Chapter 46: Chapter 46: I Think It's Gryffindor!

After dealing with Professor Dumbledore, Noah and the others were relieved.

There was no way around it—the Slytherins were just too arrogant.

And in Slytherin, the pure-blood ideology was truly exaggerated. Even students who didn't believe in it didn't dare to speak up, fearing they'd suddenly become Slytherin's public enemy and suffer seven years of absolute misery.

Hogwarts didn't have a precedent for inter-house transfers, and no one wanted to take such a risk. Because of this, Kenn, the unfortunate one, had a particularly tough time.

But thankfully, after this ordeal with Harry, they had managed to get through the danger.

Even though they had been reluctant to face Voldemort at first, after witnessing Noah destroy Voldemort's soul fragment with the ease of banishing a common ghost, they suddenly became much more confident!

Not everyone dared to strike at Voldemort!

But Noah did—and he made it look effortless, which made them wonder: Was Voldemort really that fragile?

"Don't joke around, guys. Your thoughts are dangerous," Noah said, exasperated, upon learning what they were thinking.

"But didn't you destroy him? And Professor Dumbledore is too much! You did something so significant, yet he's not even planning to tell anyone!" Evan looked at Noah in disbelief.

To be honest, Noah had obliterated Voldemort's soul fragment. That should be big news—it should be made public, so everyone knew who the real hero was.

But surprisingly, Professor Dumbledore had decided not to spread the story, and Noah himself seemed relieved by that choice. In fact, he preferred that Dumbledore keep it quiet. As a result, almost no one knew about the great thing Noah had done.

"Oh, come on. It was just a piece of his soul!" Noah rubbed his face, exasperated. "You guys have heard of Horcruxes, right?"

"Horcrux? You mean that legendary object that allows a person to split their soul and store a piece of it?" Ernie asked, puzzled.

"You mean… the Voldemort we encountered wasn't even his complete self?" Lance seemed to realize something.

"Of course. What else did you think? If that had been his complete soul, he would've taken control of Quirrell, stolen the Stone, and prepared for his resurrection!" Noah nodded.

"Even though he's dead, don't forget—he still has plenty of Death Eaters under his command. I don't want to spend my life on the run just because I made myself a target. That would be way too much trouble."

"So that's how it is… But what if we come across more of Voldemort's soul fragments in the future? Can we handle them the same way?" Hermione, sitting beside him, couldn't contain her curiosity.

"In theory, yes," Noah said, stretching. "When soul fragments awaken, they can be classified as ghosts under Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. And you all know how to deal with ghosts, right?"

"Just treat it like a ghost? That's the Dark Lord we're talking about!" Lance asked incredulously. Noah made it sound too simple.

"What else? Didn't you see how last time I used Lumos Solem, and the sunlight burned him into ash? What a pity—spectral ash is a rare material. But Dumbledore took it away. Otherwise, I would've liked to study it and see if I could make something useful out of it."

"..."

Evan and the others were left speechless. Is this guy serious?

That was Lord Voldemort he was talking about!

However, thinking about it again, Noah had been raised in the Muggle world. He had no ingrained fear of Voldemort like they did, which probably explained why he was so casual about it.

When they realized this, they suddenly envied Noah's background. Even Hermione received envious glances.

Growing up in a magical household meant being bombarded with terrifying stories about Voldemort from a young age. Their fear was completely psychological.

"Alright, guys, enough about this nonsense. The final exams are coming up. How's your studying going?"

Noah absentmindedly picked up a book, flipping through it as he asked the question.

Indeed, exams were approaching fast. Though Noah wasn't worried about them, it was still worth asking.

"Oh, come on. Do you really think first-year exams are going to be a problem for us?" Kenn rolled his eyes.

Exams? Please. This was first-year material.

Now, if it were the O.W.L.s, and they were trying to qualify for the advanced classes, then there might be some difficulty. After all, that was an important benchmark to determine who was truly skilled.

Kenn and the others were knowledgeable, but they weren't arrogant enough to think they could ace their O.W.L.s just yet.

But if it were Noah… Kenn and the others did think he could probably pull it off.

"Alright, alright, just a friendly reminder. There aren't any retakes, after all. If you fail, you'll have to repeat the year."

"Damn it. Sorry, Hermione, Ernie. I wasn't talking about you two—I meant some people in your house who don't take studying seriously. Noah, you should be telling them this!"

"If I were in Gryffindor, I might consider it. But sorry, I'm in Ravenclaw. I wouldn't be stupid enough to waste my time," Noah said, shrugging.

It was clear from his response that he didn't really care. Kenn and the others were obviously annoyed by his question.

But Noah wasn't concerned. Passing the exams was inevitable. The real question was who would top the rankings.

Noah had never expected that one day he'd become an academic overachiever.

He even considered teasing Harry—like putting on a disappointed face after the exam, then revealing he had nearly full marks.

That way, Harry could experience the difference between an overachiever's "bad performance" and an underachiever's "good performance."

But after a moment, Noah shook his head. That's too cruel, isn't it?

Although… it would be funny.

The only downside was that it might turn him into the public enemy of Gryffindor.

"By the way, who won the Quidditch Cup this year?" Lance, who had been quietly reading, suddenly interrupted Noah's thoughts.

"How should I know? I think it was Gryffindor. Why are you asking?" Noah shot an annoyed look at the guy who had just ruined his train of thought.

"No reason. I was just calculating the points for the Quidditch Cup. That way, I can figure out which house will win the House Cup this year," Lance explained honestly.

"Hah! Do you even need to calculate? It's obviously Ravenclaw!" Evan said confidently.

"Come on, Hermione and I are right here. Do you really think it's okay to decide that so easily?" Ernie shook his head with a helpless smile.

Though he had to admit, Ravenclaw did have a strong advantage with these guys.

"Alright, alright, my apologies to both of you," Evan chuckled. Then he turned to Noah. "Noah, what do you think?"

"What do I think?" Noah smirked mysteriously.

"I think… it's Gryffindor!"
