MHA: Hands on, Quirks Up!

Chapter 33: Chapter 13: Part 2

My hands trembled.

Not from pain, not from fear, but from the anticipation from all the power flowing within me. My jaw locked for a second. Breathing felt tight.

More.

More!

MORE!

I wasn't done yet. Not even close.

I'll take everything you have to offer, you bird-brained piece of shit. Let me steal that super regeneration next. And then shock absorption. Every single Quirk out of your lab-grown carcass until you're just an unresponsive, limp puppet.

I'll hollow you out and leave your twitching carcass for your little boss to weep over.

I spared a glance toward the entrance.

The rest of the students were almost gone.

Uraraka and Hagakure had made it there while Shoji and Sato were the ones hauling Aizawa now instead of Midoriya and Asui.

Mina was arguing with Momo. I couldn't hear what she said, but her arms were flailing around. Kirishima stood behind her, fists clenched so hard I could see the tremble in his forearms. He kept glancing toward me, like he was expecting me to call them back.

The sentiment is nice, but I really don't need it.

Momo stepped in, calm as ever, probably saying something obvious like 'Henshin-san is the class representative. With Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen-sensei down, we have to follow his orders.'

Then, slowly, they both turned.

Just ahead of them, Todoroki and Bakugo were still standing there like morons. Of course they were. Idiots, both of them. Always thinking they had to be the ones in the frontline. I'm the only one good enough for that.

Just fuck off already, so I can really start trying.

Momo turned to them too. Said something, probably the same line.

She's such a good girl, knowing exactly what I want.

They hesitated, but followed the others.

About damn time. They all knew their place.

I turned back just in time to see Nomu's hand, the same one I had decayed.

It was perfectly fine. The flesh was back, and had no scars or blemishes.

I clenched my teeth, hard enough that my teeth ached.

Fine.

You want to flaunt that regeneration so badly? Alright, let's see how fast it works when I really start trying.

"I'm gonna gut you."

But Nomu moved first.

Nomu burst forward, a black blur surging through the dust with terrifying speed.

I immediately reacted, One For All stacked with those new strength and speed quirks, muscles screaming as I pivoted.

Still not fast enough.

It barreled into me. Its hand wrapped around my torso like a clamp, fingers digging in deep. My armor cracked and shrieked as it caved inward under the pressure.

Shit. I only had my arms fully transformed, while the rest of my body was just coated in armor.

My ribs. My fucking ribs!

The claws dug in, puncturing through metal and into flesh.

"Ghhaa—!"

A snarl ripped out of my throat as I tried to counter, swinging one hand toward its wrist. But Nomu batted it away like it was nothing.

I swung with the other, trying to touch its throat instead. Same result.

Tomura shouted in the background, shrill and ragged: "DON'T LET HIM TOUCH YOU WITH HIS HANDS!"

Nomu obeyed like a loyal dog.

A goddamn freaky meat dog.

You son of a bitch... My ribs compressed under its grip. Breathing hurt.

"You don't want to be touched?" I growled through my teeth, voice rasping. "Alright, let's see you avoid these!"

A bunch of tentacles erupted outward from my shoulders, writhing like a nest of snakes. At the tip of each were hands.

Not one.

Not two.

Seven.

One gripped its thigh. Another its upper arm. Two latched around its side. One went for the wrist. Another tangled around its neck. A final one anchored to the center of its spine.

Got you.

Decay surged through every contact point at once. A storm of corrosion and rot.

Nomu let out an unholy shriek, a sound full of hate and rage, deeper than pain.

Music to my ears.

With a howl, it slammed me into the concrete so hard the ground cratered around me. Before I could even grunt, it yanked me up again and hurled me across the battlefield.

My body ragdolled until it crashed into a wall.

Blood flooded my mouth. My chest barely moved when I breathed.

The only thing I could do was laugh.

Grin wide and stained red.

Utterly unhinged.

"That's right..." I coughed, tongue thick with blood. "Scream for me, you freak."

It's so fucking annoying though.

No matter what I hit it with, how much power I stacked, Nomu still had more. Even with One For All and those stolen speed and strength quirks coursing through my veins, that thing was built like a goddamn war machine.

