Chapter 18: THOR VS HUMAN TORCH 2 [Bonus]
"Mr. Stark is unreliable, isn't he? He's just like those show-offs on the internet—goes down fast. How am I supposed to face him alone now?"
The Human Torch was frustrated, complaining about Iron Man betraying his teammates.
Facing Thor, the Asgardian warrior, the Torch felt a strong urge to flee. But that jerk was still livestreaming the battle, and people from four different universes were watching. If he ran now, he'd be drowning in shame.
After dealing with Tony Stark, Thor turned his attention to the livestream, focusing on the comments flooding the chat room.
All young people love being the center of attention—even someone who's five thousand years old is no different.
Thor was pleased by the praise pouring in from the people of Asgard. But to maintain his dignity as Odin's son, he kept a façade of indifference.
[Volstagg]: His Highness Thor is incredibly strong. He fought two men alone and still wasn't defeated. These humans can't compare.
[Fandral]: Long live His Highness! Beat those two bastards to death—they dared provoke you over and over!
[Magneto]: He's got incredible power, but unfortunately… not much brain to go with it.
[Mr. Fantastic]: Lord Thor, the Human Torch is still just a kid… Please show mercy.
[Susan]: Lord Thor, I apologize on behalf of my brother… Please don't hurt him.
[Loki]: Well done, brother! Cut off their heads and hang them on the palace gates to show your greatness!
[Isaac]: @Loki, you idiot—you're the one who tricked Thor into coming to Earth, aren't you?
[Loki]: Foolish human, stop talking nonsense or I'll sue you for defamation! My brother is already on Earth—you think I can't just have him beat you up?
[Isaac]: "…"
Isaac stared at Loki's childish response in silence, as if reading the words of a grade-schooler calling in his big brother for help.
He hadn't expected Tony Stark to be so weak—defeated by Thor so easily and with barely a fight.
But thinking again, this version of Iron Man's armor wasn't nearly as advanced as what it would be in a few years. So it made sense that Thor could overpower him at this point in time.
"After this incident, that unlucky guy had better start working on a Thor-proof suit," Isaac thought to himself with a sarcastic smile, watching Iron Man's pitiful state.
As everyone knows, Iron Man's armor always ends up getting dismantled by whoever he fights.
While Thor basked in the praise of the Asgardians, he looked at the Human Torch with pride, then waved dismissively and said arrogantly:
"Since you're still just a child, I'll spare you this time—for your sister's sake and out of respect for your leader. You may go! But don't be so insolent next time. A god's majesty is not something to be mocked."
But those words didn't go unchallenged. They sparked fury in the Human Torch, who was already starting to feel the effects of exhaustion.
"Does this so-called god even bleed?"
He glared at the arrogant Thor, and at that moment, he entered overheat mode.
His powers, much like the sun god Helios from ancient Greek mythology, turned him into a miniature sun, especially when he entered overload state.
In this state, the surface temperature of his body soared to that of a star, and his flames matched the sun's surface heat, enough to melt nearly any known metal on Earth.
Of course, this state came at a price. It didn't last long, and once it ended, the Human Torch would be left completely drained.
But Torch, blinded by rage, wasn't thinking about consequences.
He roared and transformed into a crimson meteor, charging at breakneck speed toward Thor, whose arrogant expression remained unchanged.
"Who do you think you're throwing that smug look at?"
Even from a distance, Thor could feel the terrifying heat radiating from his opponent. Knowing he couldn't let him get any closer, Thor hurled his hammer to block the charge.
The Torch spotted the hammer coming and blasted it with a devastating wave of flame from his right hand, knocking it to the ground. In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Thor.
Clenching his right fist, the Torch smashed it into Thor's face, sending him flying.
Before Thor could even land, the Torch caught up to him. His hand now glowing like molten lava, he formed another fist and punched Thor hard in the gut.
"Boom!"
Thor crashed into the ground like a meteor, carving a massive crater. The Human Torch soared again.
He landed on top of Thor's body and began pounding his face with a barrage of fiery punches, raining down like a storm.
Thor's face had turned pitch black from the burns. With the last of his strength, he summoned his hammer from nearby.
The moment he grabbed it, he activated his lightning powers. A volley of thunderbolts came crashing down from the sky, striking both fighters.
The Torch, still straddling Thor's chest, was blasted away by the thunder and slammed into the ground. Whether he was alive or dead remained unclear.
Thor, too, was in terrible shape. The intense flames had seared his skin, and his face had become grotesque and horrifying from the burns.
