Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 283: C182(1)

After returning to the Marvel world, this was the first time Kain felt even a hint of weakness in his stamina. Despite his enhanced physical abilities, his opponent was no pushover either.

The combined resilience of the Uzumaki constitution and the regenerative power of the Nine Tails' chakra pushed him to his limits.

After Kushina's clothes softened and she finally begged for mercy, Kain headed to see Yakushi Nono.

She greeted him in a cheongsam-style nurse's uniform with high slits, paired with long white silk stockings. With Nono's usual cold expression, Kain could only think 'she knows me too well.'

After returning home, Kain sat quietly on the sofa for a while. He'd burned through all his "ammunition" in one day—worthy of a heroic warrior, no less.

It wasn't until a green snake slithered in from outside and rubbed against his feet that Kain snapped out of his daze.

' I really need to find some genes to boost this… aspect… in the future', he thought.

"Boa, when did you grow up so much?" Kain muttered. "Looks like I'll need to find a solution for you."

He immediately thought of the permanent shrinking spell from alchemy, but since the green snake obviously couldn't wear magic items, he'd have to come up with another plan.

"Poison Fang or Snake Scale? Boa, which one do you think suits you better?"

Both alchemical forms seemed appropriate for the green snake, and finding a replacement would be important.

Otherwise, once it grew to tens of meters long, unless it lived in the sea like a basilisk, keeping it hidden would be impossible—unless it never left the protective spell range around the Kain estate.

"Master, I'll leave it to you to decide. It's really inconvenient being this big. In a few months, I might not even be able to enter the house," the green snake replied, nodding its massive head.

Though it had grown large enough to speak, the snake didn't talk much. When Kain and Betty weren't around, it would slither into the house to turn on the TV and keep up with the news from this world.

As a snake born in Ryūchi Cave, boa was particularly gifted. Snakes that absorbed natural energy too quickly often developed the ability to speak human language, and boa only needed to use natural energy to strengthen its body.

As for Ryūchi Cave's Sage Techniques—

Without Kain's help to transform its body, it would take at least a hundred years for boa to fully master them.

The alchemy items Kain was preparing for the green snake would be ready soon. In the meantime, he began transferring future technologies he'd brought back to the Red Queen's network for storage.

Some of the tech could be adapted and used immediately, while obsolete designs could still be manufactured and sold to the military or Hydra.

The new energy weapons developed by Vanko and his son remained among the best in the world.

While they hadn't touched on strategic weaponry, when it came to personal equipment, no arms company could rival the inventions of the Vankos.

The same was true for Stark Industries, whose heavy arms led the market, while orders for individual weapons were once dominated by Hammer Industries and the original Osborn Group.

Kain used Fiendfyre training materials, Shadow Clone-solidified ancient runes, and the fangs he'd broken from the basilisk's mouth as magical components.

Before the data upload was complete, he crafted several snake-shaped alchemy items for boa, along with a set of enchanted fangs.

Kain placed a few snake-scale and fang-shaped alchemy items onto boa's body, then cast a hardening spell.

Under the effect of the alchemical enchantments, the green snake's body slowly shrank until it was no longer than Kain's arm.

"Amazing, Master! But I don't feel like my strength has weakened at all," boa remarked.

To prove it, the green snake flicked its tail toward the floor. Instantly, gravel and shattered tiles flew everywhere as a pothole over a meter wide formed in the ground.

Kain couldn't imagine what would've happened if boa had used its full strength.

"In the future, you can try to get Betty to warm up to you. That way, you can go out and explore a bit," Kain suggested.

With a wave of his hand, Kain restored the broken ground to its original state.

Betty knew about the green snake's existence, but she couldn't handle its massive size. People who lack strength naturally fear giant creatures—even if Betty knew the green snake wouldn't harm her.

However, with boa now shrunken, Kain figured Betty might be more comfortable around it.

"I understand, Master," boa replied.

Though it agreed, the green snake slithered into the living room and, moments later, the sound of a TV program echoed through the house. It seemed to be watching an animal documentary.

Kain hadn't expected boa to enjoy something like that.

Meanwhile, all the data was transmitted securely to the Red Queen's database under the highest level of encryption.

Kain was aware of entities in this world capable of threatening the Red Queen—like J.A.R.V.I.S., Dr. Zola, and some powerful hackers—so he ensured the database's security was airtight.

The independent network and restricted access, limited to specific locations, eliminated 99% of intrusion possibilities.

Unless someone could break through multiple layers of magical defenses to reach Kain's estate, take down both boa and the basilisk, and then spend hours cracking the system, accessing the Red Queen's full technological reserves would be impossible.
