George raised an eyebrow.

"Well then, forget it. I'll only learn Apparition."

Without hesitation, he turned to leave the magic crash course center.

Judging from the shop's condition and the witch's attire, he had already deduced that this place was likely struggling financially, and its business performance was poor.

It made sense. These kinds of magic crash courses generally only attract students during summer vacation. The rest of the year, they have to rely on fooling Squibs or gullible adult wizards to stay afloat.

But even these less discerning wizards are limited in number. And if they do enroll, they typically choose larger, more reputable training centers. Small operations like this one hardly stand a chance at recruiting students.

Precisely because of this, they're more likely to accept requests that bigger training centers would outright refuse.

Of course, George wasn't truly planning to leave—he was just baiting her.

To ensure his act was convincing, he deliberately exposed the bulging pouch of gold Galleons tied at his waist as he turned around.

"Wait, young man, please hold on!"

The witch's eyes seemed to catch sight of the pouch. Without hesitation, she vanished on the spot with a perfectly executed Apparition and reappeared in front of George, blocking his way.

"Actually, it's not impossible to negotiate," she said hurriedly, "but the fee might be a bit higher."

She hadn't had a single customer in two months, and the rent for her shop was about to become unpayable.

From her experience over the years, even during peak season, her tiny storefront couldn't attract many students.

But if this young man's payment was more than what she typically earned over an entire summer, then the risk might just be worth taking.

"Aren't you afraid of getting caught and fined?" George asked, a hint of surprise flashing across his face as he glanced at her.

He hadn't expected her Apparition skills to be so impressive.

After all, even though Apparition was the same spell, its effectiveness varied greatly depending on the wizard's skill level.

The first factor was distance. The most advanced wizards, such as Dumbledore, could Apparate across countries.

A small fraction of wizards could manage intercity travel, while the majority couldn't even cross a city. They were limited to short-range Apparition, and anything farther required multiple jumps, which could take a toll on their bodies.

Of course, unless they had masochistic tendencies, most wizards wouldn't subject themselves to that.

The second factor was time.

Ordinary wizards typically needed two to three seconds to perform Apparition. In a battle, that was more than enough time to get hit by multiple spells.

For this reason, most wizards could only use Apparition for traveling—not combat.

More skilled wizards, however, could reduce the casting time to less than a second, enabling them to use Apparition to dodge spells and launch counterattacks.

Take Newt from Fantastic Beasts, for instance. During his battles with Grindelwald, he frequently used Apparition.

It was clear that this witch, despite her seemingly unimpressive appearance, had extraordinary skill. From the moment she disappeared to when she reappeared in front of George, barely a second had passed. She was undoubtedly an Apparition expert.

"I can avoid getting fined," the witch said confidently. "But as for the tuition fee, I'll need 100 gold Galleons.

"However, let me make one thing clear: if you back out midway because you're afraid of the pain of Splinching, the fee is non-refundable!"

She boldly named her price.

"And don't worry—before this, I worked as an Auror for the Ministry of Magic. I guarantee my teaching skills are top-notch."

"One hundred Galleons? Fine. As long as you can teach me Apparition before the end of summer, you'll get every single one of them," George replied without hesitation.

George's eyes lit up the moment he heard the witch mention she had been an Auror. Without hesitation, he pulled out the pouch from his waist, revealing the glimmering gold Galleons inside.

He wasn't worried about the witch trying to scam him; his only concern was whether her Apparition skills were good enough to teach him.

After all, he wasn't some frail, first-year wizard. At his current level, he couldn't take on someone like Dumbledore in a head-to-head fight—especially without the top-tier magical wands from the Fairy Tail world to amplify his power.

But against ordinary wizards? He could handle them without breaking a sweat. Even against a skilled wizard like Snape, he stood a good chance of winning in a direct confrontation.

His strength wasn't limited to the magic from the Harry Potter universe. He had nearly mastered his psychic abilities, learned advanced magic from the Fairy Tail world, and possessed a body far stronger than the average wizard.

If this witch dared to cross him, he could make her disappear from the world as silently as he had done with his adoptive father at the start.

That said, the witch had already proven herself. Her skill with Apparition was undoubtedly exceptional.

The only mystery left was why, despite once being an Auror, she had ended up in such a miserable state.

"Deal," George said. "Prepare yourself and settle things with your family. We're leaving for Paris, France, tomorrow!"

The witch's eyes sparkled as she stared at the pile of gold Galleons, nearly drooling.

George froze for a moment. "Wait, what did you say? Paris, France?"

"Yes," the witch confirmed. "The French Ministry of Magic isn't as strict about Apparition. Even if we're caught, they'll only issue a warning.

"Honestly, the U.S. is even more lenient, but it's too far, and the travel costs would be outrageous."

She explained further.

Traveling from London to Paris and registering with the Ministry of Magic only cost 15 silver Sickles per person when using a Portkey. But going to New York required 2 gold Galleons each.

Besides, she was more familiar with Paris. She had completed missions there before and had acquaintances who could provide her with free lodging. She didn't know anyone in New York.

"Fine, Paris it is," George relented. "But I don't have a family—I'm an orphan. No need for any notifications."

He nodded to himself.

If Paris was more relaxed about Apparition, learning there would be fine. Plus, it would give him a chance to explore Paris's magical district, which was said to be larger than Diagon Alley.

Maybe he could find some rare magical books.

"By the way, my name's George," he added.

"You can call me Amy," the witch said with a smile, extending her pale hand.

"Now, I'll need a deposit of 20 gold Galleons. You can pay the remaining 80 once you've mastered Apparition."

"No problem."

George took out 20 gold Galleons and placed them in Amy's hand.

After agreeing on the time and location for their departure the next day, George left the cramped little shop.

Once he was gone, the witch muttered to herself, "Since when were orphans this rich? And why does this kid look so familiar?"

She thought about it for a moment but couldn't place him. Convinced she was overthinking, she shrugged it off.

"Finally! Some money! Tonight, I'm drinking to my heart's content!"

Weighing the Galleons in her hand, Amy locked up the shop and began humming a cheerful tune as she headed toward the Leaky Cauldron.

At the very least, she wouldn't be short on booze for a while.
