Chapter 28: The Path to Happiness(1)
One could see Leon calmly training with his sword. He had become very strong thanks to daily training in both fencing and close combat, as well as in magic. This pleased him greatly. This day could have been no different from others, but suddenly Luxion appeared next to him, and, looking at Leon, he said:
— Master, Cleare detected Zola's movements, and, after listening in, she confirmed what you have been waiting for.
Hearing this, Leon's spine trembled with excitement.
— Finally! — he shouted, and his voice suddenly split in two. — Let's go, let's move quickly! You prepare the ship, and I'll go after my father! — he yelled, starting to run towards the estate.
As he entered, he saw the maids and shouted to them:
— Where is my father?
Frightened, they quickly responded:
— The master is in his office.
— Thanks! — he shouted, and ran toward Barcus's office.
Breaking through, he barged in without knocking, causing his father to drop all his papers in surprise.
— Ah, Leon, what the hell?! If I die of a stroke, know that it's your fault! — he said, bending down to pick up the papers, but suddenly felt Leon grab his arm.
— No time, old man, we're running to my ship! — Leon shouted, pulling Barcus along.
— To your ship? — he said, looking at Leon with a questioning expression. — Why, son?
— For the happiness of our family and a bright future! — Leon shouted.
Hearing this, Barcus, without resistance, began to run after Leon.
In a minute, they had already reached the ship. Upon entering, Barcus decided to ask something.
— Where are we going, son?
Hearing this question, Leon replied:
— To the royal capital. First, to the royal steward.
(Author's explanation for readers: A royal steward is a person who serves as a witness, confirming or denying your achievements, or for other purposes, including legal matters.)
Hearing this, Barcus simply nodded, deciding not to ask more questions.
As soon as he sat down, Leon's ship quickly took off, and at a speed Barcus had never seen, they flew toward the capital.
Normally, it would take a couple of days to get from our barony to the capital, at best, one day on a fast ship. This ship could reach it in just a couple of hours, — Barcus analyzed, recalling his experiences.
And so it was. In just over an hour, to Barcus's surprise, they reached the capital.
There, they were met by a man in his middle years, wearing white robes, with the royal family crest on his chest. It was clear that he was the royal steward.
Barcus quickly lowered his head, trying to show respect, while Leon simply stood still.
The royal steward himself showed respect to Leon.
— Hello, Lord Leon. My name is Arthur Pereira. It was a surprise for me to receive your letter requesting me to be your witness.
— Oh, please, what are you bowing for? — Leon suddenly blushed, asking him to lift his head.
— How could I not? — said Arthur, continuing. — Your achievements are remarkable, especially considering your age. You are just a few steps away from becoming a hero of the kingdom!
— What? A hero? — Barcus thought in surprise, looking at Leon. — My foolish son? Yes, I admit he has achieved a lot, but I didn't expect him to go this far to become a hero of the country.
— Blah-blah-blah, you're embarrassing me. To cut to the chase, I need you to help me with something, — Leon said, looking at Arthur.
Arthur nodded, saying:
— I'll do everything I can.

Hi guys I want to highlight the fact that, in general, in just 2 weeks, the number of people who added my fanfic to their library reached 1k! 🎉 This came as a complete surprise to me. It even surpassed my other project, which I've been working on for a month, but that one has only reached 500 so far.
Anyway, I want to thank everyone who is supporting me right now and everyone who is still reading my work. I'll release a couple more chapters, and then I'll disappear for a short while, about one or two weeks, because of the New Year. But I might also write chapters during the New Year if the opportunity arises.
The next chapter will probably be released in a couple of hours, but I'm not sure.
