Sonya, feeling better, quickly whispered an explanation to John to stop things from getting worse. John then understood what had happened.

After sitting down, Sonya had tried, as usual, to use her powers to sense if the three with Raymond meant them harm.

But she didn't expect to meet Psylocke, another mutant with mind powers, who was much stronger than her.

Psylocke not only noticed Sonya's spying but also gave her a small lesson.

Sonya suddenly held her head in pain because Psylocke's counterattack caused a backlash.

After hearing Sonya's explanation, John realized Sonya was probably in the wrong this time. Using mind powers on others without permission is rude.

Though no law stops mutants from using mind powers, there are unspoken rules in their world.

For example, using mind powers on someone without asking is like declaring war—no excuse.

Psylocke didn't get angry but only gave Sonya a warning, which was already very kind.

In this case, John's earlier reaction seemed a bit silly.

"Sonya didn't mean to offend anyone. I apologize for her!" John said awkwardly, realizing his mistake.

"Forget it, it's in the past," Psylocke said, waving her hand and looking at him coolly. "But if this wasn't Dr. Raymond's house, with how you talked to me just now, you'd be dead."

"And you, little girl…" Psylocke looked at Lorna and smiled. "Next time if you want to attack, make sure you finish the job. Don't just threaten like that, because it only risks you getting hurt with no good result."

Before she finished, the nails near Psylocke suddenly got wrapped in a purple light and were pulled quickly toward Lorna's face!

Lorna was shocked to find she couldn't control the nails or stop the purple light pulling them. She was powerless to stop the nails from coming at her.

She knew what this meant...

If this stranger really wanted to harm her just now, she could have been killed in an instant, and Lorna wouldn't have stopped it at all.

"Alright, stop scaring her," Raymond said with a light laugh, shaking his head.

Psylocke smiled and let the purple light fade, dropping the nails to the ground.

But Lorna was still shaken by the feeling of powerlessness and couldn't calm down for a long time.

John, watching this, was just as shocked as Lorna.

Though Psylocke didn't really attack them, John saw from their brief fight how terrifying she was.

She completely controlled Lorna in a power clash, leaving Lorna with no way to fight back. And her mind powers were even stronger than Sonya's—that's a frightening strength.

John had seen many mutants before, but none seemed to have power like Psylocke's.

If Psylocke wanted to harm them, she could easily defeat them all alone. And that's not even counting Carl, who even John and Lorna together couldn't handle, or Juggernaut, who looked strong just by size and had unknown powers.

John didn't know Juggernaut well, but since Juggernaut hung out with Carl and Psylocke, he didn't think Juggernaut was weak or useless.

Only now did John really believe these people didn't mean to hurt them.

"Since the introductions are done, let's all sit down properly," Raymond said, giving them an easy way to calm down.

After seeing Psylocke's power, John and the others didn't dare complain. Even Lorna, who had just recovered, sat down quietly and didn't cause trouble again.

Seeing the group finally settle down, Raymond smiled and didn't pay much attention. He just acted as a good host and helped them introduce themselves.

With Raymond keeping things calm, and Carl smoothing over the mood, everyone quickly started to get along.

Especially Clarice and Lorna, who soon became close with Psylocke.

But it wasn't because Psylocke was easy to get along with. People like Carl, who knew her well, understood that the Black Queen usually looked down on others.

Even inside the Hellfire Club, few could make her lower her guard.

This was because she held a very high position in the club, had great strength, and came from a background that gave her the right to be proud.

She only lowered her proud attitude around Clarice and Lorna because, in some way, they were like her.

Lorna's power and her cool, distant vibe reminded Psylocke of a certain mutant crime boss.

Psylocke was much older than she looked and had dealt with Magneto many times.

Besides, Juggernaut was close to both sides.

If Lorna really was Magneto's daughter, Psylocke wouldn't make things hard for her, even without considering Raymond's respect.

Clarice was even less of a question.

Raymond was on their side, and he was a powerful mutant. With a brother like that, who would dare trouble her?

For Clarice, having Raymond as her brother was her biggest support.

In short, both Clarice and Lorna belonged to the group "backed by powerful people."

Psylocke saw a bit of herself in them, so she acted relaxed.

But with John and Sonya, the couple, she wasn't so friendly and never really looked at them properly.

Carl was similar, though less openly rude, still polite on the surface.

John wasn't foolish; he soon saw what was going on and his expression became awkward.

Sonya noticed the change in her boyfriend, held his hand, and looked at him to ask if he was okay, but John didn't want to answer, feeling bad.

Everyone noticed John's strange reaction except the two younger girls, Clarice and Lorna.

Raymond noticed too but didn't care much—honestly, John's thoughts weren't his concern.

At that moment, Juggernaut suddenly stood up and nodded toward Raymond, signaling, "Walk with me?"

"Okay."

Raymond guessed Juggernaut wanted to talk privately, so he didn't refuse.
