Mr. Bigshot Is Obsessed with His Hidden-Marriage Wife

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Don't you believe I'll complain about you?

This man was capricious and casual, never liked to play by the book, just like how he would choose not to go to a proper restaurant but insist on occupying the hospital conference room to eat lunch.

Yet nobody had a way to deal with him.

Ye Yan felt somewhat annoyed, "What are you doing?"

"I wanted to taste the flavor of the dishes Dr. Ye likes..." His expression lingered as if he really tasted something delicious.

Ye Yan: ...

Fu Xingzhou's long fingers swept ambiguously across her lips, his voice tinged with a teasing playfulness, "When will Dr. Ye be as spicy as the food you eat?"

Underneath him, she was like a little sprawling vegetable, still as green as when they married a year ago, like a flower just beginning to bloom.

Perhaps it was because her blooming period was so fresh and long that he never grew tired of her, a flower bud on the verge of opening always filled with anticipation.

"I'm very hungry." Ye Yan didn't want to wrangle with him anymore, so she lowered her voice with a hint of pleading appeasement.

"Okay, eat more." He served her a piece of spicy crab meat, "Put on some weight, it feels good to the touch."

After eating, Ye Yan had to prepare for the afternoon's surgery.

She had just stepped out of the conference room when Bai Chutong walked past the office, only managing to catch a glimpse of a snowy corner of fabric and slender ankles in high heels.

Looking up, Fu Xingzhou was leaving the conference room, a bodyguard hurried to drape a coat over his shoulders, and another handed him a phone; he was talking to someone, his face as dark as water.

Bai Chutong had wanted to greet him, but seeing Fu Xingzhou's unapproachable expression, she wisely stayed in place.

The conference room door slowly closed, and she could vaguely see a few boxes of food left on the table, along with two pairs of chopsticks.

If Fu Xingzhou had been alone, he wouldn't have used two pairs of chopsticks, so the one who had dined with him...

That silhouette and those shoes, they looked a lot like Ye Yan.

Ye Yan and Fu Xingzhou had lunch together?

As soon as this idea surfaced, Bai Chutong vehemently denied it in her heart.

Back when V8 was under Ye Yan's responsibility, Fu Xingzhou frequented it, but she never saw any interaction between the two, nor were there any rumors among colleagues about them.

But on the entire VIP floor, apart from Ye Yan, she really couldn't think of anyone else who could catch Fu Xingzhou's eye.

Bai Chutong thought of the message she sent that received no response and couldn't help feeling disappointed; she comforted herself, perhaps it was because the phone was with the bodyguard.

Fu Xingzhou's behavior in the ward clearly showed he had some thoughts about her, and as long as she took the initiative, she was sure to reel him in.

Mr. Fu was about to be discharged soon, and she needed to seize the time.

Bai Chutong silently encouraged herself and turned to go to Fu Wei Jun's ward.

Fu Wei Jun heard the footsteps but didn't even lift his eyelids.

As expected, another one hell-bent on currying favor.

His son had really stirred up how many bits of fancy in Ao City.

Ye Yan finished the surgery and was writing in the medical log in her office.

"Dr. Ye, the patient in bed V9 says his stomach is uncomfortable and asked you to take a look."

Ye Yan put down the mouse and went to ward V9.

Every VIP ward was a suite-style layout, extravagantly decorated with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom, and even a small kitchen.

If not for the glaring hospital bed and equipment, the place was no different from a fully furnished apartment.

The patient in ward V9 was Mrs. Jiang, whose family ran a chain of convenience stores in Ao City. It was said they had opened over a hundred stores and had been seeking to expand inland in recent years.

"Dr. Ye, please have a look. My mom says her abdomen hurts," said a young man standing by the bed, who appeared to be in his mid-twenties. He was not particularly tall but had symmetrical features.

Upon seeing Ye Yan enter, his gaze stuck to her like glue, unremovable.

