MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1565: Reviving Electricity (1)

"…Huh."

"Didn't think we'd salvage a ton of stuff from there."

After recovering a great number of items from Ecalos' west wing, the two returned to Dnal fo Nigiro with large smiles on their faces, heading straight back to Ryvrthe's chamber after that.

"Must be because most of the generators weren't really activated even in the past," replied Ryvrthe to the young man's words, giving him a look that the latter quickly understood. "In a way, you could say that they're still in pristine condition."

"Is it really, though?" asked Valyr in response , taking out the various items they've salvaged out of his spatial bracelet. "After all, some of the parts we salvaged have rust on them."

"Nothing a good old cleaning can't fix," replied Ryvrthe with a faint smile, waving Valyr's concern off. "And even if cleaning those parts can't fix it, we can still use their parts to complete some of the broken ones we grabbed from the west wing."

Just as those words left his mouth, Valyr had taken out the last item the two of them had salvaged from the west wing, arranging them in a line with a bit of his energy.

"In total, we grabbed two fully-intact alternators…" said Ryvrthe, his gaze sweeping over the parts with a solemn expression. "Five half-broken alternators, and a single broken alternator we've decided to use for parts."

"On the other hand, we grabbed over a couple dozen stators, most of which we've confirmed still works," he continued, shifting his gaze towards the smaller items making up their haul. "We also grabbed around 50 or so stators that are in varying conditions, but we decided to grab them because we knew we could still use their parts."

"Yeah." Valyr nodded in agreement, his gaze on the small pile of circuit boards and electronic components at the center. "Don't forget the voltage regulators and the transformers we salvaged."

Ryvrthe nodded at that, letting out a slight chuckle soon after. "All we need now is some wire, and we'll pretty much have almost all we need to get some electricity running."

"I could probably make some," said Valyr after pondering over the man's words for a bit. "All it needs to do is to conduct electricity, right?"

"As much of it as possible." The latter nodded, only to continue after thinking about the question for a bit more. "Also, it'd probably be better if the wire was insulated."

"Gotcha." Nodding in response, Valyr went ahead and quickly got to work, looking through the various items he grabbed from the Blacksmith Guild in his spatial bracelet.

Once he found a metal that he recalled had the property to conduct electricity, he went ahead and took it out before chucking it into the furnace without hesitation.

Whoosh!

Fanning the flames within the furnace, the young man intently watched as the metal slowly got up to temperature. At the same time, he made sure to consult his memories to confirm that the metal he grabbed indeed had the property of conducting electricity.

Eventually, Valyr found out through one of his memories that the metal had the property of redirecting lightning, prompting him to deliberate for a bit as to whether he should find another metal from his bracelet to use as the conductor for the wire.

After all, the property of redirecting lightning could manifest in various ways even he could not expect.

Fortunately, Ryvrthe decided to check and see what he was doing at that moment, only to ask Valyr in slight disbelief where he'd gotten his hands on the metal he just put in the furnace.

Listening to the properties that came out of the man's mouth after asking about it, the young man's fears were eventually dispelled, allowing him to continue the working with a relieved mind.

'With Ryvrthe confirming that the metal I chose is the most ideal conductor I could've chosen, I suppose that leaves the other component for the wire,' thought Valyr to himself, briefly glancing at what Ryvrthe was doing.

'The insulation.'

Watching the man disassemble some of the more broken stators into their base components for a bit, the young man soon returned his attention to his spatial bracelet, checking to see if he had any material that could act as insulation for the wire.

'Now that I think about it, insulation isn't really necessary.' While continuing to rummage through his items, an errant thought popped up within the young man's mind. 'After all, in the long term, the wires would be so high up that no one would be close to touching it.'

'At the same time, even if someone did touch it, they'd probably have some defensive or healing skills in their arsenal. Or better yet, high stats to be immune to its effects,' he continued, only to then admonish himself and dispel that train of thought soon after.

'However, that would only make sense if everyone was at a high class rank.' My Virtual Library Empire (M-VLEMPYR)

With that thought in mind, Valyr glanced at Ryvrthe once more, only to see that most of the usable parts from the broken stators had been set aside by the man.

Slightly surprised that the man was better at disassembling items than he thought, the young man decided to ask for his opinion on what he could use as insulation, giving Ryvrthe access to view the items that were in his spatial bracelet.

Unfortunately, even though Ryvrthe had knowledge of which metal worked as the best conductor, the man could not find even a single material in the young man's bracelet that could act as insulation material.

In the end, the two eventually agreed to be more mindful of where they were for the meantime, agreeing to let the wire hover slightly above the ground for now as a temporary solution for the lack of insulation.

With their problems regarding the wire temporarily solved for their first attempt, the two did not hesitate to get to work, with Valyr giving it his all to make a strong enough wire, while Ryvrthe slowly pieced together an electric generation system that met their current needs.

And with that, a few hours passed.
