Chapter 247: Chapter 247: The Asgard Situation!

At this moment, the witch wore a deeply puzzled expression.

Because she could very clearly feel that when the other party activated that energy, the Chaos Force within her body also surged violently in response. It was as if her very essence was being stirred, driven by the other's power through some unknown resonance.

Though confused, she didn't utter a word. At such a critical juncture, even the slightest disruption to the recovery process could have catastrophic consequences. If her reaction interfered, all of her previous efforts could be rendered meaningless.

That thought alone was enough to keep her silent.

"It seems like if I want to understand what's happening here, I'll just have to wait," she mused. "Time will be the key."

With that, she gave up any attempts at interpreting the phenomenon herself. Stabilizing the situation took precedence. No one wanted to see things spiral out of control, especially when they were this close to understanding the truth.

Since it had already happened before their eyes, the only option now was to wait until Thor and Valkyrie regained consciousness. Only then could they obtain the answers they needed.

Because of this, she reined in her curiosity and made no attempt to speak her thoughts aloud.

If she let her mind wander, it would just force Finn and the others to waste time calming her down. That wouldn't help anyone.

And frankly, she didn't want to witness such a day come to pass.

SWISH!

Suddenly, the previously dim chamber was bathed in a radiant surge of energy, released by the Dark Witch. It shimmered with a sacred light, pushing away all the residual darkness and malice that clung to the room like rot.

The battered bodies of Valkyrie and Thor, bloodied and drained of strength, were now illuminated by the holy brilliance. And just like that, their wounds, no matter how severe, began to fade away as the energy poured over them. The light did not simply heal—it cleansed, purified, and restored.

More remarkably, with the energy influx from the surrounding cosmos, their bodies began to radiate a deep crimson glow. The damage was reversing in real-time. Muscles reknit, bones realigned, and blood evaporated from torn garments. And yet, there were no negative side effects—no strain, no instability.

It was almost unbelievable. The surreal vision in front of them defied even the wildest understanding of magical healing. This went far beyond Asgardian medicine or even the regenerative abilities granted by the All-Father's magic.

"Finn… I just felt it clearly. The energy she's using—there's some kind of link to mine. What is happening?"

Unable to restrain her curiosity any longer, the witch turned to Finn and asked directly.

After all, Finn would be the one person who might understand the resonance occurring between her and the other wielder of Chaos Force. She focused all her attention on him, searching for answers.

It wasn't the first time, either. Perhaps it was because she and the other woman had both studied the Darkhold together. Or perhaps their exposure to corrupted arcane forces had slowly aligned their magical signatures. Either way, this wasn't a coincidence.

"If I had to guess," Finn replied after a moment of thought, "it's probably due to both of you studying the Darkhold. The kind of corruption and tethering it causes—it doesn't just go away. It links minds and souls. There's likely a metaphysical bond now between the two of you."

Despite speaking, his eyes never left the two bodies recovering in the center of the room.

Their injuries had been severe—beyond conventional healing—and so he couldn't relax even for a moment.

The witch nodded in understanding. She wasn't offended by Finn's divided attention. His concern was valid. Thor and Valkyrie might not be as powerful as beings like the Celestials or Kree warlords, but they were elite warriors—veterans of the Nine Realms. If even they had been brought this low, something extraordinary had occurred.

And more importantly, despite their prowess, the two had nearly died this time.

So what exactly had they encountered?

Before either Finn or the witch could speculate further—

The radiant light blanketing the room suddenly disappeared. Gone in a flash, as if it had never been there.

Sensing the shift, both Finn and the witch turned to look at Thor and Valkyrie.

Just then, the Dark Witch took a slow step forward.

"I've pushed my power to the edge," she said, her voice low and serious. "If there are no further complications, they should survive. But I need to rest now."

With that, she moved toward a nearby sofa and collapsed into it, clearly exhausted.

Finn gave her a nod of acknowledgment. "You've done enough. From here, it's up to their willpower. No one can intervene now."

Having said that, he remained by their side, quietly waiting. There was no rushing this process. Even magic had its limits.

Time passed.

No one knew how long it took—minutes, maybe hours—but eventually, subtle movements began to stir within Thor and Valkyrie's forms.

Thanks to the Dark Witch's intervention, the two finally began to awaken.

"Are you okay?" the witch asked immediately, rushing forward to support Valkyrie, who looked weak and disoriented.

"It's… it's good to see you," Valkyrie whispered, tears brimming in her eyes as she looked at Finn and the others. The relief in her voice was unmistakable. To be alive—barely clinging to life and then saved by allies—was not something she took lightly.

"What do you mean by that?" Finn frowned slightly, confusion building. "And what happened in Asgard? Even you were injured this badly?"

His gaze shifted toward Thor, who was now attempting to sit up. Though clearly still in pain, he was well enough to speak.

Thor let out a heavy breath and nodded.

"It's like this…"

And with that, he began to recount the events that had unfolded in Asgard.

As it turned out, things in New Asgard had been progressing peacefully. The people had found stability, and daily life revolved around routine patrols and local governance. There had been no signs of external threats or celestial disturbances.

But then came the tear.

A violent rupture appeared in the void above Asgard. It wasn't a portal, nor a wormhole—it was a full-scale dimensional fracture. And from it came chaos.

Entire sections of the city were torn away, the population helpless against the pull of the collapsing reality. Thousands were sucked into the void, vanishing without a trace.

There was no pattern, no logic—just devastation.

Then came the invaders.

Entities from beyond the known realms, warped by corruption and primal power. They weren't Skrulls, weren't Chitauri, and certainly weren't something known to even Heimdall's memory. These things existed outside the rules of the known multiverse.

Thor and Valkyrie had fought valiantly, pushing their divine forms to the limit. They'd unleashed every bit of remaining strength, even invoking ancient rites of Odinforce and sacred pacts with the Norns to open a stable escape route.

Only by shattering a portion of space around them and creating an artificial void corridor did they escape with their lives.

But it had come at a cost.

Most of the Asgardian people were still gone—either dead or imprisoned in whatever dimension had reached out and claimed them.

His words carried the weight of loss, of desperation. Even with all their power, they had failed their people.

And they had nearly died doing so.
