Marvel Kung Fu Panda

Chapter 27: Chapter 26: Martial Arts Panda

Big White was startled by the sudden appearance of the man in red tights, causing the cookie he was about to eat to fall to the ground.

Listening to the familiar sound, he curled his lips, then picked up the cookie, opened the window, and offered it to the visitor.

"Want a bite?"

Peter, now in a sleek, designed spider suit, looked at Big White's casual gesture and was momentarily speechless. He adjusted his hood, marveling at his new attire.

"Even with a mask, I can see you picked that cookie off the ground," Peter remarked.

"That's because you startled me," Big White shrugged, dusted off the cookie, and popped it into his mouth.

"Hey! That was on the ground!" Peter exclaimed, surprised.

"No big deal. A little dirt won't hurt," Big White replied nonchalantly. He then grabbed a pen from the desk's holder and began writing on the cookie box.

"What are you doing?" Peter leaned in curiously.

"Gwen's not back yet, so I'm leaving her a note to not worry," Big White explained, scribbling a message about stepping out for a while and leaving the window open for his return.

"Your handwriting is atrocious," Peter teased, eyeing the crooked English.

"You talk too much," Big White retorted, placing the cookie box prominently, then climbed out the window.

"Alright, you're a giant panda, so I won't argue," Peter shrugged, crouching down with a large backpack.

"This is for you. I'm really going above and beyond, buying my own gear. Anyone seeing my dedication would be moved to tears."

"Then I suppose I need a whip too. And those tears would be out of envy," Big White mused, climbing into the backpack and zipping it just enough to peek his head out.

"Yeah, you're a giant panda. I never imagined teaming up with a kung fu panda," Peter said, feeling the weight behind him as he stood. "You're heavy! What have you been eating? My web might not hold!"

"The New York Times: 'Spider-Man Steals Panda, Falls to Death!' And the man behind the mask is... I can't even imagine," Peter joked.

"Maybe if you keep your mouth shut, you'd save a lot of energy," Big White suggested, feeling a bit dizzy from Peter's chatter.

"Alright, let's go. I'll take you to my place first, then we'll suit up and hunt some criminals," Peter decided, leaping from the fire escape.

Halfway down, he shot a web from his wrist, snagging a balcony.

"Woo-hoo! How's the ride, Big White?" Peter asked, thrilled to have a talking panda along.

"Just don't flip us upside down, or your back might get scratched."

"It's stuffy in here. What if your backpack isn't strong enough?"

"Don't worry, even if you fall out, I'll catch you."

"Then the criminals might get a longer break."

"Okay, you've got me there. But your words don't match your cute appearance."

"Charlie..."

"So adorable!"

"Get lost!"

"Well, not cute at all. You seem more like a rugged man in a fairy tale outfit."

"Blabbermouth in tights!"

"What? Blabbermouth?"

Before he knew it, Big White found himself chatting away with Peter during their journey. When they finally reached Peter's place, Big White emerged from the backpack, scratching his head at how much he'd talked.

"Am I turning into a chatterbox?" he wondered.

"Come here, I've been working on this all night for the past few nights. Honestly, once it's finished, I want to trade mine for yours," Peter said, removing his hood and leading Big White to a box in the corner, excitement in his eyes.

Big White approached eagerly. When he saw the clothes inside, his eyes lit up.

"Let's try it on! It's going to be awesome! Martial Arts Panda!" Peter exclaimed, performing a few Wing Chun moves, seemingly more excited about the outfit than Big White himself.

Big White pulled out the gray pants first, giving them a tug. Despite stretching them out, they remained intact.

He slipped on the pants, which were comfortably loose.

Next, he donned the gray coat embroidered with golden dragons. The outfit transformed him from cuddly to capable.

Finally, he placed the bamboo hat on his head, completing the look of an Eastern warrior.

With the wrist guards fastened, the ensemble was complete.

"Cool! I never thought this would suit you so well. If only you were a bit taller," Peter marveled at the knightly panda before him.

"Thank you," Big White replied, testing his movements. Though not used to wearing clothes as a panda, the outfit's elasticity allowed for freedom of movement. Most importantly, it disguised his panda identity.

Thus, a panda knight, clad in a bamboo hat and coat, stood proudly in the room.
