Chapter 24: Chapter 21 (Bonus)
Alex stood tall amidst the dusty battlefield, wings tucked and chest heaving. Blood—black and red—soaked the dirt beneath him. All around were the broken bodies of Skullcrawlers, yet the remaining few, including their alpha, refused to back down.
He respected their tenacity. Weakened, outmatched,—but still standing. Willing to die beside their alpha.
They hissed in unison, and the alpha let out a guttural screech—one last war cry. Then they all charged.
The smaller ones reached him first. Alex jumped and crushed one beneath his clawed foot, the impact cracking the ground. Another lunged at him from the side, but Alex rotated midair and positioned his tail like a spear. The Skullcrawler impaled itself with a sickening squelch, momentum doing all the work.
The alpha made its move—slithering around to strike him from behind again, just like before. But Alex had learned. He spun quickly and caught the beast in his jaws by the throat. With a violent shake, he crushed its neck. The alpha collapsed like dead weight, limp and defeated.
Ding! You have killed Alpha Skullcrawler. +6000 EVs.
The remaining Skullcrawlers froze. Their screeches turned into fearful cries as they scrambled back toward the tunnels. Alex lunged at them, but they slipped into the dark faster than he could catch them.
Frustrated yet triumphant, Alex let out a deep, echoing roar over the fallen pack. He spread his wings and soared skyward, scanning for a quiet place to rest.
While flying, he passed over the iwi people's fortress—an impressive structure of sharpened pikes and timber walls hidden deep in the jungle. From above, it looked like a relic from another world.
Then he heard it.
A sharp whistling sound cut through the air.
Before he could react—WHAM!
A massive boulder struck him mid-flight, slamming into his wing and throwing him off-balance. Alex lost control, spiraling as the wind howled around him before crashing violently into the jungle, just a few hundred meters from the iwi fortress. Trees snapped. Dust rose. The earth quaked.
And silence followed.
The boulder had come out of nowhere—but Alex already knew what had thrown it.
Or rather, who.
As he struggled to his feet, groaning from the impact, a massive shadow fell over him. He looked up just in time to see a colossal foot descending from the sky.
Kong.
Alex's instincts screamed. He rolled away just as the giant foot crashed into the ground where he'd been, sending shockwaves through the jungle. Soil erupted. Trees shattered. The very earth quaked.
His heart was pounding. Adrenaline surged.
This wasn't a battle he could win. Not now. Not yet.
One mistake and it's lights out.
He sprang into the air, wings flapping desperately—but he wasn't fast enough.
Kong's massive hand grabbed his tail mid-air.
With a roar, Kong **slammed Alex into the ground—once, twice, three times—**before flinging him like a ragdoll across the jungle.
BOOM!
Alex smashed into a distant mountain with bone-cracking force. Rocks crumbled. A shockwave echoed for miles.
For a moment, everything went dark.
Blood streamed from his mouth and nostrils. His ribs were shattered. Organs crushed. If not for his regeneration, that would've been the end.
But survival was still an option.
As Kong thundered toward him for the final blow, Alex forced himself into the air, wings shaking, every beat painful. He didn't look back—until he was clear of the canopy.
When he did, he saw Kong standing atop a cliff, beating his chest in primal triumph, roaring into the sky like a king declaring his territory.
And Alex knew—this wasn't a random attack. It was a warning.
Kong wasn't even at his full height yet, maybe 70 to 80 meters tall compared to the 120 meters Alex remembered from the movies. But even now, the message was clear:
This was his island.
Alex grimaced, blood still leaking from his jaw as he pushed through the pain. He wouldn't forget this beating.
He wouldn't forget the humiliation.
He will return the favour one day tenfold.
The mistake had been getting too close to the Iwi tribe.
Alex had realized it too late. Kong must've seen him hovering above the village and mistook him for a threat. And just like that, the mighty ape had struck with zero hesitation—brutal, fast, and without warning.
And Alex? He'd taken the beating like a ragdoll.
Without even fighting back.
His pride stung more than the injuries. Sure, he could've put up a fight—but deep down, he knew the truth: it would've been a massacre. Kong had tossed him around like a chew toy, and Alex hadn't even landed a single hit.
Now, as he glided through the skies over Skull Island, bruised, battered, and bitter, he spotted a distant mountain. Tucked near its peak was a dark cave—secluded, hidden, safe.
Perfect.
Alex dove into the cave and settled inside, curling up with a grunt. Every movement reminded him of the damage he'd taken. His regeneration was working overtime, but his ego wouldn't recover that easily.
He sighed, tail flicking irritably.
"I need to grow. Big. Strong. Strong enough so no one—not even an overgrown ape—can push me around again."
As he rested in the quiet darkness, his mind wandered.
All that punishment, and he hadn't even raised a claw. He gritted his teeth at the memory. That wasn't him. That wasn't how he wanted to go down.
He now completely understood why Frieza hated monkeys.
He gave a tired chuckle to himself, the pain in his ribs turning it into a wheeze.
"Damn monkey."
But there'd be a next time.
But on the bright side had managed to gather a significant amount of EVs—from wiping out the Skullcrawler nest and killing the Megalodons back at fun island. It had been a productive streak, and now he was ready to evolve further.
Nestled deep in the mountain cave, wings folded over his sides like a second shell, Alex narrowed his eyes.

Alex ordered quickly.
'Upgrade jaw strength.'
His body tensed. A low thrum resonated through his skull as muscle and bone compacted and reinforced. He felt the power surge in his jaw. His bite was already monstrous, but now?
He could snap steel beams like twigs.
"Good," he thought. "But it's still not enough."he knew that in the future his jaws will be his main weapon so he had to push them.
He glanced at the other attributes—he had enough EVs to upgrade either his scales or infinite growth but it was still locked, but he knows that when he . Upgade's his scales the upgrade for infinite growth will be unlocked.but he wants to upgrade them both which means He needed more kills. More points.then he would finally be at Apex supreme tier a step away from being a titan.
Then something struck him.
Those Megalodons.
They were supposed to be extinct… yet they had surfaced, alive and hunting.
That couldn't be random.
"If there's one, there's more," Alex reasoned. "Something brought them up."
And if they came from the sea, there was only one thing to do.
He had to dive deep. Find out where they came from. And while he was at it… harvest every last one of them.
