MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1563: Exploring Ecalos (1)

"Are you sure you wanna do this? I could explore the place by myself, you know?"

"Trust me. With my knowledge of the place, it'll be easier for us to find a spare stator and alternator."

Walking through the corridor that led back to the center of Dnal fo Nigiro, Valyr and Ryvrthe continued to discuss their plans regarding electricity generation.

Specifically, their plan to explore Ecalos in search of generator parts they could salvage.

"I know this place contains remnants of Veldanyr's glorious past," said Valyr, pushing the curtain at the entrance aside. "But with how much time has passed since then, don't you think all of them have eroded by now?"

"Most of them would have definitely corroded by now." Ryvrthe nodded in agreement, letting out a low exhale as the two appeared outside the chambers. "But there are still some parts out there that have been built to stand the test of time."

"If I couldn't even remember those… why would I even be called the greatest mind of humanity in the first place?"

Whoosh!

"Valyr!" Seeing Valyr come out of Ryvrthe's chambers, Vlrvadh immediately came up to him with a smile. "How was your meeting with the Sapient O—?!"

Sending a message to the young man, the man's message was cut short as he noticed a familiar being standing beside Valyr.

My Virtual Library Empire (M|V|LE1MPYR) thanks you for reading at the source.

Shaking his head for a bit to check if he was hallucinating, Vlrvadh eventually took a few steps back before giving a half-bow filled with respect. "I… I teerg eht Tneipas Eno!"

"Ew teerg eht Tneipas Eno!"

Unsurprisingly, with Vlrvadh's sudden shout alerting everyone else of Ryvrthe's existence, all the other people immediately gave the latter a half-bow as well, forcing the latter to let out a faint sigh in response.

"Ta esae." Briefly giving Valyr a bitter smile, the man soon shifted his focus back towards his people. "Peek pu eht doog krow, enoyreve."

"Nodrap em rof ym ytisoiruc, tub…" Although most of the people returned to what they were doing after hearing those words, as one of Dnal fo Nigiro's protectors, Vlrvadh could not help but view Ryvrthe leaving his chambers with slight worry. "Yhw evah uoy emoc tuo, Tneipas Eno?"

"I nalp ot ynapmocca ruo doog dneirf Valyr ereh no a pirt ssorca Ecalos," replied Ryvrthe, placing his hand on the young man's shoulder. "Ew nalp ot kool rof emos smeti taht dluow pleh gnirb kcab Dnal fo Nigiro ot tahw ti saw erofeb."

Seeing the calm expression on Valyr's face, Vlrvadh glanced at Ryvrthe for a bit before deciding to send the former a message. "The Sapient One just told me the two of you would be exploring Ecalos for items. Is that true?"

"Yeah." Valyr nodded after giving the question a bit of thought. "I don't know how I'd explain it to you in simple terms, but let's just say the items we plan on grabbing will help Dnal fo Nigiro in the long run."

"Do you need me to accompany you two?" asked Vlrvadh after that, only to ask the same question to Ryvrthe in their own language.

"It's fine," replied Valyr, giving the man a look of assurance. "As far as what the Sapient One told me, we won't head into the unexplored areas of Ecalos."

"On deen," said Ryvrthe at the same time, letting out a bit of laughter. "Htiw ruo doog dneirf htiw em, od I deen ot raef eht ytilibissop fo regnad?"

For a while after that, Vlrvadh went silent, the gears in his mind turning as he shifted his gaze towards the two back and forth.

In the end, the man gave the two a faint nod, wishing both of them a safe journey while they explored the outskirts of Ecalos.

In response, both Valyr and Ryvrthe smiled back at him, telling him to wait for their return as they departed Dnal fo Nigiro amidst the gazes of its people.

"So, what did Vlrvadh ask you, exactly?"

Making their way to their large main corridors of Ecalos, Valyr decided to bring up the conversation Ryvrthe had with the man after coming out of the chambers.

"Pretty much what he asked you, I'd presume," replied Ryvrthe, calmly walking forward as if they were going on a field trip. "He asked you what we're going to do, right?"

Valyr nodded.

"I'm pretty sure he also asked you if we needed him to accompany us."

The young man nodded once more.

"As I said, the same conversation." Ryvrthe smiled after that, only to let out a bit of laughter. "I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to have you learn the language once we get a generator going."

"How does that device work, anyway?" asked the young man as the two of them traversed through the winding corridors with ease. "The last time I saw you use it, you just asked me to say a couple of words, yet the device allowed you to learn the entire language."

"In simple terms, the device breaks down the language it hears into its basic components, then generates a ton of random words based on the system it figures out from what it heard," said Ryvrthe, prompting Valyr to think back to the explanation he came up with in the past.

"Using our language as its reference, it then begins to discard the words that don't make sense during the mass generation. Once it collects a certain amount of words, it then figures out the usage of each one before sending all of it to me in a form that allows me to easily grasp it."

"That's… more complicated than I thought it would be," said Valyr, viewing the device in a new light. "Also, when you said it sends the language to you in a form that's easily graspable, what did you mean by that?"

"Mnemonics, subliminal messaging, and rote memorization," replied Ryvrthe, causing the young man to shudder at how unexpected the reply was. "The device uses a lot more methods while those three are activated, but those three are the most prominent during the impartation process."

"I… see." Briefly wondering what would happen to him if he were to use the device to learn their language, Valyr decided not to think about it any further, getting the feeling that the thought would haunt him if he were to keep thinking about it.

With that, the two changed the topic of their conversation to something else as they eventually arrived at one of Ecalos' main corridors.
