Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Arrival at Alpha_1

Several days later, when the ship was nearly at the Dragon Gate Space Station and the number of mecha shuttles around had manifolded, the grand space station was already faintly visible. Less than two hours away from the station, the star-crossing orbital path was continuously flashing with an awe-inspiring blue halo, leaving countless redshifts in the dim starry sky.

There was sudden cheering from the lower deck of the ship! The Dragon Gate Space Station was nearly there! This station served as a hub to large galactic sectors and continually hosted countless merchant ships due to its thriving trade. It was location five for space jumps in the Atlantis Free Federation and allowed direct access to the Solar System, Alpha star domain, Big Macs planet, and other public coordinates within the Federation.

However, with the breakout of a war between two significant powers in recent years, the Atlantis Free Federation and the Saudi Empire had been drawn into the vortex of power struggle. Battle fires swept over both forces, each playing their respective role. The bustling scene once so characteristic of the Number 5 Dragon Gate Space Station had dwindled significantly.

Nevertheless, a family of four stepping off the ship was moved to tears with excitement. Watching the continuous stream of people, they, as lawful citizens of the federation, had longed countless times to leave the Number 103 Colonial Planet while still alive. And here they were, finally back home.

Feng Yi knew that after this, the family would no longer need his protection. "Let's part here, everybody." Before anyone could reply, he had already disappeared into the crowd.

Honestly, escaping from the Number 103 Colonial Planet was not an easy task. Fortuitously situated on the Dragon Gate Space Station, Feng Yi felt a surge of emotions. But he could not afford to linger, as the station was costly to stay in. The small amount of money he had left meant that every second of his stay here was a challenge to his wallet. Therefore, Feng Yi bought only a few bags of compressed biscuits and headed straight for the entrance to the Alpha flight without taking a break.

During the confirmation of his identity, a beautiful robot lady scanned Feng Yi's body once. Her intelligent eyes twinkled for more than ten seconds before finally confirming his identity. Details about him had been stored in the database and dated back more than a decade.

The spacecraft to Alpha was a Level B mecha shuttle, named White Pig. The shuttle's 800m length, 200m width, and 80m height, along with its grey-white color and shark-like appearance, had earned it the nickname 'Shark Head.' Known as the fastest shuttle in the Federation for its top speed of 0.7 times light speed, it was precisely because of this reason that Feng Yi had chosen it. Although he had to wait in the lobby for more than a day, he believed it was worth it.

Feng Yi soon followed the crowd onto the shuttle. The next part of his journey was a half-month-long interstellar travel. Departure from a space station was on the itinerary. Shortly after the passengers boarded the shuttle, an artificial voice from the loudspeaker soon announced preparations for departure. A few minutes later, the White Pig would be thrust into the warp speed phase by the Dragon Gate Space Station using an antimatter particle beam. With the passage of time, the light from the Dragon Gate Space Station surged tremendously. Passengers felt a shift in their body weight. Then, everyone in the shuttle was 3/5 of a second behind the present time. The magnificent star river disappeared in a flash...

At that moment, the 13 milligrams of antimatter consumed by the Dragon Gate Space Station was worth hundreds of space crystals. From a different perspective, this reflected the true value of the space crystal that Feng Yi wore. Undeniably, space crystals were extremely rare commodities. Their high market price made them practically unavailable. Feng Yi could not figure out where the old Lasso found the space crystal for him.

Unbeknownst to many, Lasso's real identity was that of a hermit wandering in the star sea, in a constant search of an heir to carry on the legacy of the first generation's successors.

But who left this legacy behind? No one knew what he looked like. All they knew was that he was a brave warrior draped in a black cape with a face mask. He had left behind a legend hundreds of years ago...

The blade of judgement; the absolute creed; the man known as a legend; the warrior that earned gold coins by slaying violent and evil outlaws; the sniper that traversed in the dark, exuding slight glimmers of light; the unbeatable ranger who wielded a silver spear to rectify the world's injustice; the super hero who piloted the Scarlet Mecha across the world. In that era, it was often dismissed as absurd sprechgesang that only the strong survived and the weak perished. However, if injustice emerged, the Scarlet Bounty Hunter would fight wholeheartedly for you.

As the saying goes, spearheads emerge when Blood Hunters traverse the world. The Ancient Martial Arts of the Yanhuang Soul, unique for generations, emerged from the dust of history. It swept across the four corners of the world when the blade was drawn! The Wind Power, which was the technique Lasso left to Feng Yi, combined the Ancient Martial Arts of the Yanhuang Soul and the modern military combat tactics. Even if he were to be killed, Feng Yi would not believe that a swindler could leave him anything valuable, but he had to admit that this legacy was an exception. And now, he had somewhat come to understand it.

Feng Yi was an abandoned child that Lasso picked up during his time wandering on Earth. Unexpectedly, the kid was so resilient that he survived life on a high-gravity Colonial Planet. Alas, Lasso was a man of humble talent. Consequently, he enforced his plans, leaving Feng Yi to gain some experience on a Colonial Planet.

Lasso knew his fate and believed he had fulfilled his duty as a guardian. He hoped that the kid, who was a jackass, could comprehend the mysteries of the universe and become a patriotic young man.

Sadly, the authentic Storm Stance disappeared from the world long ago. The so-called 32 Forms of the Wind Power, widely spread among the public, were at most a set of exercises for fitness. Could they be considered as Tai Chi or military boxing? To sum it up, the Wind Power is suitable for all ages. It strengthens the physique and looks cool too, hence it is popular among young people.

But the 32 Forms of the Wind Power were nowhere near the real Storm Stance that Feng Yi practiced. Martial Arts has endless changes, but all changes remain with its origins. The Storm Stance, which broke down the traditions, was formless. How can we speak of its techniques? Miracles always occurred when one was down-to-earth. After the legendary Blood Hunter, there was no such thing as True Martial Arts in this world. The so-called Storm Stance was the only one, and it could only be truly understood with an unyielding faith in battle.

It was well-known that the Alpha Star Domain, which admired martial arts, was teeming with martial artists. Lasso hoped that Feng Yi could fully understand this inheritance there.

But who understood Sir Feng's predicament? The long interstellar journey was tedious and boring. After an agonizing wait of ten days, the White Pig finally arrived at Alpha on a sunny afternoon.

Compared to the Number 3 Colonial Planet, summer seemed to have arrived much earlier here. Stepping onto Alpha, Feng Yi's emotions were inevitably in turmoil! It had been three days since he last ate. Though he supposed his stomach could hang on for a little while longer, Feng Yi couldn't resist cursing inwardly. It was a bit of a stretch for the old ghost to ask him to find a place called Ancient Martial Arts Hall in the vast Alpha planet.

This city of Alpha, however, could be described as gorgeous. The highly technological city, with hovering cars flying all over, gave him a surreal feeling. The star river view was a visual shock, and as seen through the artificial sun, girls' hair fluttered in the wind against the backdrop of the green lawns, seemingly a scene from a painting.

Although the textbooks mentioned it, it was a completely different experience when being there in person. Feng Yi was eager to complain at this moment: where the hell is the Ancient Martial Arts Hall?
