Chapter 8: Chapter 7: Ganyu: What Kind of Blocky World Is This?!
With one final swing of his wooden sword, Kanzaki Yuzuki stood over the crumbling remains of the villager who had tormented him for months. The pixelated figure disintegrated into smoke, vanishing into the air.
Kanzaki exhaled deeply, lowering his sword.
"That's what you get for making me sleep on the floor. In a village that doesn't even have an Iron Golem, what were you thinking acting so cocky?"
The bitterness of six months of frustration melted away, leaving Kanzaki feeling oddly satisfied.
He knew there were no Iron Golems in this village — he'd confirmed that before deciding to live here.
If there had been one, Kanzaki would've been far more careful. Iron Golems were no joke — one solid punch from those metal giants could flatten him, even with Steve's physique.
But no Golems meant Kanzaki was free to do what he pleased.
Now that he'd dealt with this so-called "villager," he could build his own Iron Golem — a loyal guardian that would ensure he could sleep soundly at night.
Satisfied, Kanzaki walked over to the nearby farmland, gathering carrots and potatoes. He replanted the crops neatly, a habit honed from countless hours grinding in the MC world.
Perfectly efficient farming? Check.
With everything sorted, Kanzaki turned back to Keqing and Ganyu.
They were still staring at him — frozen, confused, and a little horrified.
Kanzaki smirked, waved them over, and called out, "You two coming or what? Let's go build a house."
Keqing and Ganyu glanced at each other uneasily before turning to the remaining villagers.
Both instinctively fell into defensive stances — Keqing gripping her sword, Ganyu drawing her bow.
"...Jiang — I mean, Kanzaki," Ganyu said carefully, "Even if you were angry... wasn't that a little... extreme?"
"You didn't need to kill anyone just because of a grudge!"
"I'm more worried about what happens next," Keqing added. "What if their friends come for revenge? We still need to talk to the village chief about buying land."
"Buying land?" Kanzaki chuckled.
He gestured at the pixelated villagers shuffling aimlessly nearby — oblivious to the recent murder.
"Those guys aren't people. Don't think of them as humans — their brains are about as sharp as a Slime's. They're just... placeholders."
"Besides," Kanzaki grinned, spreading his arms dramatically, "this is my world. I don't need permission to build. I just pick a spot, and boom — it's mine!"
"...Are you sure that's okay?" Keqing asked skeptically.
"Absolutely." Kanzaki gave her a confident nod.
To prove his point, he pulled out his wooden sword and casually tapped a nearby villager's head.
The villager didn't react — just kept wandering in circles like a mindless automaton.
Ganyu and Keqing exchanged uneasy glances.
"They're... not even aware," Ganyu murmured.
Realizing the truth, Keqing exhaled in relief.
"Alright," Keqing said with a smile. "At least no one's going to stop us from building."
"In that case," she continued, her excitement rising, "can I claim a piece of land for my Guili Plains project?"
"Sure, build whatever you want," Kanzaki said, already turning away.
"But stick close for now — things can get dangerous here. Don't wander off until you get the hang of it."
---
As they walked through the village, Keqing and Ganyu's disbelief only grew.
Everything was made of blocks — villagers, houses, trees… even the cows and pigs.
When Keqing killed a chicken for food, it instantly dropped a neat chunk of cooked meat — no fire, no mess, just ready-to-eat poultry.
And somehow... it was heavy.
"This... this is insane!" Keqing gasped. "Just one of these could feed a whole family for a day!"
"This world's food supply alone could revolutionize Liyue's agriculture," Ganyu muttered in awe.
It didn't take long for them to reach the house Kanzaki had claimed.
It stood out from the rest — a rare two-story structure with a sloped roof, wooden walls, and even a bookshelf-lined interior.
"This... doesn't look too bad," Keqing admitted.
Kanzaki grinned smugly.
"Not bad, huh? Once I turn this place into a fortress, it'll be perfect."
His mind raced with plans — digging an underground vault for treasure storage, building a sky-high stone platform for auto-farms, and crafting Redstone machines for automatic mining.
He'd even round up these brain-dead villagers and build an iron farm for endless resources.
But first...
"Step one — claim the bed."
Kanzaki pushed the door open, stepping inside. The first floor was basic — a wooden table, four chairs (all square, of course), and torches mounted on the walls.
The torches glowed with steady warmth, yet they never burned out or consumed fuel.
Even when Ganyu tried to chill one with her Cryo energy, the flame just reignited instantly.
"A torch that never burns out?" Keqing whispered.
"This... this could solve so many problems!"
Her mind whirled with possibilities — streetlights in Liyue, portable emergency lamps for mining crews, and even military applications.
Kanzaki chuckled.
"If that impresses you, wait until I show you Redstone torches. That stuff's practically magic."
"Redstone... torches?" Ganyu asked, eyes widening.
"You'll see."
As they moved upstairs, Keqing noticed something else — a workbench and an anvil.
"A workbench!" Keqing exclaimed, running her hand over it.
"It's exactly like the one you built earlier!"
"Yeah, but check this out…" Kanzaki grinned.
He knocked on the workbench's side, and the thing barely even budged.
Keqing gave it a cautious push — nothing.
Even after channeling her Electro energy into her blade and slashing at it, the surface didn't show so much as a scratch.
"...This thing's indestructible," Keqing muttered.
"Maybe... maybe we could use this material to build prison cells back in Liyue."
Kanzaki grinned even wider.
"Oh, if you like that... you should see what I can do with bedrock."
---
Finally, they reached the second floor — where Kanzaki's precious bed awaited.
The room was small, lined with bookshelves and a single chest.
"Alright," Kanzaki declared, pointing to the bed like it was some divine artifact.
"Here's where we start!"
"...Start what, exactly?" Keqing asked cautiously.
"Start claiming territory!" Kanzaki grinned.
He jumped onto the bed, flopped down like a king claiming his throne, and sighed contentedly.
Keqing's eye twitched.
"...So you mean to tell me... after all that…"
"...Step one was getting a bed?"
"Exactly!" Kanzaki shot her a thumbs-up.
Ganyu sighed softly, a smile tugging at her lips.
"Well," she said, "if nothing else... at least he's thorough."
