Mike pushed open the door, his steps faltering.

"What's wrong?"

Nick Fury, following closely behind, asked curiously as he peered over Mike's shoulder into the room. His eyes widened in surprise.

Standing in the living room was a humanoid creature with green skin, a strong and muscular build.

A Skrull!

Mike strode into the room, and the others followed quickly behind him.

Clark and the others looked at the Skrull with curiosity, their gazes filled with wonder.

Carol, however, stepped in front of them and demanded, "What do you want?"

"I'd like to talk with you..." the Skrull replied in a calm tone, his gaze sweeping the room before landing on Clark. His expression froze in disbelief as he said, "You are..."

Mike's eyes narrowed, and he spoke first, his voice cold. "Who are you?"

From the moment Mike saw this Skrull, he immediately recognized the figure: Talos, the leader of the Skrulls.

In the original storyline, Talos had recognized that the orange cat, Goose, was a Flerken in an instant.

But Talos's current reaction… had he recognized Clark's identity?

Mike's heart skipped a beat.

If that's the case, this was very important information for him.

The Skrull paused, his gaze meeting Mike's filled with murderous intent, sensing the terrifying pressure emanating from him. Sweat appeared on his forehead. "I mean no harm. I'm a Skrull. My apologies for intruding into your home. My target is the woman beside you. I need her help. You can call me Talos."

The Skrulls had the ability to shapeshift. They could observe a target and then take on their appearance, even temporarily absorbing the memories of their transformed target. Because of their shapeshifting ability, they were extremely sensitive to danger, and Talos was one of the best in their ranks.

Having transformed into various races over the years, Talos recognized Clark instantly when he laid eyes on him.

Upon hearing this, Mike summoned two cards, disappearing with a flash and materializing beside Talos. He swiftly grabbed the Skrull by the neck, and the cards turned into glowing particles, vanishing.

In the blink of an eye, the two were gone from sight.

What just happened?

The others stood frozen, staring at the spot where Mike and Talos had been.

Suddenly, Mike and Talos appeared in a completely unfamiliar place.

Mike released Talos, who stumbled back two steps, his eyes wide with astonishment as he glanced at the nearby river. Despite his composure, a hint of shock appeared on his face. "What is the meaning of this?"

Mike looked at him, offering a small smile. "Relax. If I wanted to kill you, I wouldn't have brought you here."

Talos sighed in relief but didn't let his guard down.

At that moment, Mike spoke again, his tone certain. "You recognized Clark… the one with black hair, the oldest child. You know who he is, don't you?"

It wasn't a question; it was a statement.

Talos thought for a moment, then nodded.

Mike considered for a second, then asked, "There's something I need to know from you."

"Go ahead."

"Who is he?"

"Are you asking about... his race?" Talos asked cautiously.

Mike nodded.

Talos replied, "He's a Kryptonian."

Upon hearing this, Mike let out a quiet sigh in his mind.

Due to the system, he had previously wondered whether Clark was a creation of the system and if he might be the only Kryptonian in this world. But now…

He had his answer.

Kryptonians existed in this universe.

What confused him, however, was that there were no cities like Gotham or Metropolis on Earth, and after years of investigation, he hadn't found any superheroes like Batman or Wonder Woman.

He wasn't sure whether these individuals hadn't appeared yet or simply didn't exist in this world.

Personally, he leaned toward the latter possibility.

If they truly existed in this world, they would have left some trace.

Now that Krypton had appeared, this suggested… that a small portion of that universe had merged with this one?

How much had fused?

Mike couldn't be sure at the moment.

Talos noticed Mike's changing expressions and, feeling the tension in the air, began to speculate about Mike's connection to Krypton.

At that moment, Mike continued, "Where is Krypton?"

"Krypton is outside the Milky Way galaxy... and it has already been destroyed," Talos said with a tone of lament. "They rarely ventured into the Milky Way, and if I hadn't been wandering the universe searching for a new home for my people, I wouldn't have even known Krypton existed. After Krypton's destruction, there has been no trace of Kryptonians, which is why I was so shocked when I saw your son."

Mike nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. After a brief pause, he asked, "One last question—how did you recognize Clark?"

After all, Clark looked exactly like a human from Earth.

Talos smiled, then paused, trying to find the right words. "It's a talent of the Skrulls... Well, how should I put it..."

He thought for a moment and continued vaguely, "In our perception, each race gives us a different feeling. We can remember the sensations tied to the races we've transformed into."

A gift of perception?

Mike relaxed, saying, "Thank you for your answer."

With that, he conjured a card between his fingers and said, "Let's go back. Everything I've asked you, and anything about Clark—please keep it confidential."

"Wait!" Talos quickly called out, looking nervously at Mike. "Could you help me say a few good words to that woman? We... had some unpleasantness before."

Mike smiled. "I can only guarantee that she won't attack you in my house."

Talos let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you."

As long as he didn't have to face an immediate fight, he was confident that he could convince her to help him remember past events.

Mike placed his hand on Talos' shoulder and used teleportation to return home.

When they arrived back, Carol was sitting on the couch sipping juice, while Eric and Charles were watching TV. Clark and Nick Fury were talking about something.

Mike and Talos quietly appeared, causing the room to fall silent.

"Dad? What just happened?" Clark asked, puzzled.

Mike replied, "I had a few questions for Talos. Also, stay away from Fury."

Nick Fury looked innocent, and sarcastically remarked, "Questions? The way you were acting earlier, it seemed more like you were going to kill him."

Mike shot Fury a sharp look. "Can you keep quiet?"

Fury shrugged, hands up in a gesture of surrender.

At that moment, Carol set down her empty cup and looked at Talos. "Actually, I have some things to discuss with you too."

Talos blinked in surprise before smiling. "Well, that's perfect then."

Things were going smoother than he had anticipated.

He then spoke, "Using my shapeshifting ability, I found a recording of you and some information about you."

"Wow, that information still exists? Where did you find it? How come I didn't know about it?" Nick Fury asked, clearly surprised.

Talos nodded. "You're only a level three agent; you're too low-ranked."

Fury's eyebrow twitched. Talos had transformed into his superior, someone much higher in rank than he was.

Mike gave Fury a disdainful look. "How are you still a level three agent?"

Instantly, Fury's mood soured further.

Talos turned to Carol. "Perhaps that information will help you recall some things."

Carol stood up. "I've already regained my memories. I remember everything from back then."

Her face darkened as she clenched her fists, fury in her eyes. "The Kree deceived me."

"?"

Talos froze, stunned.

The situation was turning out to be even more unexpected than he'd imagined.

Nick Fury rubbed his hands together. "Can you two explain what's going on? I still have no idea what's happening here."
