Chapter 453: Chapter 453
Aeshmida: Yes, it's rare to find someone who understands.
Diana: Losing your body and having your soul live on—just what level have you reached?! Could it be the Eighth Sense? No, wait... why don't you have a body?!
Aeshmida: To forge a rosary capable of sealing the immortality of the Specters, I burned my Cosmo to its limit, which destroyed my body.
Rhadamanthys: What?! You sealed our immortality?!
Aeshmida: That's right. As long as you're killed, your star will be sealed within the rosary. You'll never be resurrected.
Aiakos: Damn you, Saint!
Wang: A relic that can seal immortality… I'd love to study that. I wonder if it works on other immortal beings.
Aeshmida: I'm afraid not.
Minos: Aeshmida, since you're still alive, hurry back to the Sanctuary!
Aeshmida: I can't. In my current state, I can no longer interfere in the affairs of our world. After awakening the Eighth Sense and losing my body, I've ascended to a higher dimension. What happens in our world now is like watching a broadcast. I can appear occasionally, but I can't affect anything.
Mordo: A soul ascending to a higher dimension! It's like the chosen angels of myth!
Aeshmida: That's not quite it.
The Ancient One: Hahaha, your world is fascinating. I'd love to have a chat with you.
Tony Stark: All I can say is, this isn't scientific.
The Ancient One: Stark, don't limit your understanding of the world with your shallow knowledge.
Aeshmida: Exactly. Whether it's science or something else, the key is to grasp the true essence of the world.
Dan Moroboshi: Looks like you've become a new kind of life form. That's quite impressive for a human.
Luffy: Man, you guys talk way too complicated…
Naruto: Yeah, totally different from us.
Regulus: Aeshmida, you sound just like my dad.
Cardia: But you can only watch?!
Dōko: What a pity.
Minos: Heh, that's really a shame. Without your power, it's only a matter of time before we defeat you. Last time we launched a major assault, we wiped out plenty of your Bronze and Silver Saints.
Aiakos: That's right. With the Saints' numbers cut in half, you're no longer our match!
Haskart: Don't underestimate us! Damn Specters!
Diana: My god, what happened in your world? Can you really manage with such a huge gap in numbers?
Sage: Thank you for your concern. We'll handle it.
[Regarding broadcast viewers: There are now many new viewers. To prevent important SCP information from leaking and causing problems, no more new viewers will be added from this point on.]
Suddenly, the screen flashed this announcement.
Daigo: No more new viewers? Hold on, so I'm the only one from my universe here?
Sengoku: Looks like it's a selective filter.
Loki: Whatever. Fewer people, fewer voices to hear.
["Now introducing the next SCP—Antarctic Bug."]
As the voice spoke, the screen displayed a photo of an unusual creature. It looked like an enormous bug with many legs, its face indistinct, its body unusually massive.
[Antarctic Bug. The SCP Foundation has no idea why it appeared. They simply assigned it this codename when they discovered it.]
[When the SCP Foundation found it, they immediately dispatched a research team to investigate. From its discovery to the present, the Antarctic Bug has shown no signs of movement or activity.]
[The research team cautiously approached the Antarctic Bug. On the first day, they stumbled upon a diary containing the following entry:]
["Whoever you are, if you see this creature, leave immediately. Do not approach!" — Joseph]
[Strangely, one member of the research team was also named Joseph. Could this be a coincidence?]
[Moreover, where did this diary come from? The Foundation's satellite monitoring never detected anyone approaching the area. So how did the diary get there?]
[To figure out the truth, the research team decided to continue their approach. That decision marked the beginning of the nightmare.]
[On the first day, the team set out for the Antarctic Bug. Due to the extreme Antarctic conditions, flying was too dangerous, so they used specialized snow vehicles. Even so, it would take three days of driving to reach the Bug.]
[The first two days went smoothly. But on the third day, the Antarctic Bug seemed to have moved farther away, as if it had shifted locations. However, satellite data showed it hadn't moved at all. This baffled the team, but they had no choice but to press on.]
[That night, Joseph—while trying to sleep—felt like someone was whispering in his ear in a language he couldn't understand. He tried to comprehend the words, but they remained unintelligible. Eventually, the voice faded, and he fell asleep.]
[On the fourth day, the team found that the Antarctic Bug had again become more distant. This impossible situation puzzled them, but what was even stranger was that they had lost contact with their backup team.]
[Logically, they should have turned back immediately. But to uncover the mystery of the Bug, they chose to continue.]
[They pushed their snow vehicles to the limit, racing to close the gap. When they finally ran out of fuel, they found themselves seemingly closer to the creature—its massive form easily several hundred meters long.]
[They intended to proceed further, but after their exhausting drive, they were too tired and had to set up camp to rest, assigning guards to watch for any movement from the Bug.]
[That night, Joseph again heard the strange voice, as if something was trying to communicate with him, but he still couldn't understand the language. Eventually, the voice faded, and he fell asleep again.]
[On the fifth day, they discovered that their guard had disappeared without a trace. No one knew when he had vanished. Meanwhile, the Antarctic Bug had somehow grown even more distant.]
[This made no sense. The research team had been near the Bug, and with its massive size, any movement should have been audible. So why hadn't they noticed it? And where had the guard gone?]
[With no other options, they had to press forward, while also trying to figure out what had happened to the missing team member.]
[With the vehicles out of fuel, they were forced to proceed on foot. Unfortunately, halfway through, Joseph suddenly fell gravely ill, forcing the team to set up camp to care for him.]
