Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Pop Star Athena_1

Feng Yi slumped on the ground, looking mournfully like a beggar. No doubt his simple black martial arts uniform is unusual on Alpha. However, this could not conceal the natural charisma that Feng Yi emanated from within. With a grave look on his face, he was indeed mulling over his financial situation. A man needs money to be a hero, and for days now, he hadn't had anything to eat or drink. he wasn't sure how much longer the few coins he had could last.

Unbeknownst to Feng Yi, a luxury car had quietly parked in front of him. Lost in thought or perhaps dazed from hunger, the normally acute Feng Yi did not notice it.

Only when the faint scent of perfume reached him did he notice. Looking up, he saw a graceful figure approaching. The girl, wearing large sunglasses, squatting slightly, placed a bill in front of him. She seemed quite serene.

Feng Yi's keen eyes regarded the figure before him, could it be… Athena, the famous singer? The beloved Star of the Federation herself. Despite growing up on the Colonial Planet, he could still receive signals from neighbouring satellites from weeks ago.

Indeed, the serene girl standing before Feng Yi was none other than Athena, the world's darling. With her exquisite facial features and stunningly beautiful face, she who was born on Alpha, is renowned for her endless charity work. Athena's gentle smile even amazed Feng Yi; it was like she was wrapped in a dazzling light.

However, Feng Yi was not a star chaser. Seeing Athena gave him a feeling of shock—did she consider him a beggar? Embarrassed, Feng Yi coughed, "Uh, please take back your pity."

"Huh?" Athena paused, looking completely surprised. She had not expected such a response from someone in his situation. She broke into a smile that seemed to raise the surrounding temperature, "I meant no pity. I just wanted to offer a little help to someone in need. If you don't mind…" Her voice was as enchanting as a angel's song.

"Well…" Feng Yi hesitated. It appeared that Athena was acting pretentiously, making Feng Yi feel indescribable. "All right," he replied. "I, Feng Yi, will remember this kindness…" But before he could finish, he was interrupted by a loud voice from the car, "The concert is about to begin, get in the car now!"

"I know." Athena responded. She politely stepped back, quickly turned round, and ran off—seemingly without worrying about the money she left behind. After getting into the car, she dramatically clutched her chest, pretending to be an ordinary girl was not easy for her. As a Plastic Person, nobody knew the real Athena was suffering from a terminal illness and was currently in a cryonic chamber.

However, this was a necessary response to the Federation's political needs. After all, Athena's influence was vast, and in times of war, any rumors could be exploited by those with ulterior motives. With enemy politicians fanning the flames, rampant rumors would only destabilize the military and the public. Athena's significance was much more profound than just being a pop star.

With a roar of the engine, the hovering car disappeared, leaving Feng Yi hit by gust of wind. Quickly, Feng Yi sprung up and snatched the bill from the ground. His swift movements were like a whetted blade.

With a series of flips, Feng Yi quickly clambered onto a towering building. Truth to be told, he was not accustomed to the gravity on Alpha, which was similar to Earth's. It dulled his combat senses.

Feng Yi re-read the note left by his grandpa, Lasso… Damn, he had it right. The old man did ask him to find a place named Ancient Martial Arts Hall on the enormous planet of Alpha, promising someone would meet him there. Nothing more to go on.

Looking down at the crowded street below, Feng Yi jumped down, "Excuse me, miss, do you know of a place called the Ancient Martial Arts Hall?"

"No idea."

In the grand scheme of things, Feng Yi felt like he was being mocked by something. He asked a few more people and got the same results. With no other options left, it seems he had no other choice but to tighten his belt and spend money online. In no time, Feng Yi found the specific locations of several Ancient Martial Art Halls on a micro search engine. But there were so many! Could there really be more than ten Ancient Martial Arts Halls?

The closest one to Alpha Spaceport was still over a hundred kilometers away. Even with his agility, it would take some time to get there. Feng Yi, for all his skills and powerful bursts of energy, suffered from short legs, a congenital defect. This weakness was always his Achilles' heel.

It was indeed a sad state of affairs. Due to his upbringing, the harsh laws of survival on the Colonial Planet No. 3 had led to Feng Yi's unconventional experiences. From the age of six, Lasso was often absent, leaving not a scrap of food behind—it was a deliberate move by Lasso to make him more independent by forcing him to interact with others.

However, Yang Tian is a stubborn individual. To survive, he chose to step out of the poverty-stricken ghetto's gravity field, subjecting his body to the strain of eight times the normal gravity. He would crouch on the ground like a cheetah waiting for its prey to approach, stockpiling energy for one explosive burst. Sometimes he would crouch like this for several days. This method actually became a shortcut for Feng Yi to grow rapidly and was a contributing factor to Lasso giving him the legacy item.

Looking back, the last decade had passed in the blink of an eye, and his lack of endurance had not changed much. Looking forward to the future, the road ahead promised the unknown. The farthest Ancient Martial Hall from the spaceport is tens of thousands of kilometers away, almost half a planet away. Feng Yi shook his head with a bitter smile, it would not be wise to find it by elimination method. He had to resort to his last option.

This so-called last resort was not particularly clever, it simply involved him using his computer knowledge to contact all the several martial arts halls one by one and state his identity.

Since his childhood, Feng Yi had always been partial to ancient martial arts and Mecha. Even though Lasso would leave him for long periods, he had brought him quite a few computers to study. Feng Yi, however, never really focused on knowledge. On that planet without internet, he had no interest in learning. He is definitely capable of hacking into the Sky Network, or use other social work techniques—he just disdained to do it.

After two days of arduous collecting of data, Feng Yi was sure that the Ancient Martial Arts Hall in Deseria City is the place he was looking for. When he dialed the light screen number, he saw a familiar face in the virtual projection on the other end. It was an old geezer who claimed to be Lasso's old war buddy.

When Feng Yi was young, the old geezer had brought his two clueless grandsons for training on Prison Planet, one was named Francis, and the other was named Goru. The old man and the two boys stayed for two years, so Feng Yi had a vivid impression of him. Because of this, Feng Yi and the two boys established a deep friendship.

And now, to think that he could meet this old geezer again in such a way, Feng Yi slapped his forehead with a look of dismay on his face.
