Marvel: Reincarnated As Tsunade With A System

Chapter 19: X-Men

The man who entered was sitting in a wheelchair, pushed by a woman with red hair, and accompanying them was a man who looked like someone not to be messed with due to his intimidating aura, well-toned body, and beast-like temperament.

Finally, there was a black woman with white hair, a warm smile, and a big-sister-like demeanor.

Among them, the woman with red hair was the one who attracted Emma's attention the most. After all, some people might break a door or a table if they lost control of their emotions, but this one could burn the earth, though not technically her.

From the moment she heard the voice, Mystique recognized who it was, and when she turned around, sure enough, who could it be but her dear Professor X?

She said, a little annoyed: "Charles, I didn't expect you to come here. Don't you worry about the government raiding your school?"

Charles Xavier, in his wheelchair, maintained his friendly smile as if he didn't care about what Mystique said.

He replied in the tone of a big brother lecturing his younger sister: "Raven, you know me better than that. My school is well-protected, and there are other matters that require my attention."

Mystique grew even more annoyed. Her relationship with Professor X was quite complicated. On one hand, they were opponents, but on the other, he was that big brother who would protect her against everything.

She replied this time in a more sarcastic tone: "Other matters, huh? Like interfering in places you shouldn't be?"

If it weren't for Charles and his X-Men interfering with them every now and then, they would certainly feel more confident in dealing with mutants.

In fact, what Charles didn't tell her was that he was here at the government's request.

They had asked him to monitor the people around Emma because they knew the Brotherhood would contact her sooner or later. Unfortunately, they didn't want to engage in a conflict with the Brotherhood.

At least, not before Emma realized her potential and was able to defeat Magneto. Right now, if they arrested or killed Mystique, God knows if Magneto would bring his band to level the White House tomorrow.

It wasn't worth it because they didn't have a clear way to arrest the latter. They wouldn't make a move unless they were sure, so they could only invite Professor X as an intermediary.

Knowing the government's intentions, of course, Charles wouldn't refuse. He also didn't want a conflict between the government and mutants, as it would only lead to unnecessary casualties.

He replied to Mystique: "You know me. I wouldn't have interfered if you weren't doing something wrong. You want to destroy humanity, just like some extremist humans want to exterminate us. In the end, it will only create a loop of conflicts and unnecessary wars, as has happened so many times in history. My only objective is to stop that."

In fact, he was not only saying this to Mystique, but also to Emma. Currently, only two mutants had been judged as Omega level. The first was pushing him in the wheelchair. He knew better than anyone how powerful she was.

Although he was tempted to take a peek into Emma's memory to know what kind of person she was, Jean was near him. She would definitely know the moment he tried, and Emma herself was an Omega-level mutant. If she found out, there would no longer be a chance for a good relationship with him, so it was better not to try.

Speaking of Jean, at this moment, she was surprised to find that she couldn't hear Emma's surface thoughts, which she would normally hear from others, even if she didn't try.

In fact, Emma was also wondering if Jean could hear her thoughts. She knew that Jean would likely do so even without trying, and in this case, it would be troublesome.

The only reason Emma had hope she could resist was due to Tsunade's powerful spirit. In the Naruto world, there were also mind-reading techniques used to extract information, but it was difficult to use them against powerful people because of their strong spirits.

And Jean wasn't even trying to hear her thoughts in the first place. Emma looked at Jean again and saw that the latter was also looking at her curiously. Though she didn't know if Jean was acting, it seemed as if Jean really couldn't hear what she was thinking.

After calming herself, Emma said: "Please stop. If you want to have a philosophical debate, I don't really have a problem with it. I'd even be happy to watch, but right now, we're in a restaurant, a place to eat, and I'm really hungry. So can you at least let me eat in peace?"

Ororo, aka Storm, who didn't have the crazy hairstyle and temperament like the one usually in the comics, replied: "Well, Ms. Emma, I'm sorry on behalf of our team for interrupting your lunch."

"It's something even I hate, but as you can see, we're just worried about what she might do. You know, they have some crazy ideas. Who knows what she might try to do to you?"

Emma nodded. At least it wasn't the X-Men's so-called leader, Cyclops, who was here. He was one of the few people she hated in the Marvel world because of his unreasonableness.

As for Ororo, there were many versions of her, like the Omega one. She didn't know which version this was, but at least she felt more friendly and trustworthy than the Professor.

The X-Men, Professor X, and Mystique finally left the restaurant, and through her perception, Emma could hear them arguing.

To be honest, Emma didn't like the X-Men. She found them all so indecisive. If it weren't for her interest in Professor X's academy, she wouldn't even want to talk to them. She'd rather discuss philosophy with Magneto.
