There was a faint smile on Itadori's face.
Petra also raised the corners of her mouth slightly.
[The World] and [God Horus] appeared behind the man and the eagle.
Very intimidating!
Hawks' eyes flashed with fear for a moment before he laughed and said, "Please, spare me? I may not be an upright hero like All Might, but I still have to inform the Hero Association and U.A. High about this matter."
Itadori looked at him for a moment, then retracted [The World] back into his body.
Seeing this, Petra also withdrew God Horus.
"Don't fight a battle you're not sure of winning. That's wise."
With that, Itadori turned around and jumped off the building.
Hawks heaved a sigh of relief as he watched Itadori leave and muttered to himself, "Huh... What a dangerous guy. I don't want to get into a fight with someone like that."
Afterwards, Hawks picked up his phone, squinting as he said, "But I still have to notify the Hero Association and U.A. High."
---
On the bus back to Shizuoka, Itadori checked the time.
It was already late, and there was no need to go to school, so he told the driver, "Let's head to the Italian high-end clothing store."
"Master, aren't you going to U.A.?"
The driver cast a puzzled look at Itadori through the rearview mirror.
Itadori glanced at Petra standing at the back of the seat and smiled, "I have to get an outfit worthy of my pet, Petra."
Itadori didn't return to school until after classes had ended.
Aizawa, covered in bandages, had just returned to the office. Before he could take a step forward, Present Mic rushed in, grabbed his arm, and pulled him out.
"What's going on?"
Aizawa, being dragged by Mic, asked with a frown.
"Idiot! That Hawks is here again. I heard he's connected to one of your students."
"Hmm? Itadori?"
Hearing Mic's words, Aizawa immediately thought of Itadori, who hadn't attended class all day.
"That's right!"
The two reached the large U.A. conference room, where they found Principal Nezu, other U.A. staff, and Tsukauchi Naomasa already seated.
Standing next to the main seat was the No. 3 hero, Hawks.
All Might, in his muscular form, sat with an embarrassed look on his face. He had just managed to smooth over Itadori's "quirk-related incident" the previous night, and now something had happened again.
Could you please not work so efficiently?
Once Aizawa and Present Mic took their seats, Hawks said, "Um... sorry to intrude. I'm here on behalf of the Hero Association, regarding the Quirk battle that happened in Kanagawa this morning. The news has already covered it."
As he spoke, Principal Nezu turned on the projector, displaying a news item.
The image showed a city blanketed in a huge, shattered ice sphere.
"This Quirk…"
Aizawa frowned. The effect was identical to Todoroki's Quirk.
"The one who caused this is the second creature to ever awaken a Quirk after Principal Nezu."
Hawks pressed the projector remote, and a photo of Petra, her sharp eyes staring into the camera, appeared on the screen.
"And this morning, the scene in the photo occurred during her fight with your U.A. student, Itadori."
Hawks leaned over the table, "What's remarkable is that he actually subdued her. You know, she's wanted by the Hero Association."
His tone was laced with sarcasm.
Principal Nezu's face darkened.
All Might had just vouched for Itadori the day before, and here he was causing trouble again.
"Hawks, what is the Hero Association's stance on this matter?"
All Might asked, clearly anxious.
"We need to detain the bird. She's one of only two creatures worldwide to awaken a Quirk, and she's been responsible for human deaths. The research value is enormous."
Hawks added, "But the question is, will your prized student be willing to give her up?"
All Might froze, hesitated for a moment, then replied, "I don't think… that's likely."
Itadori had taken a leave of absence and traveled to a neighboring city, obviously for the bird.
Expect him to give her up? Not happening.
"I figured as much. If I'd tried to detain him when I was with him, he probably would've killed me, too."
Hawks laughed, spreading his hands in self-mockery.
Fearless even against the No. 3 hero?
The U.A. teachers were startled by the thought.
"Fortunately, the photos taken by the media weren't clear, and all the credit went to Hawks. Almost no citizens know about Itadori's involvement." Tsukauchi Naomasa commented.
"But we can't allow him to keep breaking the law." Principal Nezu said, "We should guide his potential, or he may end up like Shigaraki."
Tsukauchi frowned, "But we can't overlook his constant disregard for the rules. If not for Hawks, who knows how many could have been hurt today."
"But I also heard that Itadori's intervention saved seven heroes in Hawks' office, correct?"
Principal Nezu directed the question at Hawks.
"Yes… that's also true."
Hawks rubbed the back of his head.
"We hope you can negotiate with the Hero Association. Let U.A. take responsibility for Itadori and Petra. The U.A. Sports Festival is coming up, which is critical for stabilizing society post-USJ. Neither we nor the Hero Association want any issues at such a time."
"I don't mind, but whether the Association will agree is another question."
Hawks shrugged and left the room.
Principal Nezu turned to Tsukauchi and said seriously, "Officer Tsukauchi, we need strong fighters now. You've found evidence that 'he' may be preparing to make a move, right?"
Hearing this, All Might and Tsukauchi both looked deeply concerned.
The other teachers exchanged uneasy glances. Whoever Principal Nezu was referring to, he sounded formidable.
"Now, let's look forward to the Sports Festival and see what kind of impact Itadori and this new generation will bring."
Principal Nezu took a sip of coffee, finally ending the discussion.
But this was only the beginning.
---
Though Momo had been through many combat situations, she couldn't help but feel nervous about the U.A. Sports Festival, which would attract attention from all over.
This would be her first time stepping onto an official stage as a hero candidate.
After school, many students from general courses crowded around, blocking the doorway.
Momo felt a hint of relief that Itadori was on leave today. Who knew what he might do if provoked?
Stepping into her family courtyard, Momo froze in shock at the sight before her.
Lying on the lawn was a huge buffalo, its body marked with a long, narrow wound and blood staining the ground around it.
But what truly stunned her was Petra, perched atop the buffalo, tearing off a piece of raw meat.
It was the same eagle that had attacked her friends at U.A.!
Petra now sported a new look, complete with a silver helmet adorned with three upright feathers, resembling ancient battle gear.
A fine purple scarf wrapped around her neck, and a broken chain dangled from it.
Petra swallowed a piece of meat and gave Momo a cold stare, making her shudder.
Petra then took to the air, and, expecting an attack, Momo instantly created a pistol.
But instead, the eagle flew back to the mansion's entrance.
Itadori stepped outside just in time, and Petra landed gracefully on his shoulder.
"Welcome home, Momo."
Momo stared at the duo, barely able to process what she was seeing. "W-what… what is this?"
"The user of the Stand [God Horus], Petra. That's her name."
Itadori glanced at the buffalo carcass, "Petra prefers fresh meat, so I had the servants prepare it for her."
"You… tamed her?"
Momo was in disbelief, still recalling Petra's intense killing intent from before.
"It's no big deal."
Itadori waved his hand, and Petra flew to a corner at the mansion's rooftop, gazing into the distance.
"Did anything interesting happen at U.A. today?"
He reached over and playfully tugged at Momo's waist, clearly in high spirits after securing Petra.
Though initially uneasy, Momo found herself comforted by Itadori's presence.
She gently shook off his hand and said, "The U.A. Sports Festival is coming up next month. A lot of heroes and media will be watching…"
"Sounds boring."
Itadori shrugged, clearly uninterested.
"Even so, Itadori, you should aim to stand out."
