Mr. Bigshot Is Obsessed with His Hidden-Marriage Wife

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Is it Your Dr. Ye?

Meng Tian was the only one who knew about her relationship with Fu Xingzhou.

Even Ye Zhun was kept in the dark, and Ye Jian'an knew nothing at all.

Anyway, her relationship with Fu Xingzhou was bound to end sooner or later, and Old Mrs. Fu's health was deteriorating day by day; her fading life seemed like a countdown between them.

However, Ye Yan had never harbored the hope that the old lady would die soon, even during her most difficult times.

A healer's heart, over the past year, she had never given up on treating Old Mrs. Fu, despite knowing there was no hope.

Old Mrs. Fu was a person worthy of her respect, like a flawless white jade buried in the mud, maintaining her luster regardless of the storms she faced.

"I will consider it." If it were for herself, she wouldn't beg Fu Xingzhou, but this time it involved Ye Zhun's future, and she could set aside her pride, even kneel if necessary.

She was someone who listened to reason.

Ye Yan arrived at the agreed-upon law firm and, through Mrs. Qin's connections, soon met Lawyer Xu.

Lawyer Xu, in his thirties, wore glasses and spoke with a clear articulation, neither too fast nor too slow.

"I have already looked into the matter," Lawyer Xu personally brought her a cup of water, "but currently, the chances of winning seem slim."

"My brother was acting out of justice; even if he injured the other party, it was in self-defense," Ye Yan's anxiety was overwhelming, and her face quickly turned red.

"Please calm down, Miss Ye," Xu Lv handed her the cup, "Currently, we lack evidence. There were no surveillance cameras at the scene, no eyewitnesses, and the only possible witness is the injured girl. But her parents refuse to let her communicate with the outside world, let alone agree for her to testify in court."

The water was warm, but Ye Yan's heart was cold.

What exactly had happened, that girl knew best. Whether she was bullied or molested by someone outside the school, everything would become clear if she just came forward.

Her parents probably wanted to protect her, to prevent her from suffering further harm, and that was not entirely unjustified.

Ye Yan suddenly thought of Lin Yihang from back then, who must have similarly hoped that someone would stand up for him and clear his name.

"Lin Yihang specializes in this kind of lawsuit," Lawyer Xu shook his head, "Going against him, our chances of winning are not great."

Lawyer Xu was entrusted by others, so he didn't need to hide anything from her, saying that their chances were not great truly meant that their hope was slim.

"Is there really no one who can contend with him?" Ye Yan was not well-versed in legal matters, but she believed that no one could remain at the top forever.

"You ask that, Miss Ye," Lawyer Xu said with a smile, then shook his head, "there is someone. He's only fought two cases abroad, which were sensational, known to all in the legal community. But after he returned home, he never took on another case."

"Did he change careers?"

"Not really," Lawyer Xu took a sip of water, "Because no one can afford him, nor dare to hire him."

"To us, he is just a legendary figure, his English name is Nathan."

Ye Yan searched online for Nathan, but couldn't find any useful information.

The person Lawyer Xu mentioned as unattainable, she didn't expect to be an exception.

Any unrealistic fantasies were just a waste of time.

Lawyer Xu promised her he would do his best, and she could only trust in him at the moment.

On the victim's side, she tried many ways to meet, but they refused any contact with them, even declaring that no amount of money would make them settle out of court; they were determined to send the perpetrator to prison.

As Ye Yan left the detention center, it had already gotten dark.

Thinking of Ye Zhun reading inside, pretending to be calm to avoid adding to her stress.

Meng Tian's words echoed again in her ears: If all else fails, she could still ask Fu Xingzhou for help.

Ye Yan sat on a bench by the roadside, pulling out her phone.

She opened their chat page, which still displayed the last message she had sent a week ago.

Fu Xingzhou had not contacted her since he went to the Mainland.

That was his usual style; he came to Yuqiao simply to vent his desires, not because he missed her, and definitely not because of love.

She deliberated on how to start the conversation, typing and then deleting her messages.

A message popped up from the top of the screen, from the hospital group that included only a few close colleagues.

It was Xiao Xiao who sent an emoji of eating melon seeds and a few photos.

"Do you guys still remember the last time we had dinner in Jiua, when Mr. Fu mentioned his wife?"

Xie Yang was the first to respond, posting an emoji filled with question marks.

Ye Yan hadn't expected Xiao Xiao to suddenly bring up this matter, and her heart instinctively skipped a beat.

Could they have found some clues?

"Take a look at the photos, this seems to be his wife."

"Is his wife from the mainland?"

"I don't know, but she seems very artistic and elegant."

Ye Yan opened the photos and saw Fu Xingzhou at first glance.

A pure hand-tailored suit showcased his superior physique impeccably.

Apparently, the photographer was a bit shaky, the photo was blurry, and even though only half of his profile was visible, it overshadowed the surrounding splendor, making others mere backdrops.

Next to him stood a woman in a classical cheongsam, her long hair up, her chin slightly raised, smiling enchantingly.

Ye Yan recognized this woman, Nangong Yan.

It wasn't their first encounter.

And every time, she was by Fu Xingzhou's side.

It turned out Fu Xingzhou had gone to the mainland for Nangong Yan's art exhibition, spending the entire week with her, no wonder he was too busy to even respond to her messages.

One photo captured them entering a hotel together, the hotel's presidential suite was famous for its luxury, she had heard of it.

"Isn't that the female painter who paints traditional Chinese paintings? I've seen her exhibition."

"Actually, they look quite matched together."

"Mr. Fu went through the trouble of going to the mainland to accompany her, their relationship must be special, maybe she is his wife."

Ye Yan stopped looking at the group's discussion, exited the chat group, and logged out of the app.

Fu Xingzhou would be busy dealing with his beauty, certainly not caring about her trivial matters; seeking him now would be humiliating.

The sky grew darker, and fewer people walked by.

Ye Yan held her phone, waiting for Meng Tian's reply.

Perhaps, she could try her luck, maybe the goddess of fortune had glanced her way?

Nathan, the legendary Nathan.

"Ah Yan, I'm helping you contact the victim's family, but as for Nathan... let's not."

Ye Yan caught the undertone in Meng Tian's words, advising her not to waste her effort.

Seemingly, all roads were closed.

The red light stopped Tang Jingyao's car, he casually glanced out the window, and saw Ye Yan sitting on the bench.

The dim streetlight cast a thick layer of loneliness and helplessness onto her hair and shoulders.

He raised his hand, snapped a photo, and forwarded it.

"Hey, Fu Er, isn't that your Dr. Ye?"
