever that bastard is." Surprised, Vincencio quickly asked as his blood began to boil protectively. Skylar was amused.
"Hubby, easy. I'm just asking, and I'm not going to cheat on you. That's the last thing I'll do in my life. I don't want to cheat. It made me feel disgusting." Skylar slightly chuckled and cleared her intentions when she asked that.
"Okay, but why ask?" he sighed and wondered.
"I'm just wondering, when are we going to have a baby?" Shyly, she responded, making Vincencio blush while grinning.
"In time, Wifey. Maybe after we shared our secrets, or perhaps sooner than you think." He pecked her lips before dearly kissing her temple.
"Tricky, but I'll take that word. You better keep your chastity secured." She firmly demanded, making him laugh.
"Shouldn't I be telling you that?" he teased.
"We both do." She chuckled, making them lean their foreheads against each other.
"Okay, I'll take my leave now. Please stay safe, and give me a call whenever you need me." Vincencio kissed her temple once more, prompting Skylar to nod before he whispered his affection, "I love you."
"I love you too." Softly, Skylar reciprocated and watched Vincencio leave her office. "Secrets…that's what's holding us back from being one entirely, but just wait a little bit more, Hubby; I'll give my all just to keep you with me."
"Boss, are you decent?" Medina teasingly asked her boss as she peeked in the door.
"Med, we didn't do anything here." Annoyed, she rolled her eyes while fixing her remaining things on her desk.
"I thought you already banged." She teased more, making Skylar sigh.
"He won't because of our secrets, remember?" she reminded her secretary.
"Oh, right." She finally recalled before reminding her about the personal meeting at her penthouse. "We have a meeting upstairs."
"I know that's why I'm staying." She coldly responded as they left the office and headed to her old penthouse.

After the CEO's shift in her company, Skylar and Medina went up to the penthouse to talk about something personal, but as soon as they entered the penthouse, they didn't expect to be welcomed by a chaotic mess. Some displays were broken on the floor; paintings were ripped or had fallen from the wall, and her couch was covered with feathers. Skylar had never seen a disaster like this in her life. She may not be good around the house, but she knows how to keep things tidy and not messy.
"What a mess," Skylar commented flatly on the mess around her old penthouse's living area.
"JOEY!" Medina furiously shouted, and, like on cue, there were stumbling and panicking footsteps rushing to the penthouse's living area.
"SAVE ME!" Joey exclaimed in fright as soon as he saw them standing in the living area. He even hid behind Medina. "She's awake and starving."
"Blood." On cue, a super pale teenager came into view with bloody red eyes, drooling, and fangs were extracted. "I need blood."
They were horrified and could not move from their spot; however, Skylar felt a shift in her. Yes, she jumped over the sudden appearance of a disoriented young lady with the crumpled face of a vampire bat, but she was exposed to any gruesome scenario, and this one is no different. She removed her dark eyeglasses and folded her sleeves before standing with an unreadable expression before them. To her, it was her killer instinct beyond compare, a psycho, but somehow, to a hungry vampire lady, she was a monster.
"W-what a-are y-you?" the young vampire stuttered as she grew wary of Skylar's deadly presence, causing her to halt midway in the hall.
"You tell me," Skylar replied coldly as both stared at each other, cautiously, making them feel strangely connected.
The undescribable connection spreading between their fixated gazes swirled gently like a serene nature. Calming, relaxing and wrapping like a magnetic field that has been pulling them together and binding with unbreakable blood bond that only occur between a master and a turned one. However, Skylar had no single idea about it.
"W-who are you?" Curiously, the young vampire wondered. She felt strongly familiar with Skylar even though this was their first meeting.
"You're a vampire; you can read things, right?" Skylar coldly mocked.
"I know who I am, but who are you?" The young vampire responded curiously as her distorted face slowly calmed and asked about Skylar's scent difference from her friends. "You smell different from those humans behind you."
"Smell? What smell? I'm not wearing any perfume." Skylar asked confusedly since she hadn't been wearing any cologne or perfume.
"I'm talking about your natural scent, your blood. Both were different, yet one." With narrowed eyes, the vampire responded honestly.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Skylar might not understand it, but part of her somehow felt it was true and changed the subject before the vampire fed from them. "Come, I'll get you something."
"Name. What's your name?" the vampire asked as she followed Skylar to the kitchen like they had known each other for a long time. The sudden danger a while ago suddenly vanished as the teenager skipped like a kid following her mother.
"Skylar. I'm Mrs. Skylar Saison-Monsour, and you?" Skylar introduced as she grabbed a silver jug from the fridge before pouring very thick blood into a glass and giving it to her. "Why does she feel familiar? And why do I desire to protect her?"
