MHA: Harder Better Faster Stronger

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

The next day, Reiji headed toward U.A. High. As he got closer to the front entrance, he saw a crowd of reporters blocking the main gate.

They had Iida and Uraraka stuck in the middle, microphones pushed toward their faces.

"Who do you feel like now that All Might's teaching here?"

"Are the students safe?"

"What's it like training under the Number One Hero?"

Aizawa stood near the gate, trying to keep things calm. He waved a few students through while holding the reporters back.

Reiji stepped forward with the flow of students, staying low-profile but A chill flickered up the back of his neck. He turned his head, eyes sliding past the line of cameras.

A man was standing farther back. Away from the cluster of reporters. Not holding a camera. Not asking questions. Just watching.

Reiji held his gaze for a second..

Then turned back and kept walking.

Behind him, a metal shutter dropped with a hard clang. One reporter had tried to slip past the line. The security system caught her.

A few minutes later, everyone was seated in class.

Aizawa stood at the front with his usual tired expression. "Good work on yesterday's battle training," he said. "I reviewed all the results."

He turned slightly toward the back. "Bakugo, you lost because you acted selfish. You're talented, but don't act like a child."

Bakugo clicked his tongue and looked away.

Aizawa turned again. "Midoriya, you won, but you broke your arm again. That's not good enough. Don't give me the excuse that you can't control your Quirk. Fix it. Work harder."

Midoriya nodded, quiet.

"Now that's out of the way," Aizawa said. "Let's move on. This next part will help shape your future."

Some of the students glanced around.

"Another Quirk test?" Sero said.

"No. You're picking a class representative."

A mix of groans and surprised murmurs passed through the room.

"Oh… normal school stuff," Kaminari said, blinking.

Several hands shot up right away. Everyone started talking at once.

"I'll do it!"

"I can lead us!"

"Vote for me!"

"Hold on," Iida said, raising his hand. "Being class representative means setting an example. It's not something just anyone can do. You need the trust of your classmates. I think we should hold an election."

"But we barely know each other," Ashido said.

"Yeah, most people are just gonna vote for themselves," Kirishima added.

"That's fine," Iida replied. "The person who gets the most votes is probably the one best suited to lead."

He turned toward the front. "What do you think, Aizawa sensei?"

Aizawa was already back in his sleeping bag. "Whatever you do, just finish before my nap ends."

The votes went up on the board.

Midoriya Izuku – 3 votes

Kogane Reiji – 3 votes

Yaoyorozu Momo – 2 votes

"It's a tie," Asui said. "Between Midoriya and Reiji."

Some students looked back at Reiji. He hadn't raised his hand earlier. He hadn't campaigned.

Kaminari blinked. "Wait Reiji didn't even say anything. People still voted for him?"

"Guess he's got the vibe," Jirou said, arms crossed.

Reiji slowly raised his hand.

"Not interested" he said.

That quieted the room.

"Huh? But you tied," Kirishima said.

"Yeah, you got the votes," Ashido added.

"Not really my thing," Reiji said.

"I'm not here to manage forms or run errands. Let someone else handle it."

Iida looked like he was about to argue, but stopped. Midoriya looked over at Reiji, unsure.

Reiji nodded once toward him. "You take it."

Midoriya blinked. "I… uh…"

He didn't finish the sentence just stared for a second, clearly caught off guard.

Aizawa didn't even open his eyes. "Fine. Midoriya's class rep, Yaoyorozu is vice rep."

The cafeteria was loud as usual. Trays clattered. Students talked across tables. Reiji sat off to the side, eating quietly.

Then the alarm went off.

A sharp, continuous tone rang through the building.

Students jumped. Chairs scraped. Voices rang out.

"What is that?!"

"Is it a villain?!"

"Where's it coming from?!"

Reiji stood up, leaving his tray behind as he looked around.

Around him, chairs scraped back and voices rose in panic. Someone knocked over a desk behind him.

People ran toward the windows. A few pushed into the hallway.

He stayed to the side.

Is something was happening.

Across the hallway, the other students pushed toward the windows. A few were shouting. More were just clogging the way, unsure what to do.

Then Iida jumped onto the ledge. "Everyone, calm down! The intruders are just reporters! The barrier was breached, but this isn't a villain attack!"

Some of the panic dropped.

"We'll cause more problems crowding the hallway. Return to the cafeteria in an orderly fashion!"

Students finally started turning back. Teachers appeared to take over. By then, the energy had already settled.

Reiji watched the last few clear out.

He turned and walked back with the others.

Back in the classroom, Aizawa sat up slightly in his sleeping bag. Iida was near his desk, trying to catch his breath.

Ashido leaned forward. "Hey… maybe Iida should be class rep."

"Yeah," Kirishima said. "That was solid. Iida didn't panic at all.and handel situation like a pro"

Aizawa looked up. "Any objections?"

No one raised their hand.

"Alright. Iida, you're class rep. Yaoyorozu is vice rep."

Iida adjusted his glasses. "I… thank you, everyone. I'll take it seriously."

[TL: Hey guys! Let me know if anything felt off or didn't land right. I know this chapter stuck pretty close to canon and didn't add a lot of new detail so the plan was to release two chapters together.

I was planning to show more of Reiji and build his presence across two chapters, since he feels more like a background insert in this one. But I didn't finish the second chapter in time.

Open to any thoughts really appreciate the feedback!]

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
