Marvel : Deadpool Is My Best Friend

Chapter 157: Chapter 157

Just as Nick Fury quickly packed his things and prepared to leave quietly, a rapid and violent knock on the door suddenly rang out, shattering the entire room.

His expression instantly turned serious. The traitor's tracking had been faster than he expected.

As an experienced agent, Nick Fury knew he had to stay calm in such an emergency.

After all these years, would Hydra really leave no way out?

He immediately ran toward the escape route.

However, just as he was about to step into the escape passage, a huge force slammed into the alloy security door.

The door panel, originally indestructible, tore apart like paper under the impact. It was kicked away instantly, whistling toward Nick Fury.

Fury's reaction was lightning-fast. He twisted his body to the side and narrowly avoided a fatal blow.

Immediately, a group of fully armed Hydra agents stormed into the room like wolves and tigers, surrounding him.

Their eyes were sharp and fierce, as if they wanted to tear him apart.

Mr. Fantastic even stretched out a pair of elongated hands to tie up Fury, fearing he might escape.

Seeing this scene, Fury realized escape was impossible. He looked outside and saw Mr. Fantastic and Crossbones entering, with his hands bound by Mr. Fantastic's stretchy arms, followed by Alexander Pierce.

Although surrounded by layers of enemies, Fury maintained the composure of a seasoned agent and calmly said to Pierce, "I didn't expect you to find my hiding place so quickly."

His gaze shifted to Mr. Fantastic, the genius with a gentle smile and an IQ of 200.

A flicker of doubt and complexity crossed Fury's eyes.

He knew that although Pierce was cunning, he alone could not have discovered this location so quickly.

Mr. Fantastic must have helped.

He wondered, why had Mr. Fantastic and Pierce teamed up? When did they start working together?

Fury was full of doubts and confusion.

He admitted he had been negligent—focusing all his attention on Alex Ray, unaware that a traitor was within the Avengers.

But there was no time to dwell on this.

He knew his priority was to find a way out. As long as he could break Mr. Fantastic's restraints, he still had a chance to escape.

While Fury was calculating his countermeasures, Pierce's laughter broke the tense silence.

He looked at Fury with a joy that words couldn't express.

He had endured humiliation and hardship, waiting for this day.

Today, he could finally avenge his previous defeat and crush his old rival who once dominated him.

Pierce approached Fury, adjusted his glasses, and said sarcastically, "Director Fury—no, I should call you Nick now. Didn't expect to see this day, did you?"

He wanted to see the fear, loss, and despair on Fury's face. That would be his greatest satisfaction.

But Fury didn't show any of those emotions.

He remained calm, almost indifferent, and asked, "Pierce, what do you want? Shouldn't we be fighting together against Alex Ray, the one threatening world peace?"

Pierce's smile froze.

He hadn't expected Fury to remain calm and even question him like that.

Stunned for a moment, he coldly replied, "Nick, do you think I'm still the same person I was? I no longer need your guidance.

As for Alex Ray, I will handle him. You just need to stay here and wait for your doomsday."

Mr. Fantastic interrupted at that moment: "Nick Fury, thanks to you, we already have a plan to deal with Alex Ray. Don't worry—your death won't be in vain."

His words dripped with sarcasm and contempt, mocking Fury's powerless struggle.

Fury noticed the sudden interruption and saw a flicker of dissatisfaction flash across Pierce's face.

At that moment, Fury realized Mr. Fantastic and Pierce weren't truly allies—more like uneasy collaborators.

This revelation sparked an idea in Fury.

He turned to Mr. Fantastic and said in a tempting tone, "Mr. Reed, I don't know what Pierce promised you, but I can offer the same—and more. Just let me go. How about it?"

Pierce, Crossbones, and the others immediately looked at Mr. Fantastic warily, worried the offer might shake his loyalty.

Mr. Fantastic felt the sudden tension around him and cursed inwardly.

But his face betrayed no emotion. He quickly explained to Pierce, "Don't worry, Mr. Pierce, I remain loyal to you. Nick Fury is using a divisive tactic—he has no other options."

Hearing this, Pierce frowned briefly before breaking into a cruel smile.

He turned to Fury and said, "It seems you've run out of options. You're starting to alienate us. I trust Mr. Reed very much—our relationship is closer than you think."

Then he ordered his men to hand him a gun so he could execute Fury himself.

Seeing this, Fury's heart sank. His plan to sow discord had been uncovered.

But he refused to give up and searched for one last chance to turn the tide.

Reluctantly, he asked, "Why are you so determined to kill me?"

He had asked himself this question countless times but never found an answer.

Now, he hoped to find clues in Pierce's words.

Pierce's eyes flashed behind his glasses as if considering how to answer.

Then he slowly spoke words that shocked Fury to his core:

"Hail Hydra!"

At that moment, a gunshot rang out, and Fury's head exploded instantly.

In his final moments, Fury finally understood the truth.

Hydra was not dead—they had been pulling the strings in secret all along.

And he, who had fought Hydra his entire life, finally died at their hands.

Perhaps this was his fate—both the beginning and the end.

The others heard Pierce's cry and joined in shouting, "Hail Hydra!"

Their voices echoed into the night sky, filled with fanaticism and loyalty.

Meanwhile, Mr. Fantastic—who had always seen himself as a man of justice—stood frozen, confusion and fear etched across his face.

He had believed he was part of a struggle within S.H.I.E.L.D., fighting on the side of good.

But now he realized he had been caught in a battle between Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D., and he was actually a villain.

"Oh no, we're on a pirate ship."

That was the only thought running through Mr. Fantastic Reed's mind at that moment.