"I'm Irina Real Draven. I'm from the Draven household, the youngest baroness if I'm around royalties, but Irina is enough." She introduced herself back as she accepted the glass filled with animal blood and drank it. "Hm, this fresh blood from cows, it tastes good."
"Good, your tone is coming back." She noticed with a nod.
"But not quick to replenish the blood I lost." Irina finished the glass and answered with familiarity with Skylar. "Human blood could do the trick, but noble vampires like me quickly heal if they feed from their soulmates, lovers."
"And have you found yours?" Curiously, Skylar wondered like an intrigued mother, making Irina gulp subconsciously.
"Ahm, just now." Softly, Irina secretly glanced at Medina before looking down like a shy kid. Skylar and Joey noticed it.
"Medina, feed her with your blood." Joey teased, earning a painful punch over his stomach.
"Say that again," Medina firmly demanded, and Joey was about to do it again when Skylar interjected.
"Fingertips, Medina. Let her feed from it so she can heal quickly," Skylar commanded firmly.
"But I…" Medina tried to make some excuse, but seeing cold demand from Skylar, she gave up and whined. "Argh, why does it have to be me?"
"Soulmates," Joey teased, making Medina glare before poking her finger.
"It's okay, you don't have to…" Irina tried to decline, but her eyes glowed in deep bluish-white—like snow upon smelling Medina's blood.
"Feed, before I change my mind," Medina offered while feeling embarrassed.
"Are you sure? Once I tasted your blood, you can't get rid of me without breaking me." Irina asked softly as she gently grabbed Medina's hand, sending shivers down her spine.
"You talk too much. Just feed." Medina ignored the effect by being harsh as she looked away, trying to hide the blush on her cheeks.
"Then, thank you." Softly, Irina whispered and took Medina's blood over her mouth, causing some soft moans to escape from Medina. Irina sucked and licked her fingers, which to Medina looked sensual, but to others it was normal. "You're mine, Medina. Remember that."
"Possessive." Medina rolled her eyes and wiped her fingers as soon as Irina was done feeding. Irina was amused.
As she previously stated, a mate's blood swiftly restored what a noble vampire had recently lost. Her attractive beauty appeared, and Medina's heart rate rose, making her body extremely hot. She quickly left her work tablet with Skylar and took a cold bath.
"She felt it. Our bond." Amused, Irina smiled as she watched Medina's retreating vanish at the corner. Then she seriously turned to Joey before speaking. "And you, boy. Call your mate. Tell her, I'm fine and in your custody."
"You know my wife?" Joey wondered in surprise.
"Of course. That's why you managed to create this…DNA Identifier." She grinned but quickly flinched when she sensed a very deep stare coming from Skylar. "W-what?"
"I must keep her safe, like my gut is telling me to," Skylar thought before she coldly responded. "Nothing, but now that you're replenished, rest, and don't leave the penthouse without telling us where you are going."
"But I have an apartment," Irina reasoned.
"How safe is it for a vampire?" With an arched brow, Skylar coldly wondered, making the vampire sigh in defeat. Skylar's different vibe made Irina, a vampire, could not even win.
"Er, fine, I'll stay here, but can I get my things and tell my landlord I'm leaving?" With a pleading tone, Irina hopefully asked.
"Joey, assist her," Skylar commanded as she walked from the kitchen. "I'll be in my room."
"Is she always like this, demanding?"
"Yeah, but she'll keep you safe in return for your loyalty and trust."
"Wow."
"Joey. Irina. I can hear you and move now. Be back here before I leave." With a sigh, Skylar coldly reminded them and headed to her bedroom.
"Noted, Boss. Let's go and pick up your things." Joey responded and pulled Irina out of the penthouse in a hurry.

Meanwhile, Skylar went to her secluded office in her previous penthouse, which was stocked with the same devices and weaponry she had back in their house. The difference was that it was more spacious and bigger.
"Now, let's check who you are, MG Boss." With a sinister grin, Skylar mumbled as she opened the notification Medina showed her earlier during work with Vincencio. But opening it, surprisingly it was filled with less information than what she was expecting, making her grin grow wide. "Interesting."
Midnight Guardians (MG)
Founder: Unidentified
Leader/Boss: MG Boss
Code: Night Hound
Work Detail/s: MG was founded only for cartel shipment transactions and security purposes.
Remarks: Always on track and never fails to meet the end of the bargain. But MG chooses wisely who to transact with or who to secure; that's why they were known for their clean job.
"Hm, short, but since the siblings worked for them, this info would be enough for now, and let's see if we could work together in the future at night. But their leader's mysteriousness tells something else…" Sinisterly grinning, Skylar chuckled like she found something to have fun with but never to mess with. "…amusingly fascinating. I want to know them more."
