Marvel : Deadpool Is My Best Friend

Chapter 175: Chapter 175 : Odin: What on earth are you?

"Is this Asgard?" Alex Ray's voice echoed beside the empty portal, his eyes filled with shock and curiosity.

As he stepped through, Alex was instantly captivated by the world before him.

It felt like he had left behind the harshness of reality and entered a mythical paradise—a realm of legends.

Asgard, the fabled domain of gods, now stood before him in all its glory.

The Asgardian sky was a deep, vibrant blue, like an enormous sapphire—crystal-clear, mesmerizing, and impossible to look away from.

Sunlight bathed the realm, yet it lacked the harshness of heat. Instead, it brought a comforting warmth that seemed to ease every burden.

The air was clean, crisp, and faintly sweet—as though it could wash away the residue of the world and cleanse the soul.

Alex inhaled deeply, savoring a serenity unlike anything he'd ever experienced.

As he surveyed his surroundings, his eyes wandered across countless structures spread across the golden realm. They blended ancient elegance with modern minimalism, every building radiating a unique grandeur that was utterly breathtaking.

Alex's first thought was how amazing it would be if Hell's Kitchen looked like this. Compared to Asgard, Hell's Kitchen truly was hell on Earth.

But then he smirked at the thought. If Hell's Kitchen ever looked like Asgard, it might as well be called Angel Kitchen—and that wouldn't sit right with him at all.

Everyone in Hell's Kitchen had earned their scars. Transforming it into a divine haven would erase the grit, the spirit, the essence of the place.

Put simply: Hell's Kitchen is to Marvel what Gotham is to the DC universe. The only difference? Gotham gets all the fame.

Marvel might survive without Hell's Kitchen. But DC? It's nothing without Gotham.

Alex's goal was simple—make Hell's Kitchen the strongest neighborhood in the Marvel Universe.

The Asgardian guards had noticed him from the moment he arrived. But clearly, they recognized the Ancient One who accompanied him. No hostility. Only deference.

They bowed respectfully to the Ancient One. Her reputation clearly echoed even in realms far from Earth.

"Wait here a moment. I'll speak with King Odin," the Ancient One said.

Alex nodded in acknowledgment. At first, he'd wondered why she didn't just open a portal directly into the palace.

But thinking it over, it made sense. This was Asgard—the personal domain of the All-Father. Barging into the royal hall without warning would be like walking into someone's home uninvited.

If you were squatting at home and your buddy kicked the door open, you'd beat him with a frying pan.

No matter how powerful the Ancient One was, respect was still due.

Alex knew better than to overstep. The last batch of Avengers who trespassed into his territory had already paid the price.

Besides, those guards standing around in gleaming armor weren't just for show. Each one of them looked like they had the strength to go toe-to-toe with Captain America.

While none of them seemed overwhelmingly powerful individually, there was strength in numbers.

And if Alex had to guess, these guards weren't even the elite. The real heavy hitters had probably marched off to war alongside Thor.

Those left behind didn't seem particularly motivated. Why would they be?

Born into divinity, never lacking for anything, growing stronger simply by existing—what drive would you have?

The people of Hell's Kitchen? They fought from the moment they could walk. In a one-on-one deathmatch, the underdogs from Hell's Kitchen would win any day.

That was the truth of the world. Some were born gods. Others were thrown out with the trash.

Alex let out a quiet sigh.

He also knew all of this beauty, all this stability in Asgard, existed because Odin was still alive.

Once Odin passed, the realm would fall apart. The Dark Elves would invade. Hela would rise and tear it to pieces.

And after that? Thanos would wipe out nearly all of Asgard with a single snap, leaving behind just one fleeing spaceship.

Glory meant nothing without power to protect it. Even gods could bleed.

Alex's resolve hardened. He had to keep pushing—make allies, grow stronger, never stop.

Before long, a tall, stern soldier clad in golden armor approached.

"His Majesty Odin will see you now. The Ancient One is speaking with him. Please, follow me."

Alex followed without hesitation.

Odin's temple stood at the highest point of Asgard—majestic, towering, sacred.

Carvings adorned its walls—scenes of ancient battles, swirling runes radiating arcane energy.

The entire hall thrummed with power and solemnity.

The guards stationed inside were different. Serious. Disciplined. Their auras were heavy.

Alex sensed it immediately—these warriors were leagues above the outer guards.

Each one rivaled Kingpin after consuming the Shining Fruit.

It reminded Alex why Asgard once ruled the stars.

He couldn't help but wonder—how did Thor, with an army like this, manage to squander it all?

By the time Thor led Asgard, he and Valkyrie were all that remained. These warriors? Gone.

Alex blamed Thor. The guy was a terrible king.

Honestly, the movies didn't do Loki justice either. Alex always thought Loki had the brains, the calm, the adaptability.

Loki was built for politics. Thor only knew how to fight—and fight he did, until his people were gone.

Granted, Loki was selfish. He loved himself first and foremost. He'd only consider others when his own life wasn't at stake.

Still, Supreme Loki and the God of Stories both emerged from endless loops of failure and rebirth. They grew because they had to.

If Thor and Loki could merge into one ruler, Asgard might've had a chance. But the world doesn't allow two kings in one kingdom.

Their downfall was inevitable.

Suddenly, a voice snapped Alex out of his thoughts.

From the depths of the temple, a figure emerged—tall, radiant in golden armor. His eyes glowed with ancient wisdom and power.

"Welcome to Asgard, magician of Midgard," the voice boomed.

"But your aura… it's chaotic. I sense the power of chaos… the power of space… and… lightning?"

The god's gaze narrowed.

"What exactly are you?"