Ye Yan bent down and pressed on Mrs. Jiang's abdomen, "Does it hurt here?"

"Yes, yes," Mrs. Jiang gasped in pain, "Right there."

"Don't worry, this is lower abdominal heaviness and pain caused by fibroids," Ye Yan said. "Your surgery has already been scheduled for the day after tomorrow at 8 a.m. If you feel the pain is severe, I'll have a nurse bring you two pain relievers in a moment."

After comforting Mrs. Jiang, Jiang Yuan eagerly stepped forward, "Dr. Ye, I have a few more questions to consult with you about, let's talk outside."

Once in the sitting room, Jiang Yuan fixed her with a burning gaze, "Dr. Ye, do you have a boyfriend?"

Ye Yan frowned slightly, disliking Jiang Yuan's direct stare. But as a doctor, she was accustomed to all sorts of odd questions from patients and their families.

"Mr. Jiang, that question seems unrelated to Mrs. Jiang's condition," Ye Yan responded coolly. "Is there something else?"

"Dr. Ye is indeed as aloof and noble as the rumors say," Jiang Yuan suddenly stepped closer, his eyes shimmering with an intense desire to conquer, "You must be aware of the Jiang Family's power; our business will soon expand inland. Dr. Ye, why don't you consider coming with me? Whatever you want, I'll buy it for you. It's much better than slaving away here serving others, don't you think?"

Jiang Yuan had previously accompanied Mr. Jiang to see the doctor and had often asked her out for dinner since, but Ye Yan had never accepted.

She had thought he had moved on to another interest, but instead, he had become more persistent.

Ye Yan glanced at the partition door to ensure Mrs. Jiang couldn't overhear their conversation.

Mrs. Jiang was about to undergo surgery, and it was crucial not to get too agitated.

"I'm sorry, I am not considering it," Ye Yan checked her watch, "If there is any issue with the patient, contact me at any time."

She turned to leave but was blocked by Jiang Yuan's outstretched arm, "Dr. Ye, name your price. How much money will it take to have you?"

These VIP ward female doctors and nurses, which one of them was clean? They orbited the wealthy daily, surely not fixated on their meager salaries, but rather on the wealthy's pockets.

Ever since Mrs. Jiang was admitted, he had set his sights on Ye Yan. With her looks, she could have a successful career in show business with ease. With her cold aura, high education, and intellectual presence, she would be far more thrilling to play with than any female celebrity.

Ye Yan didn't get angry at his offense; on the contrary, she remained calm, her tone utterly even, as she slipped her hands naturally into the pockets of her white coat, "Mr. Jiang, I must remind you that your mother is undergoing surgery the day after tomorrow. As her surgeon, should my mood be affected, the direct sufferer would be the patient."

Jiang Yuan's face darkened, deeply menacing, "Are you threatening me? Do you believe I will file a complaint?"

"The complaint number is ***. You can call it now, Mr. Jiang," Ye Yan replied with a slight curl of her lips. "Hospital policy dictates that a doctor subject to a complaint must be suspended pending investigation, which means Mrs. Jiang's surgery would have to be entrusted to the competence of someone else."

"You..." Mrs. Jiang had come here for the surgery on the strong recommendation of her close friend, Mrs. Qin. Mrs. Qin had praised Ye Yan's surgical skills to the skies, calling her the best minimally invasive surgeon in all of Ao City.

"Mr. Jiang, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave," Ye Yan said as she opened the door, leaving Jiang Yuan with her chilly silhouette.

Jiang Yuan was seething with rage, but he quickly regained his composure.

It appeared the young masters were right about her; this woman navigated the VIP floor with ease, commanding a different respect from the wealthy and nobility, not because of her inherent aloofness but because she truly had the capital for such pride.

Jiang Yuan smirked derisively to himself; he had already made a bet with those fellows that if he could have his way with Dr. Ye just once, they would help the Jiang Family take their business inland.

And establishing a chain store empire inland had always been the ultimate goal for the Jiang Family.
