Monster Integration

It was evening when I woke up.

I had slept, which is surprising, seeing I had woken up from the days of rest less than two hours ago.

I shouldn't be surprised that I had slept just a few hours after sleeping for days.

Three and half months ago, I went through a formation that helped me tremendously but also put tremendous strain on my body.

I should have rested to recover from it, but what happened is I had fought a dangerous battle that nearly killed me.

From it, I got a boost of strengthening energy.

If it were all that, it would have been fine, but just a few days after, I suffered an accident that filled my body with a massive amount of spatial energy.

For three and half months, that energy remained in my body before being forcefully extracted within hours, straining my body further.

After that, I rested for a few days and then woke up. In less than an hour, I was fighting again.

It wasn't straining, and I didn't even use even a fifth of my power, but it was still a battle that had strained my spirit and made me fall asleep.

I had nearly recovered from my injuries, but deep strain remained on my body.

If possible, I shouldn't do anything stressful for a few weeks. I think I will be able to manage that with the powerful people protecting the village from all the danger.

Though, I will not depend on them for my safety. I will be cautious of all the dangers, including those they might pose against me.

Here, I will have to be more cautious than outside.

On the outside, I was able to craft this image with all the intricacies of perfect identity. Here, they have nothing but my words and will look at my every action through a different lens.

I sighed and got up before freshening up.

Feeling all the sleep vanished, I walked into the living room and sat cross-legged in the center of it.

I started even to breathe as if I was meditating, but I entered inside my core. Three and half months had brought a lot of changes.

I looked at them all, before appearing beside my clone.

It is working on the samples I had collected from the infected monster. I would have liked to have a whole body, but that would have been extremely dangerous.

I don't want to put something like this inside me, unless I am fully sure.

I took complete precautions when I brought the samples inside. As I had said, the risk is too much. If I made a mistake, I might get infected.

That would be terrible, not only for me but for also others.

Forbidden power had made me too precious. In the hands of Itornas, I would become a terror.

"It is really something," I said as what my clone was able to find out came to me.

It had discovered many things, some of which hadn't even been mentioned in the data they had provided and books I had got in the library.

However, that data helped tremendously synthesize what my clone was able to find out.

"I will need a strong protection. I would be in real brought if I went against the infected powerful than me," I said to myself and shuddered.

The fear is real. Especially now, I understand what they could do to me.

I stayed by it for a few minutes before walking into the library. My clones are already working on the inheritance.

My clones were out for weeks to over a month due to the soul damage I had suffered. It had cost years of time that would take my inheritance forward.

I can't make up for that time; the only thing I can do is use the time as efficiently as possible.

I wanted to work on the inheritance and nearly sat on my usual chair but stopped. Instead, I sat down on the mat in the center of the library.

I took a couple of deep breaths before closing my eyes.

As I did, I focused on my constitution and thought it, the Law of Killing.

As I did, the blood-red world appeared in front of me instantly. It was clearer than I had ever sensed, and I could feel even more clearly.

'This is going to be amazing.' I thought.

I was wondering whether I would be able to feel the closer connection this place has to the universe quintessence from my core, but it seemed I had nothing to worry about.

Like the others, I, too, could feel the closer connection with the universe's quintessence.

I pushed all thoughts away and focused on the law.

As I did it, I began to feel the killing, and soon, I saw the movements. Till now, I wasn't, but now I am seeing them, and they are full of killing.

Every movement is for killing.

As I focused on them, I felt my comprehension of the law deepening, and it wasn't the only thing that was happening. I also begin to get inspired by my fighting style.

This surprised me as it had never happened to me when I was comprehending the rules.

Though, the laws are different.

They are connected to every being, while powerhouses could comprehend them by connecting with quintessence. The quintessence also takes something in exchange.

These experiences get stored in quintessence, and one could gain a lot from them.

These experiences are harder to decipher as they are unique to a person, but they can be deciphered, and I am focusing on that.

Because they are connected with the law, understanding them makes the law easier to comprehend.

This is a rare opportunity, as one usually needs to take their laws at the intermediate level before they see and feel these experiences.

This close connection with quintessence has allowed me to experience it before.

So, I focused on it fully, thinking nothing but the law before me. I was fully engrossed in it but kept myself tethered to the reality.

I know the dangers of losing myself to the law—especially the one like the law of killing.
