Chapter 376: Death
On the planet at this moment, a strange and eerie ancient castle stood. Inside the castle, a ghostly flame fluttered with its black ethereal blaze.
At the core of the ghostly flame, the movements of Zane and his two companions were being broadcast in perfect synchronization.
The sole observer of this scene was a woman whose graceful figure was completely hidden beneath a long black robe.
Suddenly, the woman shifted her body slightly to the right-hand side of her seat.
In the next moment, a large, round head—limbless, transparent, and frail—floated in the air beside her chair.
Upon seeing this, the woman immediately feigned surprise, coquettishly exclaiming:
"Oh my, isn't this our dear Uncle Swallow?"
"What brings you to such a desolate place as my Netherworld Ghost Realm?"
The round head gritted its teeth, summoning the last of its strength to barely rise above the woman's seat. Its large, bulging eyes looked down at her as it said:
"Death, after you were banished from the Prime Universe 616 by the Living Tribunal, you actually turned an entire native dimensional universe into your so-called Ghost Realm?"
"How many lives had to perish for this?"
"Bah, I merely returned them to their original essence..." the woman retorted disdainfully, casting a glance at the floating head.
"Besides, you have the time to lecture me here, yet you don't go avenging your two little disciples by dealing with that Earthling, Zane Sy?"
Hearing this, the round head's expression darkened. Already nearly transparent, it now seemed almost entirely nonexistent.
Pursing its protruding lips in frustration, it replied angrily:
"You know full well that the two Celestials, Destruction and Tiamut, aren't my disciples—they belong to Universe 616!"
"I'm not like you so-called Omnipotents, nor like that youngster Eternity, who can stay true to the essence no matter how much they change..."
"So, 616 is 616, and my 1355 is my 1355!"
"My, such a temper! All because 616 sent you to me?"
The woman waved her hand lazily as she spoke, showing no intention of consoling him:
"Anyway, your place and mine are pretty much the same now. Just barren vacuums with every planet consumed down to the last speck."
"Bah, I'm nothing like you. I only devour planets after they show no signs of life," the round head protested, puffing up momentarily before deflating again.
"This is all that useless disciple of his, Tiamut, stirring up trouble even after his death," the head muttered in frustration.
"That time, after the Omnipotence Assembly, didn't the Living Tribunal send 616 the last recorded images of Tiamut's death?"
"Then I heard that 616 returned to the Prime Universe, fixated on studying that weapon his disciple dreamed up."
"I thought he'd go after that Earthling, Zane Sy, right away. But instead, he came to me and said he wanted to 'borrow Universe 1355.'"
"I was just about to refuse when he took out a silver metallic cube, and then... I... I just..."
At this point, the round head seemed to recall something unpleasant. Stammering, it trailed off, clearly agitated by the memory.
"And then, you were sent here to me, weren't you?"
The woman cast a slightly contemptuous glance at the large, round head to her right. Her tone shifted to one of excitement as she continued:
"You should count yourself lucky. Back then, the weapon in 616's hands was still in its infancy. Otherwise, you wouldn't have made it here at all..."
"Later, Little Tribunal secretly told me that the weapon, named the Ultimate Nullifier, is capable of erasing even the five of us entirely."
"At that time, just the prototype of the weapon, dreamed up by that young Celestial, destabilized the Prime Universe's dimension, fracturing half of it."
"If the Little Tribunal hadn't intervened in time, none of us would have been able to manifest directly in the Prime Universe."
"And now, according to you, not only has 616 completed a physical version of the weapon, but he's also upgraded it beyond the original concept."
"Using an entire native dimensional universe as its outer shell..."
Before the woman finished speaking, several identical round heads appeared next to the original one, each glancing at the others.
The woman's tone grew chilling as she added:
"Looks like it's time for me to start making preparations too..."
The heads all spoke in unison:
"What are you planning to get involved in?"
"That Earthling has inherited my true legacy."
"And I promised that old man I'd safeguard the soul essence of all of you on his behalf."
The woman replied nonchalantly:
"Bah, if it weren't for the old man, we wouldn't have been split into so many pieces..."
The cluster of heads exchanged glances, then suddenly seemed to snap to realization. They stared at the woman in astonishment and said:
"Are you suggesting that even with the Ultimate Nullifier, 616 wouldn't be able to defeat that Earthling?"
"Impossible! Even if that guy truly hails from outside this realm, he's still stuck at the seventh dimension..."
"Heh, you roundheads really don't know a lot of things..."
The woman showed no concern for their scoffing laughter.
At that moment, the ghostly flame displaying Zane and his companions suddenly showed the image of a towering man.
Upon closer inspection, the man's features were identical to the cluster of heads nearby.
However, unlike the floating heads, this man had a full body, complete with arms and legs, and an aura of vitality.
Meanwhile, the chair where the woman had been sitting was now empty, save for her robe, which hovered eerily in midair.
From within the robe came an ominous voice:
"Zane Sy, I'll be waiting for you."
"Let's see how this plays out..."
---
Zane and his two companions successfully revived the Goddess of Vengeance, gaining the powers she bestowed upon them.
Afterward, they lingered briefly in Atlantheia, preparing to set off in their spaceship.
Just as they were about to leave, an enormous giant appeared before them.
This giant, though shorter than the Goddess of Vengeance, was taller than Arishem, the tallest Celestial, by a full head—standing approximately a thousand meters tall.
He, too, wore armor, but unlike the Celestials, his face was visible, making him appear more human than the Celestial entities Zane had encountered before.
Zane immediately discerned that this giant had reached the pinnacle of the seventh dimension.
