Chapter 494: Chapter 494
"Ugh! What the hell was that!?"
Rhodey staggered to his feet, a pained expression on his face as he scanned his surroundings.
What just hit him?
Why were the others being hit too?
Was this some kind of ghost?
"It's the Visual Beasts!!"
High above, Thor shouted down from the sky.
"They're attacking you all!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a sharp strike pierced Thor's body—only, thanks to his current elemental state, the attack didn't harm him. In fact, it backfired.
CRACKLE!
Electricity surged, zapping the Visual Beast that had tried to ambush Thor, exposing its form as it spasmed with static.
Thor turned sharply, swinging Mjolnir to bat the creature away, then transformed into pure lightning—zipping across the sky with blinding speed as he chased down the invisible attackers preying on Asgard's warriors.
CRACKLE!
He struck with lightning wrath—cleaving the Visual Beasts with Stormbreaker or smashing them to bits with Mjolnir.
Meanwhile, Steve Rogers also spotted the invisible threats. Instantly, he activated Clock Up.
To ordinary eyes, the Visual Beasts moved at impossible speeds. But to Steve, in Clock Up, they were merely fast—nothing he couldn't handle.
With practiced ease, he surged toward the beasts, slicing through them one after another with his laser blade!
Realizing he could see them, the Visual Beasts roared and launched themselves at him in a frenzy.
But Steve didn't flinch.
He took a deep breath, ignoring the pain of his injuries, and met them head-on with a flurry of powerful sword strikes.
At that moment, Thanos stood on a hovering ship, his gaze scanning the chaos.
Thanks to the resonance of the Infinity Stones, he locked onto the Space Stone's location.
He prepared to fly toward it.
"Ah ah ah—sorry, can't let you go there."
The Ancient One suddenly appeared, blocking his path.
"You dare stop me, sorcerer? You have only one Stone. I have three."
Thanos glared.
"Then how about two?" came another voice.
Odin had arrived, now clad in his battle robes, his expression cold and resolute.
"Neither of you will stop me!"
Thanos roared, activating the Power Stone.
With a flick of his arm, he hurled a wave of crackling purple energy.
Odin swung Gungnir, unleashing a blade of energy that clashed with Thanos' attack.
It was only one exchange—
But Odin immediately realized the terrifying might of the Power Stone. He grew wary.
Thanos, likewise, was surprised by Odin's strength. His eyes narrowed at the divine armor.
"Let's not fight here," the Ancient One said, raising her hands to open a portal to the Mirror Dimension.
"Think again!"
Thanos wasn't foolish enough to follow a sorcerer into their own battleground.
He immediately unleashed the Mind Stone's power—trying to dominate the Ancient One's thoughts.
But Odin stepped in front of her, thrusting Gungnir forward—
The divine spear neutralized the mental assault and fired a brilliant beam of energy back at Thanos.
Thanos responded by creating a barrier with the Power Stone to block the beam.
Then he compressed the barrier into a glowing sphere and hurled it at Odin!
Odin spun and caught the attack with the flat of his sword.
But Thanos clenched his fist—
BOOM! The orb exploded.
The blast was strong enough to make Odin stumble back.
The Ancient One, however, stood calmly as the shockwave washed over her, completely unfazed.
In that split-second, Thanos rushed her, gripping her by the throat.
"Die."
He squeezed.
BOOM!
But instead of a neck snapping—
The Ancient One exploded into a swarm of glowing butterflies!
"What?!"
Thanos' expression shifted.
The butterflies spiraled around him in circles, tightening, until they transformed into golden chains, binding Thanos in place.
"Be a good boy and sit tight."
The real Ancient One now appeared in midair above.
That earlier version? Merely a projection.
In the time she bought, she had already pulled Thanos, Odin, and herself into the Mirror Dimension.
"No!!"
Thanos roared, refusing to be confined.
He swung his arm, unleashing a torrent of purple energy to blast the sorcerer.
But something was off—
Though the beam should've struck her directly, it veered to the side, missing entirely.
No matter how he adjusted his aim—it refused to hit her.
"Welcome to the Mirror Dimension," she said coldly.
With a clap, she summoned countless golden lightning bolts to fall upon him!
Thanos quickly raised a Power Stone barrier to block them all.
ZAP ZAP ZAP!
Then—a massive golden beam crashed down from the heavens, shattering the barrier.
The lightning engulfed Thanos, who screamed in agony, his body seared and burning.
With a grunt of defiance, he clenched his right fist, repelling the energy.
Then—
SLASH!!
Odin came down from the sky, swinging his divine sword toward Thanos' right arm—intending to sever it, to stop him from wielding the Stones!
Thanos ducked, dodging the blow, then brought out his twin-bladed sword, channeling the Power Stone's might into both edges.
He slashed back.
Odin raised his blade to block.
Even with the Stone's power, Thanos couldn't break the divine sword—
But the impact forced Odin back a few steps.
Thanos began spinning his weapon like a bladed windmill, radiating with purple light—
A whirling vortex of destruction coming from every direction.
Odin responded immediately, twirling Gungnir to block blow after blow.
The two titans clashed for over a dozen rounds.
Then—Thanos suddenly threw a punch.
This time, he unleashed the Mind Stone directly at Odin's head—hoping to seize control.
Odin couldn't dodge in time.
So he dipped his head—
Letting the beam strike the helmet of his divine armor.
