Marvel : Deadpool Is My Best Friend

Chapter 176: Chapter 176 : Let me teach you how to use lightning, Thor

Odin's words left everyone in the hall stunned.

Thor looked at Alex Ray with growing interest, a flicker of excitement in his eyes. For him, encountering a worthy opponent was exhilarating—especially when that opponent was a sorcerer from Midgard, shrouded in mysterious, unseen power.

Odin's declaration had wiped away Thor's earlier dissatisfaction and gloom completely.

He believed Alex had been summoned here specifically so he could test himself against the Midgardian sorcerer. The thought alone reignited his fighting spirit. He couldn't wait to unleash his strength and remind everyone that he was the mightiest warrior in all of Asgard.

On the other side, Loki's expression was filled with disdain.

In his mind, mortals from Midgard were laughably insignificant.

He couldn't understand why Odin placed such importance on two mortals. Arrogant as ever, Loki believed himself to be the rightful first sorcerer of the Nine Realms. He scoffed at the reputation of the Ancient One, let alone the so-called Alex Ray standing before them now.

The Ancient One, however, was surprised by Alex's performance.

She already knew he wielded the Space Stone and had mastered Chaos Magic—but she hadn't expected him to control thunder and lightning as well. That revelation made her reassess Alex entirely.

She felt a sense of comfort knowing his strength had grown. With her end approaching, she could entrust Earth's protection to him without hesitation.

Alex, on the other hand, was briefly caught off guard by Odin's assessment.

He wasn't surprised that the All-Father could perceive his powers, but he was frustrated by the attention.

In his mind, he muttered, "You're nothing. Your whole family is nothing."

Still, he quickly collected himself and replied with a polite tone, "I'm just an ordinary person with a touch of power. I wouldn't call myself a magician."

"Ordinary?" Odin raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed with the response.

He gazed at Alex with piercing intensity and said slowly, "I doubt it's that simple. Your energy is unlike anything I've seen. No one has ever controlled so many distinct forces at once. You're hiding something—aren't you?"

It was obvious to Alex now: Odin wasn't one to be easily deceived.

Meeting Odin's scrutiny head-on, Alex's voice turned cold and calm. "I'm not sure why the Ancient One brought me here, but Your Majesty, your tone doesn't seem very hospitable for a guest."

When Odin realized the Ancient One had brought Alex to him, he assumed this man was her chosen successor to the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

He turned to the Ancient One with a questioning glance—is this truly the one?

She nodded silently.

Thor, standing nearby, flared with rage the moment Alex addressed Odin with anything less than reverence.

He stormed forward, voice thundering with fury: "You dare speak to my father like that, mortal? Let me teach you some respect!"

To Thor, such arrogance toward Odin was an unforgivable offense. It was a direct insult to their King.

Alex, however, stood calmly in the center of the grand hall, unshaken by Thor's intensity.

His gaze remained locked on Odin, his voice steady and sharp: "Are you sure you want to escalate this, Your Majesty? I can't promise your precious son will come out unscathed."

The tension in the hall became palpable. All eyes were fixed on Alex now.

Odin's brow furrowed as he studied Alex further, his expression unreadable.

The Ancient One remained silent. She could have intervened, but she knew Odin well—if she stepped in, he'd only see Alex as weaker.

So instead, she watched with interest, silently rooting for Alex to put Odin in his place. It would be good for him to experience a little humility.

Thor, already furious, looked ready to explode. Lightning sparked in his eyes, and he raised Mjolnir with both hands.

Without warning, he charged.

But Alex didn't move. He smiled—and vanished from sight.

Thor's strike slammed into nothing.

Alex had reappeared behind him, his expression calm and mocking: "You're Thor, the God of Thunder, right? From the way you swing that hammer, I'm starting to think you're more like the God of Hammers."

Thor's fury reached its peak. He wasn't the God of Hammers—he was the God of Thunder and Lightning!

Electricity crackled across his entire body. His aura surged violently as he launched another furious attack.

This time, his blows shook the foundations of the hall.

But Alex was like a phantom, gliding through Thor's strikes as though dancing in a garden. He weaved effortlessly between blows, never once being touched. He moved like lightning—agile, fluid, almost mocking.

Who's the real God of Thunder now?

Though Thor's power was immense, he couldn't land a single hit.

Alex remained serene. He knew Odin was testing him—but he had no intention of aligning with Asgard. Their arrogance repulsed him. They'd never once asked what he wanted.

Besides, he saw through the rot hiding behind Asgard's shining gold. He didn't need that trouble.

If anything, he would teach Odin a lesson.

"Stand and fight me like a warrior! What kind of man keeps dodging like a coward?!" Thor roared, voice booming like thunder.

He was livid, humiliated by Alex's evasive maneuvers. His temper was fraying fast.

But Alex only chuckled and gave no answer.

Instead, he reached to his waist and drew a sword—a Zanpakutō, its sleek blade glowing with ethereal light. It radiated a mysterious, immense power.

Thor's eyes lit up when he saw the weapon. He thought he had finally provoked Alex into fighting seriously.

"Yes! A true battle between warriors!" he shouted, brandishing Mjolnir with glee.

He had longed for a fair fight—something worthy of his strength.

But Alex didn't respond to the challenge. He simply raised the sword and murmured softly,

"Shatter, Kyoka Suigetsu."

The blade vanished instantly.

Thor blinked in confusion. "Where did your weapon go?" he asked, alarmed and wary.

He couldn't make sense of what just happened. The disappearance unsettled him.

Alex sneered. "Don't worry about it, Hammer Boy. Instead, let me show you how real thunder and lightning are wielded."
