Chapter 4366: Incredible Dinner
I stopped and opened my eyes.
I am tired like I have never been while comprehending the law. I had really pushed myself too hard.
I usually don't do this; I stop when I start to feel a little tired, as I have other things to do after; I can't let myself be dead tired.
This time, I didn't stop as I feared I might not get the opportunity. Thus, I tried to squeeze as much out of it as possible.
I took a deep breath and raised my finger before drawing the runes.
I drew one after another and soon broke the record for the most runes drawn in a single try.
It took some time, but finally, I drew the final rune.
I looked at the runes in front of me, and a smile couldn't help but appear on my face. I had comprehended that the three times most runes were my highest record.
That record was a lucky day where I made more than twice the progress, but today I crossed it.
I really comprehended a lot. It's such a regret that I couldn't use my laws. If I could, I wouldn't have been worried about my circumstances as I am right now.
I am steadily comprehending the laws and making progress at a shocking pace.
It wouldn't have been possible without this place. The library lets me comprehend the laws here, giving me a massive advantage.
A moment later, I got up and walked, not toward the table as I usually do, but to the door.
Click!
I stepped out of the library and an open space beside the lake.
As I did, I had a sword in my hand and moved. My movements are different than my usual. They are not mine; I am imitating what I have observed.
They are smooth but fast, with each positioned for the killing.
The person was a killing incarnate. Their every movement is focused on killing. Be it offense or defense, it is all aimed at the kill.
Minutes passed, and my movements began to change.
My movements began to minute mixed as the minute passed; more and more of them appeared till the foreign movements had fully disappeared.
To most, it had disappeared, but to sharp-eyed.
They would see me incorporating the elements into my own fighting style. I had just begun, and it would take a while before I finished.
I am incorporating it into my true fighting style, not the way I am using it in my current persona.
However, once I did, it wouldn't be much of a challenge to do it.
Hours passed, and then another and another. I kept refining the fighting style I had comprehended, adding the things that would enhance my fighting style while throwing out the rest.
The fighting style I saw is amazing, but that doesn't mean I will copy it whole.
That would be a terrible mistake.
Over thirteen hours passed when I had finally stopped, with a smile on my face. I had far from finished, the one I had comprehended from a very powerful individual.
Such time is far from enough, but I have made much progress.
Feeling hungry, I got out of the core but didn't walk toward the kitchen. Instead, I walked toward the door with a simple cloth bag appearing on my shoulder.
I stepped out the door and the compound before walking toward the village square.
It is night, and the village is all glowing in the lights, but if one looks at the village from the sky. They could see nothing but a mountain.
The formation not only hides the lights but also the signature and aura of all that reside in it.
Even the Prime monsters need to be powerful enough to see something wrong with this place. To sense them, the monsters need to be really powerful.
Soon, I reached the village square, and there were people.
They go shopping, eat, and talk to each other. As I entered the square; I saw many eyes on me.
I met Primes, but these are Sovereigns of all three stages.
There are many of them, but when one compares the Sovereign to Prime ratio, their numbers seem to be a fraction of what is outside.
There are far too many primes here, with more than half of them making breakthroughs here from Sky Sovereign.
Over 90% of Initial Primes are the ones that made a breakthrough in this realm, while every Prime above Initial is a Prime and had been a Prime before coming here.
As one reaches the Prime in this realm. It restricts them from advancing further.
The only way through which they could advance is through a law. It is what most are focused on here. On the way, I spied some Prime and found them meditating.
I looked at those looking at me, making them look away before walking toward the restaurant.
Ring!
The bell rang as I stepped into it.
The restaurant is like any other village restaurant. It is small and homely, and one could feel its age, the things that been hanging on its walls.
"Welcome to Ahas, Prime Arys," said the Initial Earth-Sovereign Wolf-tribe girl. She is one of two staff members at the restaurant.
Outside, such a scene would be shocking, even in a place that is filled with a powerhouse.
Sky Sovereigns do not wait tables, but they are doing it here. It's not strange when considering the chef is Prime, and they are serving everything.
From the Sovereigns to Prime.
"Thank you," I replied, and the girl put a menu in front of me.
"I will take harae stew, carr.." I ordered.
"Would you like our homemade wine? The chef himself had brewed it," she asked. "Of course," the girl smiled and walked away.
I looked around, with anticipation building in my heart.
I didn't want to do it, but I looked at the chef, and what I saw made me very excited about the food. So much that I could barely hold myself back.
It took over forty minutes before she brought my order.
"Enjoy, Prime Arys," she said as she placed my food before me. I thanked her and turned to food.
I broke the freshly baked steaming bread and dipped it into the stew before eating.
"Mmm!"
The unconscious sound came out of my mouth as I ate the most delicious food. The chef is a culinary master, technically a Grandmaster.
Grade VIII Culinary Grandmaster.
A level higher than me; the man took hundreds of years to master his craft, which shows in his cooking.
I took another bite and then another while drinking wine now and then. It is also amazing, made of fruits that send merry all the way to the soul.
Before I knew it, I cleaned everything.
I wanted to order more, but I controlled myself. I will be living here for a while and plan to eat regularly. So, there is no need for me to eat ravenously.
"It was an incredible meal. Please thank the chef for me," I said to the server, handing the payment along with the tip before walking out.
Paying isn't compulsory, but not doing that would be disrespectful.
Here, it is not for the monetary value but to show appreciation for the incredible food they had made.
