Mr. & Mrs. Saison-Monsour: The Mafia & The Slayer Married Life

Chapter 21: Pt.3: 20: Getting Territorial

The party continued with a brief program, but once the announcements and presentations concluded, the businesswomen and businessmen dispersed throughout the room, engaging in conversation. They discussed business matters and forged connections to promote their companies' growth. Others, like Skylar, concentrated on gathering information, a habit she had embraced since learning about it.

"Wifey, can I pluck their eyes from staring at you like that?" Vincencio softly whispered again; however, there was venom in his tone, making Skylar chuckle sweetly.

Skylar may be the typically cool and intimidating CEO she has always been, but the dress transformed her into a piece of art. Adorning her head was a delicate moonstone jade crown wrapped gracefully around her hair. Her makeup was simple yet striking, enhancing her beauty despite the red lace mask that concealed her scar and accentuated her cat-like eyes. She wore a two-layered gown made of flowing, bloody chiffon and satin, featuring off-shoulder long sleeves and a deep V-neckline highlighting her exquisite figure as the fabric cascaded elegantly to the ground. The gown was not only elegantly designed but also featured intricate details, such as fiery rose petals cascading from her right bosom and swirling down the edge of the gown. A high slit on the right side revealed her strong, toned leg with each step she took in her killer two-inch heels.

She was a strong-looking woman in her gown, making both men and women drool with envy at her mysterious beauty.

"Well, I can't argue because I'll do the same for you, Hubby. So don't show that charming smile; they might swoon over you, and I hate to kill them with my heels." Skylar chuckled amusingly as she fixed her husband's moonstone rose lapel on his suit.

Vincencio's simplicity has been overshadowed for tonight's gathering; he has taken on an intimidating presence, much like his wife. He remained a charming man, even though his smile was only fleeting. He appeared as a work of art alongside his wife, complimenting her elegance with a harmonious blend of colors, moonstone jade, and detailed embroidery. However, Vincencio's Victorian suit, which has no tie, exuded an air of danger beside his wife.

"Fair enough, but even ladies swoon over you, Wifey." With a sigh, he softly added, making Skylar chuckle.

"I know so better to watch me." She pecked her husband's lips before whispering. "We've got company."

"Argh, can someone I know appear instead of them?" He softly complained, making Skylar shake her head over the adorable whine of her husband.

"Suck it up. You're married to a businesswoman." Skylar slightly pinched his side before meeting another pair of businessmen.

"Mrs. Skylar, glad I caught up with you." With familiarity, a businesswoman and client approached the couple.

"Mrs. Rayne Stehlik, how are you?" With a genuine smile, Skylar greeted the woman with the same familiarity.

"Perfect, and thank you for doing business with me. My wife has been your fan. So, I'm hoping for our partnership to stand strong." Mrs. Rayne sincerely thanked Skylar with a friendly shake of hands.

"It will." She chuckled before introducing her husband to one of her trusted business partners that she befriended. "Anyway, Hubby, I would like you to meet Mrs. Rayne Stehlik, one of my business partners who franchised the restaurant quality from Sky Lux Hotel & Gallery Restaurant. Mrs. Rayne, this is my husband, Vincencio Saison-Monsour."

"Please to meet you." He politely shakes hands with her when he notices the man beside her staring at his wife. "And sir, can I know your name?"

"Oh, pardon me. I'm lost to your mysterious beauty. I'm Mr. Harper, Seo Kim Harper from SKH Entertainment. I am hoping to have business with you." The man ignored Vincencio's presence and just talked to Skylar while giving her his business card, making the ladies look at each other before glancing at Vincencio. He was quietly fuming.

"Seo Kim Harper perfectly landed on Rose Slayer's radar. Just wait, rapist," Skylar thought with dark amusement before she accepted the card politely but got annoyed. "Oh, I'm Skylar Saison-Monsour, and this is…"

"Your brother? You both look dashing." Mr. Harper interjected, which didn't go right to the three people before him.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I don't think she will have business with you." Vincencio got territorial and apologized coldly.

"Oh please, she…" Mr. Harper shook him off like he was nothing, which snapped Vincencio's patience around the man.

"Pardon my rudeness, sir, but since you're flirting instead of speaking business, on behalf of my WIFE, I won't accept doing business with you." Vincencio sternly returned his card, not caring about the stares around them. He protected his wife. "Look for somebody else to flirt with your business, but my WIFE is off limits."

"Wha…" He was about to say something when Vincencio growled deeply and stood protectively before Skylar. Mr. Harper cowered and quickly walked away, making Vincencio sigh in relief.

"Next time you attend any gatherings, always count me in. I don't want any nasty bees hanging around my flower." He firmly decided, making the two ladies amusingly chuckle over his protectiveness.

"Possessive," Mrs. Rayne commented amusingly.

"Territorial," Skylar corrected before they laughed, making Vincencio frown.

"Wifey," he whined, not caring if someone saw it.

"Yes, Hubby, I will, and Rayne is the witness of our deal." Skylar chuckled and agreed to his request.

"Good." Vincencio kissed her temple when he noticed someone looking at his wife. "Who's that?"

The two ladies glanced at the individual Vincencio was observing. Mrs. Rayne disapproved of what she saw, but to Skylar, it was a target she was willing to save for last.

"Oh boy, be warned. Don't get entangled with them," Mrs. Rayne softly whispered, and Skylar knew exactly what she meant.

"Don't worry if I do; you know me, Rayne when it comes to cleaning," Skylar whispered, her tone laced with dark amusement and an underlying hint of danger.

