Chapter 67: : The Mech Without a Driver
📘 Chapter 67
⚙️ Scene 1: Earth's Breath Holds
In the aftermath of the cosmic rift, Zeron crashes back onto Earth, falling through clouds of plasma fire, barely holding Deus Krono's form together. His body is scorched. His energy, drained.
Deus Krono (telepathic): "You saw him… didn't you? The other you."
Zeron coughs, his hands trembling.
Zeron: "He warned me… about her. About Zui."
Deus Krono: "Then you know. What she is... or rather, what lies within her."
Thunder cracks the sky. Velos' ship vanishes, leaving only a burning trail above the stratosphere.
Earth goes silent.
And then it comes.
🌀 Scene 2: The Arrival of the Mech Without a Driver
In the heart of Kyro City, amidst sirens and evacuation alarms, a strange shape descends.
A mech.
But no driver inside.
Its armor pulses with ancient markings, its core blinks with a violet rhythm—not pure Krono, but something… older.
Kairen (monitoring via hologram): "We're getting no signal. It's operating without a pilot. That's not possible."
The mech lands gently in the main plaza, kneels, and bows its head toward Zui, who had just run outside in panic after the tremors.
Zui: "Why… is it looking at me?"
Kairen: "That's not a look. That's recognition."
🔬 Scene 3: Zake's Time Spiral Deepens
In a hidden chamber beneath the Academy, Zake's visions intensify. This time, he doesn't just see the future—he walks through it.
He meets a strange figure cloaked in jagged light and broken circuitry: Vael, a being claiming to be from the First Krono Era.
Vael: "You don't belong to time. Time belongs to you."
Zake: "I just want to protect my sister."
Vael: "Then understand: She is the last gatekeeper of the Forgotten Core. If she awakens it fully… it will choose a new god."
Zake's body begins to glow faintly green—a sign.
Vael: "Your Krono is emerging. But not from within you. From another lifetime."
💔 Scene 4: Zui's Awakening Begins
Later that night, the driverless mech stands guard outside their apartment.
Zui stares at it through the window.
In her dreams, she walks through corridors of machines, suspended in space, all whispering one word:
"Emissary… Emissary… Emissary…"
She stands before a throne built from gears and code. And at its base, a woman who looks exactly like her, but older, crowned in amethyst light.
Future Zui: "You're not ready. But you will be. The Core has chosen you… because it remembers."
Zui (fearful): "I'm not… a warrior."
Future Zui: "You're not. You're something more dangerous. A creator."
She wakes up gasping—her hands glowing.
⚔️ Scene 5: Velos Revealed
High above Earth, in an orbital station known as Black Nucleus, Velos meditates in a dark chamber. Around him float shards of stolen Krono cores.
Velos: "He survived the rift. Good. Then let him witness true despair."
A figure appears—female, with void-black armor, calling herself Xerra, High Emissary of the Invading Realm.
Xerra: "You are not from our world. But your hatred… is familiar."
Velos: "I want one thing. The Core. I don't care about your war."
Xerra: "You will get your chance. But first… you must destroy the Emissary."
They activate a new project: Kera-Vault—a corrupted mech infused with Krono parasites. Its only goal: locate and destroy the Core-bonded soul.
🧩 Scene 6: The Mech Speaks
Late into the night, Zui steps out to the mech.
It lowers its arm, revealing a glowing glyph.
Zui: "You understand me."
She touches the glyph. A soft, feminine voice echoes—not machine, not human.
Mech Voice: "Unit Designation: AEON-ZERO. Core Command… recognized."
Zui's breath stops.
Zui: "What are you?"
AEON-ZERO: "I am the last gift… from the First Era. And you… are the last of the Emissaries."
