2-İnconsistencies
Brooklyn was having a typical weekend. The news was filled with the deeds of crime syndicates and the two Spider-Men trying to stop them.
"So boring..." Gwen said, shutting off the TV with the remote.
She didn't have school today. So, her options were either to lounge at home or to put on her costume and search for the criminals who hurt her brother.
"I still haven't found out where they are..." Gwen whispered to herself.
For three whole years, she had been searching for the criminals who hurt her brother. But all she could find out was that they were the New York branch of the Maggie crime syndicate. Which meant the syndicate she was looking for was international.
Gwen looked at her brother's room with a sad expression on her face. There was a great sorrow in her eyes, even more guilt than sorrow.
*If I hadn't gone to the bar that day, maybe my brother wouldn't be on his deathbed now,* Gwen thought.
Gwen's self-blaming, sorrowful thoughts were interrupted by her phone vibrating.
DZZZZZ! DZZZZZ
Gwen picked up the phone, wondering who could be calling at this hour.
When she saw who was calling, her heart tightened, and her hands started shaking. The caller was none other than the nurse who had looked after her brother last time, three years ago.
"how can I help you?" Gwen stuttered nervously.
The nurse must have noticed Gwen's trembling voice because she chuckled and reassured Gwen.
"Calm down, Gwen, I have good news," she said, "Your brother woke up!"
Upon hearing these words, Gwen froze.
"What? But the doctor said it was impossible for my brother to wake up."
"The doctor doesn't know everything, Gwen. Now hurry and come to the hospital."
With these words, the call ended. Gwen still stared at her phone with a bewildered expression on her face. After a few seconds, the shock faded, replaced by a big smile.
She got up from the couch and dashed straight to her room.
There was a large drum in the corner of her room. She quickly pushed it aside and grabbed her costume underneath.
After putting on her costume in a hurry, she packed her clothes into a bag and put the bag on her back. Then she opened the window and leaped outside.
Using the mechanism on her wrist, she shot a web onto the tops of buildings and headed towards the hospital at full speed.
...
Gwen stood in front of the hospital where her brother was. Since the door was open, she could easily hear what was being said inside.
Nurse: "I've informed your sister. I'm sure she'll be here soon."
In response to these words.
Zephyr: "Thank you for your efforts..."
When Gwen heard this trembling and weak voice, she felt a pang in her heart. There was nothing left of the cheerful and lively voice from before.
"Whew... okay, time to go in," Gwen sighed.
Gwen grabbed the door handle and gently pushed it open.
Noticing the movement at the door, the nurse and Zephyr turned their heads towards Gwen.
Likewise, Gwen was looking at Zephyr's weak face. Words stuck in her throat, and she felt like she would cry if she spoke.
After a few seconds of silent staring, Zephyr was the first to speak.
"Are you just going to stand there?"
Hearing these words, Gwen walked quickly towards Zephyr and hugged him. As soon as she hugged her brother, tears began to flow from her eyes.
"I'm sorry..." Gwen whispered as she hugged her brother.
Hearing this, Zephyr smiled and forced his right hand up to stroke Gwen's head. His body was in a terrible condition, and moving his limbs was very difficult for him.
"You didn't do anything wrong," Zephyr said.
...
It's been a week since I talked to Gwen. I stayed in the hospital for this week, and finally, today, I'm going to be discharged from the hospital.
When the doctor told me that I had been asleep for three years, I was very surprised. According to what he told me, a bullet grazed my heart, and living for three years was a miracle.
During these three years in the hospital, I learned many things that I already knew. First of all, Iron Man, Hulk, and two Spider-Men appeared. Except for Hulk, the others became heroes. In fact, according to what Gwen told me, no one knows where Hulk is. Except for me.
Right now, he's probably hiding in India.
Of course, this may not be true. In the Marvel universe I know, there was only one Spider-Man, and he was male. In this universe, there are two of them, one male and one female. Also, Iron Man's appearance in this universe is in 2016. In the universe I know, it should have been in 2011.
So, this universe is not the Marvel universe I know. And the biggest change is not these. In this universe, there are nightbringers. No one knows where they get their powers from or what their goals are. Except for me...
Nightbringers get their power from the first Nightbringer. As far as I
know, the first Nightbringer existed before the universe and time. This means that their power is beyond my imagination.
The only goal of the Nightbringers is to bring chaos to the universe. As they do this, their powers will increase even more. The real important point was that something was missing in this universe.
Dawnbringers.
According to the information implanted in my mind, Dawnbringers were beings created to maintain order. Just like the Nightbringers, they got their power from the first Dawnbringer.
But according to what Gwen said, Dawnbringers never existed in this universe.
This situation is quite complicated. If there are no Dawnbringers in this universe, it means I'm the only one. I am the last of my kind and my brother.
I am also a Nightbringer. A hybrid god who feeds on chaos and order. As far as I understand, I get my Nightbringer powers directly from the system. So I'm not dependent on anyone.
"This universe is definitely complicated... this is going to be fun," I whispered.