"If you say so. Anyway, I have to go. My wife and baby are waiting for me at home." She patted her shoulder.

"Why didn't you bring them here?" Skylar asked with a slight pout.

"My baby is just a month old. Maybe we can meet after a year; I hope you'll have one too." She winked before glancing at Vincencio, who was trying to hide his blush.

"Maybe. Say hello to your wife." Skylar waved goodbye as her friend left the party.

"Do you want that?" Vincencio softly inquired as he noticed the hope in Skylar's eyes.

"What do I want?" Skylar asked, curious about what he was referring to.

"A baby," he answered, making Skylar smile.

"If we're ready to have one and God allows us to, I don't mind," she answered honestly before asking, "What made you ask?"

"Nothing, just wondering." He smiled, but deep down, he desired it as well. However, he knew he needed to confront his fears before sharing them with his wife.

The couple took a break from their conversation with the businessmen and women across the room. They sat at their table when Skylar noticed Vincencio suddenly become tense.

"Are you okay?" Skylar asked with concern.

"I hate that man," Vincencio growled in annoyance while glaring at the man Mrs. Rayne warned them about.

"Calm down. I'm here for you." She took his hands and gently caressed them while offering her reassurance.

"I know." He sighed and kissed her hands tenderly as someone approached them.

"Ah, there you are! Finally, I get to see you again," Fredric Rusco, a familiar business associate, excalimed as he greeted the couple upon their arrival.

"Mr. Rusco, it's a pleasure to meet you." As a courteous CEO, Skylar reciprocated the greeting with a familiar gesture, drawing the attention of onlookers before they turned their gaze to the woman beside him. "And this must be your charming wife," he added.

"Did I say 'dashing' instead of 'charming'?" Mr. Fredric teased, prompting his wife to nudge his side.

"Well, she could be either, based on her beauty right now. Am I right, Mrs. Rusco?" Skylar smiled genuinely at his wife.

"Syria. Call me Syria, and if you put it that way, I might be the woman you're referring to. And you must be Mrs. Saison-Monsour, the one he is eager to work with." With a polite familiarity, Mrs. Syria Rusco—an attractive woman who carries herself with a confidence that could intimidate anyone and the only person Mr. Fredric truly loves—responded to her.

"Fancy? I don't like the sound of that." Vincencio interjected with a friendly yet protective tone, causing Mr. Fredric to chuckle.

"Don't be dramatic. It's just a friendly feeling, like a brother to his sister." He patted Vincencio's shoulder as he clarified his feelings about Skylar.

"Much better than those perverts." He shot a venomous glare at the men, causing the couple to look in their direction.

"Hahaha, you have a territorial husband, Mrs. Skylar," Fredric remarked with a knowing smirk, making Vincencio blush.

"Well, I can't argue, as I could be the same." Skylar quickly defended her husband by mirroring his reaction.

"I bet we could get along when it comes to protecting what belongs to us." Amused, Mrs. Syria agreed as she held Fredric's arm, sending a warning glare at the woman eyeing her husband.

"Cheers to that," Skylar said, raising the glass with genuine friendliness before taking a sip.

The Park-Kim couple joined their table and chatted randomly about businesses, some troubles, and personal daily lives. Their table swirled with friendly laughter, which Skylar loved, but she got slightly hungry.

"Hubby, let's eat something," Skylar whispered, but it was clear enough to be heard by everyone around their table.

"Okay, I'll get it. Stay here." Vincencio agreed and squeezed her hand before getting up.

"I'm coming with you." Fredric voluntarily stood up too.

"Same here. Excuse us, ladies." Liam joined them too, and they excused themselves.

"Don't drink too much," Verosha reminded her husband, Liam, as they went to the buffet table.

As their men get them something to eat, the ladies talk randomly until it gets into a serious topic, which is about Skylar's prey.

"Mr. Harper is one of the uninvited guests who entered the gala tonight," Verosha coldly informed them before asking Skylar. "Are you ready for him?"

"Don't ask when you already know the answer," Skylar smirked before sipping from her wine.

"I didn't know where his confidence came from, but he rudely asked me in front of Fredric a while ago." Syria sighed in disbelief, making her friends chuckle.

"I know, and as I told you before, on our six, they're going to invite themselves as well," Verosha smirked as she glanced at the small dance floor, making her friends look as well. It was Skylar's special prey.

"I could tell it was her doing, but who knows, he might turn into some greedy old fool too." Skylar hummed amusingly while playing with her glass.

"Well, based on how I talked to him earlier, it was pure business, but I'm not sure if it came to you." Syria briefly shared information with them.

"How will you talk to him when he decides to use his business as an excuse to reconnect with you?" Verosha wondered.

"Well, I'm going to play Amnesia Girl or a different person with the same name and face. Will he believe that?" Skylar decided, making the ladies giggle amusingly.

"You can do both." Verosha hummed in agreement.

"Wait, you can make it more real if we involve medical terms such as dissociative amnesia, which I think is triggered by severe psychological distress, like trauma, abuse, or war experiences. But in your case, you can go with localized amnesia, which also goes in the same category," Syria suggested with her never-fluttering smirk.

"Hm, I like this idea, but you must involve a doctor for proof, and you must include Vincencio because, from what I could see from here, he's very much territorial," Verosha added. Since her eyes saw something fascinating over their men's side, Skylar noticed eyes fixated on something.

"What do you mean?" with curiosity, she wondered.

"Take a look for yourself." Syria grinned, and Skylar looked at the buffet table, where she finally understood why her friends had their fascinated looks.

Vincencio was furious.