But why the hell am I even playing by the rules anymore?

There's no one here to scold me for overdoing it. Just me, this freakshow science project, the slightly more stable babysitter, and the twitchy hand-fetish bastard behind it.

Let's actually get serious now.

No more rules, no limits.

I pushed myself back up. Some blood dripped onto my chin, but I didn't care. I hurled myself forward, feet pounding against cracked stone. My right arm twisted, reshaping until the metal swirled into a curved, vicious battle axe.

But my target wasn't Nomu. The one I set my sights on was Tomura.

His smug, twitchy little smirk broke. The bastard actually flinched. He tried scrambling back, but he wasn't fast enough. "NOMU!!!"

Didn't have to be, though.

Because right on cue, the dog obeyed its master.

It moved in a blur, slamming itself right between the two of us. Exactly what I wanted.

At the moment before impact, my axe-arm narrowed into a sharp metal stake.

I drove it straight into Nomu's shoulder, right between muscle and joint.

"You're not going anywhere, anymore" I hissed.

More tentacles snapped out from my back and shoulders, writing into position. One sprouted an eye, and locked onto Tomura and Kurogiri. My version of Aizawa's Erasure flaring to life, weakening their quirks if they tried to get involved.

My own gaze pinned itself to Nomu, suppressing its regeneration slightly.

Time to finish this.

I don't need All Might.

The other tentacles lashed out like snakes, each one tipped with a hand that latched onto Nomu's legs. One on each thigh. Another on both calves. The knees and ankles weren't spared either. Every point I could clamp down on.

I'm not going to let it move at all.

My left arm twisted into another stake, longer and sharper than the first. I drove it into Nomu's chest. Blood spurted, black and thick.

My right arm morphed again, first into a machete.

I raised it.

Swung down.

Sliced clean through my own limb.

There was no blood, my arm was already fully transformed. It didn't stop it from hurting like a bitch, though.

The stake was still embedded in Nomu's chest. I stomped down with my boot to steady it. Then shifted my machete arm again, forming a massive sledgehammer.

I raised it and slammed it down.

THUD.

The stake drove deeper, cracking into the ground.

Nomu shrieked. A beast's voice, all lungs and no language.

So what? I was just getting started.

I regenerated my left hand mid-motion, reformed it into another stake.

Chop. Drop. Hammer.

THUD.

Another through the opposite shoulder.

THUD.

Over and over. Each one driven into its flesh. Shoulder, bicep, elbow, chest. I nailed its entire upper body to the ground.

Nomu thrashed, but it was slowed. Every movement fought against the stakes. It tried to lift its arms, to reach up, but the joints were pinned flat, hammer in with precision. Meanwhile, my tentacles coiled tight around its lower body, anchored like chains.

"STAY DOWN."

And they didn't just hold.

They decayed.

Every second they stayed latched on, the flesh beneath them withered and split.

I looked down at the behemoth nailed to the ground.

Finally, I stood above it, panting, chest heaving, body twitching from pain and adrenaline.

My complete victory.

My arms twisted back into shape, completely normal now.

I reached down. Slow and reverent.

My hand gripped its freaky bird beak.

"Gimme those last two."

I start pulling once more, straight from its core.

First came the Shock Absorption. Right behind it was Super Regeneration.

Eight.

I've never felt so alive.

It hit like morphine. The ache in my chest disappeared. My ribs realigned. Cuts sealed.

This power is amazing!

I didn't stop there.

I placed both palms flat against Nomu's face, gently caressing it. Almost like I was cradling something precious.

"Don't worry," I cooed, my voice low and mockingly soft. "It'll all be over soon."

Then I pushed down with both hands, my tone splitting into a triumphant growl.

"Die for me."

Nomu howled again, its body convulsing as grey veins crawled up its neck and across its face, decay spreading through the thick hide of its monstrous skull.

"You're not scary," I laughed. "You're not strong. You're not even human."

The stakes rattled as it thrashed harder, bones splintering against the force I'd pinned it with.

"You're nothing."

I leaned closer.

"I own you."
