Nakano Maruo stared at Hakuto in front of him. Hakuto's face was calm and relaxed, full of smiles, as if he wasn't joking at all.

Nakano Maruo took a deep breath. He didn't explode. For something like this, he definitely needed to get the facts straight first.

Since their first meeting, this was the first time a trace of displeasure appeared on the face of this powerful man.

"Hakuto-kun... I hope what you just said was a joke..." Nakano Maruo stood in front of the desk, glaring fiercely at Hakuto.

What Hakuto didn't realize was that to Nakano Maruo, that smile of his was pure mockery—blatant, direct mockery.

"Mr. Maruo, don't you want to know who I meant by 'my girlfriends'?" Hakuto sat back down in the chair and looked straight at him.

"I don't want to know..." Maruo figured he'd get the truth from his daughters themselves—there was no need to hear it from Hakuto.

Right now, he didn't even want to see Hakuto's smiling face.

"Hakuto-kun... Some money isn't that easy to take..."

Seeing the dangerous expression on Nakano Maruo's face, Hakuto also lost interest in teasing this soon-to-be father-in-law.

So he waved his hand and dropped the smile from his face, switching to a more serious demeanor.

"Alright, alright, I'll stop joking around with you, Mr. Maruo."
