Hell's Kitchen, Good Luck Restaurant

Alex Ray sat in the corner of the restaurant, quietly waiting for his friends.

Tonight, he had invited Kingpin, Tony, and a few others to dinner. There was also a more important reason for the gathering—he planned to introduce two newcomers, Doctor Octopus and Sandman.

The lighting in the restaurant was soft and warm, casting a mellow glow that reflected the quiet anticipation on Alex's face.

Business at the restaurant had been booming lately. With the kitchen staff steadily growing in number and skill, Alex no longer needed to cook himself.

So for once, he could sit back and relax, calmly waiting for his guests to arrive.

Just then, familiar footsteps echoed at the entrance. Alex looked up and saw Wanda walking in.

Her appearance caught his attention. She wore a sharp, professional outfit—crisp and elegant—and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. She looked like a corporate powerhouse, commanding attention like a female CEO stepping into her domain.

What surprised Alex more was that Wanda wasn't alone. A young girl stood beside her.

The girl looked to be around thirteen or fourteen. She was dressed plainly and clutched tightly to Wanda's sleeve, clearly uncomfortable in the unfamiliar setting.

Alex glanced at the girl curiously and asked, "Who's the little one?"

Wanda gently brushed the girl's hair, a soft tenderness flashing in her eyes as she explained, "Her name's Jessica Jones. Her family died in a car accident. After that, she was taken in by some twisted psycho."

"She's got powers too, from what I can tell. Not long ago, some guy with a purple complexion controlled her and sent her to cause trouble at the Fisk Building. I took care of him."

"She's been through a lot—losing her family, being manipulated like that. I couldn't just leave her alone. So I decided to adopt her. You're still the legal guardian, Alex. I figured I'm not quite old enough for that role."

Wanda's own history of losing her parents may have made her especially sensitive to Jessica's plight. Looking at the girl was like seeing a reflection of her younger self. If she hadn't met Alex, maybe she would've ended up like this too—manipulated, used, and discarded.

That thought alone had convinced Wanda to take Jessica in.

Alex listened quietly and then looked over at Jessica again—another future superhero from Hell's Kitchen. That purple-skinned guy could only have been the Purple Man.

For a moment, Alex felt like his place was turning into a haven for lost souls from across the multiverse.

He stood and walked over to Jessica, offering a calm smile and his hand. "Hi, Jessica. I'm Alex Ray. Welcome."

His voice was warm and steady, the kind that could wash away a storm of fear and uncertainty.

Jessica glanced up at him warily. She still looked nervous, but something in Alex's voice and smile made her feel oddly safe. She hesitated, then gently reached out and shook his hand.

Alex turned to Wanda. "Did you kill that purple freak?"

Wanda furrowed her brow, thinking back on the fight. "I didn't check. I knocked him down and rushed to help the girl. If he's not dead, he's definitely down an arm."

The contempt in her tone was unmistakable.

Alex wasn't too concerned. The Purple Man's power stemmed from mutated chemical hormones that allowed him to control minds through verbal commands—once absorbed through the skin.

But those with strong enough willpower could resist or even break free from his influence. Kingpin himself had once resisted the Purple Man's control.

Still, Alex wasn't one to leave loose ends. He made a mental note to hunt the guy down later and end it for good.

"Let her stay here and go to school with Peter and the others," Alex said suddenly. There was a mischievous glint in his eye. "Kids should be with other kids."

His comment surprised both Wanda and Jessica.

After all, in some versions of the story, Jessica and Peter were high school classmates. Now, Alex was nudging fate along earlier than expected. Who knew what sparks might fly?

Besides, Alex was Jessica's guardian now—and there were some things he just wouldn't allow.

Right then, Tony Stark and Kingpin's family walked through the door.

Tony caught sight of Alex and Wanda doting on Jessica and smirked. "You've been gone a month, and you're already playing house?"

His teasing sparked laughter from everyone nearby.

Kingpin and Vanessa looked at Alex with a warm, approving gaze.

Wanda, blushing at Tony's remark, quickly rushed to Vanessa and clung to her arm like a daughter-in-law. "It's not like that! She's just a kid I took in. She's had a rough time."

She explained Jessica's story to the Fisk couple.

Their son Richard, seeing someone close to his own age for the first time in a while, walked over and started chatting with Jessica. The two hit it off quickly, playing games and sharing stories like lifelong friends.

Tony stepped forward, grumbling, "So what dragged me out for Chinese food? You know I'd rather be having a cheeseburger."

He hadn't expected Alex to reach out. Stark had been tied up lately—upgrading his armor, managing Stark Industries affairs.

Alex motioned for someone behind him. "I wanted to introduce you to someone."

He pulled Doctor Octopus forward. "This is Dr. Otto Octavius. He's from a parallel universe—completely different from ours. He's a genius in the field of physics with plenty of groundbreaking achievements."

Tony raised an eyebrow as he observed the man. He could see the fire of curiosity in Otto's eyes—a hunger for knowledge that mirrored his own.

"Dr. Otto, meet Tony Stark," Alex said. "One of the brightest minds in our universe. I figure you two will have plenty to talk about."

Tony couldn't help but puff up a little at the praise, though he quickly composed himself and extended a hand. "Nice to meet you, Doc. I'm sure we'll both learn something new."

Otto shook it eagerly, eyes lighting up. "Looking forward to it, Mr. Stark."

And just like that, the two launched into a spirited discussion. From personal discoveries to grand theoretical debates, they dove deep into physics as if they'd known each other for years.

Alex watched the pair, satisfied.

Meanwhile, Kingpin came over and sat beside him, smiling. "Looks like your journey's going well. Things in Hell's Kitchen aren't too bad either."

Alex grinned. "You're running the place now. I heard you even became a school principal. Must be living the dream."

Kingpin burst into laughter and patted Alex on the shoulder. "You should visit the school sometime. The kids are curious about their mysterious founder."

Alex nodded and pulled something from his coat—a fruit with strange spiral markings. He handed it to Kingpin.

"I brought this back for you."

Kingpin examined the fruit curiously. "What is it?"

"It's called a Devil Fruit," Alex explained with a grin. "Eat it, and you'll gain powers. This one's called the Shine Shine(Diamond) Fruit. It'll give you a body as hard as diamond."

Kingpin's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the fruit glowing faintly in Alex's hand.
