MMORPG: Rebirth Of The Strongest Assassin

Chapter 16: Rankings

"For real Ema, I'm swamped. Just say what you want and leave," Yone held his anger as best as possible as he faintly smiled again, worried his feelings would get the best of him.

Seeing his reaction, she felt that he was overwhelmed or else he wouldn't be treating her this way and asking her to leave, this wasn't his usual behavior. Instead, it's the total opposite since he will always use all kinds of tactics to make her stay longer.

Sighing, she stood up and said," It's your mother. She's worried about you and contacted me about finding you a better job." She paused for a moment as she slowly walked to the door." I cannot refuse aunt and I was about to do the same without her telling me about it, so I agreed."

'I see now, same scenario but just a few days earlier,' Yone could never forget this scene since this was the first step of him getting his high hopes and later on joining the Guardians Angels guild through Amy's connections.

"I already have a job and don't need another. There is no need for it, Amy. " He waved his hand and went to make a coffee for himself, clearly not interested in her proposal.

"That's something you need to talk with Aunt about, but since she's gonna be refusing your suggestion anyway, just call me and I'll arrange an interview for you," With that said, she opened the door and left.

Phew!

Keeping the conversation almost the same as last time wasn't easy with the sudden visit, but he still managed to do so, as he breathed a sigh of relief, drank his coffee after ten minutes of deep thinking, and returned to Eclipse Online, his expression lighting up.

He already had many thoughts on how he would deal with Amy, but now wasn't the right time to think about her as things can suddenly change anyway, especially at the first levels where everyone was close to each other when it comes to level and equipment.

Without wasting a second, Yone rushed out of the dungeon and the hideout, his mind focused on only one thing. Abuse the information about the passive of maxing out a single stat three times before Anonymous leaves the lake's shore.

If his plans in the future needed to succeed, he needed funds to build an early advantage and not just in levels. And who is better to spread the word than Anonymous?!

Cristalized Stone Town, Temple Hall.

The temple hall was a building where players first spawned and also the location where they resurrected. At this moment, the whole temple hall spanning tens of meters on each side with a singular platform in the middle was filled with all kinds of players finding no spot outside to sell their items and deciding to use this place as another market.

Suddenly, five bursts of blinding light lit up the entire hall as five players respawned inside the fountain, their expression ugly and hands trembling out of anger. The leader was an assassin clad in a leather armor of the uncommon rank and two daggers on his wrist, his eyes bloodshot as he said on the team chat.

"We're changing the leveling spot, Shadow and his guild are unleashed and we can't reason with them," With that, he opened his friend list and contacted the first on his list." Brother, the route our little sister drew for me is safe, right? I can rest assured about the assassins?"

"Yes, we have taken that route to get here and none bothered us; it's a long detour but worth the trouble. Leveling here is much easier and faster without any competition," Anonymous was about to end the call when he recalled something," By the way, did you investigate the matter we told you about?"

"About that, it seems like Eclipse Online do not allow us to recall the features of the players yet and there is a blockage whenever I try to, might be a protection system for first levels and before we change our character appearances like they announced," He replied awkwardly, feeling his frustration doubling.

Anonymous didn't mind the features blockage and spoke," Brother, did you at least run his name on our database center?" That is the most crucial thing he needed to know and he couldn't just lie low before the chance slipped out of his hand.

"I did as told and ran his name through everything, however, we found no match except for a bottom newbie player who can barely play End World called Ravyn Requiem. Still, I don't know why you are so obsessed with this player, how good can he be for you to go to such lengths in order to recruit him?" Night was truly confused by his brother's actions and felt that he was playing a bit too much with the severity of their guild.

"You will know later, just come fast," He immediately ended the call, not giving him the chance to keep speaking non-stop.

Right as he was about to leave, a death knight on his team suddenly grabbed his shoulder," Night, the guy you've been looking around for the past hour, his name is Requiem, isn't he?"

Night nodded his head, even more confused by his friend's action, he felt that everyone around him had turned into drama queens and he should truly distance himself away not to get infected.

But the death knight didn't say any more words as he pointed his finger at the ranking list placed right above the temple's entrance ranking the top 20 leveling players of their kingdom, his hand trembling.

Night was confused but still followed his finger direction and looked at the ranking from bottom to top. But then, as his eyes moved to the first spot, his body froze and his mind buzzed," Level 4? No...he is close to level 5?! That's impossible?!"

Silence...

Silence enveloped the whole market as everyone looked at the group at the center of the resurrection fountain, their eyes containing a deep sense of pity," Poor guy, he just noticed the rankings of our kingdom and saw the first ranked player frightening leveling speed."

"Huuh?" The group that spawned alongside the death knight were all shocked, but what shocked them even more was the uncaring behavior of the players inside the fountain hall. They acted as if this was something to be expected and none of them were surprised by the kingdom rankings.
