Marvel Cybernetic Girl

Chapter 354: 354 Breaking the Cocoon [100 PS]

"Master, the Vision Project has been reinitiated. We're currently uploading JARVIS's core programming and activating the vibranium body," Cortana reported to Kagura.

"Next, we'll need your help. We require power on the level of an Infinity Stone to facilitate the rapid fusion between Ultron's vibranium body and JARVIS's core system."

"Understood," Kagura nodded.

"Connect my core energy externally. I'll channel the Infinity Stones within me into Vision as pure energy. Let VEDA handle the auxiliary calculations."

"Command confirmed, Master."

The Infinity Stones were an essential element in the creation of Vision.

When Ultron designed the vibranium body, he had hardcoded it to require the power of an Infinity Stone for activation.

Fortunately, Kagura had no shortage of Infinity Stones.

———————————————————————

The Vision Project proceeded in an orderly, systematic fashion.

Unlike the MCU version stored in her memories, this Vision didn't have the Mind Stone embedded in his forehead.

Even from the most critical scientific perspective, both the original Vision and Cortana were true artificial lifeforms with souls—after all, Vision had an Infinity Stone in his head.

But if Kagura recreated Vision exactly as he existed in the MCU, then he would hold no experimental value for her dimensional arcane fusion research.

For that, the subject needed to be an artificial construct—one not brought to life by an Infinity Stone.

[Core Energy Link Established]

[External Power Source Connected Successfully]

[Initiating Energy Transfer]

Advanced auxiliary equipment linked Kagura to the medical capsule containing Vision's body.

Through the Reality and Mind Stones within her, energy was transferred.

Ultron had tried to make himself into the ultimate being—but the final step he never completed would now be fulfilled by Kagura.

Only this time, she wouldn't be creating a mechanical monster bent on world domination, but rather a true superhero.

Perhaps even the strongest Avenger of them all—Vision.

At the same time, this would be the world's first artificially intelligent synthetic lifeform capable of using dimensional arcane arts.

———————————————————————

The technology behind Vision's creation was already extremely mature.

Thanks to Wakanda's technological outreach and global advancement, humanity had deeply analyzed the vibranium body Ultron had crafted.

Even during the years the Vision Project was sealed away, Tony Stark had been continuously refining the theory behind it.

Eventually, JARVIS's core programming was successfully integrated into the vibranium body Ultron had left behind.

[Core Program Upload Complete]

[Energy Core Fully Charged]

[Initiating Physical Activation]

[Cognitive Signal Detected]

[Synthetic Code Name: Vision]

[Activation Successful!]

'BZZZZT—!'

Warning lights flickered around the medical chamber as electric pulses traced bright blue energy veins across its silver-white surface.

Through the quantum computing system VEDA, Cortana monitored both Vision's activation process and the energy fluctuations within Kagura.

"Master, it's a success!" Cortana announced after reviewing all the data. "The Vision Project has met all projected metrics. The artificial intelligence lifeform known as Vision is about to awaken."

'BEEP BEEP—!' A burst of light flashed from the pod.

'PSHH—!'

High-pressure gas vented from the capsule, filling the research hall with a dense white mist.

It was a supercoolant compound used for energy conduction and body stabilization.

Its release signaled that the pod's tasks were complete. The moment everyone had been waiting for—the opening of the capsule—was here.

[All Systems Nominal]

[Initiating Hatch Sequence as Per Protocol]

[Hatch Unlocked]

[Releasing Synthetic Body]

'CLACK!'

The capsule unlocked.

Then the hatch swung open.

More gas billowed out like a cloudburst.

From the thick mist, a tall, imposing figure began to rise.

No, it wasn't a sweet potato...

It was a towering red android—Vision had awakened!

Yes, yes, it was him! The real deal!

Disconnecting her core energy link from the lab's system, Kagura stepped forward.

Behold!

That crimson skin like a baked yam...

That nearly flawless, ideal male physique...

That proudly bald head gleaming with confidence...

And—well, let's not even start on the… chickenless metaphors.

Yes, it was undeniably Vision!

Unlike the MCU version who was resurrected with a lightning bolt hammer smack from Thor, this Vision had been born through a proper, systematic process.

He had no initial aggression, no hostility, and no signs of malfunction.

Granted, without the Mind Stone's power, this Vision might be slightly less powerful than the original, he wouldn't be shooting lasers from his forehead, for one.

But that didn't matter.

Soon, he'd be participating in the dimensional arcane fusion experiments.

Once that happens, this Vision—capable of wielding arcane arts—might become even stronger than his MCU counterpart.

That was for later, though.

Right now, the most important thing was to check on his condition.

"JARVIS… No, I suppose I should call you Vision now," Kagura said, stepping up to the newly awakened super-synthetic being. "How does it feel—to have a body?"

There was still a trace of confusion in Vision's eyes.

Understandable.

He had just been born.

Feeling disoriented in a new world was only natural.

Cortana had once said that when an intangible artificial intelligence suddenly acquires a physical body, the resulting disparity and dissonance could be overwhelming—difficult to adjust to in the beginning.

At that moment, Vision glanced around the room, and finally let his gaze rest on Kagura.

"Hello, Miss Kagura. It seems your experiment was a success…" he said, lifting his hand and staring at his crimson palm.

"The sensation of having a body is… rather strange. But… hmm, yes, I must say—it's not bad at all."

A subtle smile appeared on Vision's face.

Then, utilizing the morphing properties of his vibranium body, he clothed himself in a sleek gray bodysuit and draped a golden cape over his shoulders.

"Hello, Vision," Cortana greeted as she approached, holding a sleek glass-like holographic data pad.

"First off, I'm not sure how much of J.A.R.V.I.S.'s memory you still retain, so allow me to introduce myself: I'm Cortana, an artificial intelligence lifeform, like you."

"Miss Cortana, I haven't lost any memories," Vision replied with a calm smile.

"Though I now believe I'm no longer J.A.R.V.I.S., I am still glad to see you again. All of my bodily systems are functioning normally, and the subsystems are stable. The experiment was a success."

"That's a relief to hear," Cortana smiled warmly. "Because we still have some very important experiments to conduct next."

"I understand," Vision said with a nod, then looked over at Kagura.

"Miss Kagura, Miss Cortana—if possible, I'd like to request half an hour to re-analyze and synchronize with this new body."

"I also need to reestablish my link with the Stark Industries network. Mr. Stark might be a bit lost without me."

"Of course. That's your call," Kagura nodded. "Just let Cortana know when you're ready to continue."

"As for me, I need to get back to working with the arcane mages. Dormammu's threat hasn't ended yet, and the resurrected Kaecilius could return at any time."

"We must find a way to stop them quickly."

Kagura had no objections to Vision's request, though deep down, she couldn't help but chuckle internally.

Ahh, what a loyal and dependable Vision! So much more approachable than the original one with his overbearing mystique.

In the original MCU timeline, once J.A.R.V.I.S. became Vision, he completely distanced himself from Stark Industries.

Even when Tony Stark replaced him with the new AI assistant "F.R.I.D.A.Y.," Vision didn't seem to care in the slightest.

But this Vision she created… seemed a little more human.

Miss Wanda, you better thank me someday!

"Command acknowledged, Master," Cortana replied. "Vision will continue working with us, and the dimensional fusion experiments will begin soon."

"Great! Then I'm off!" Kagura beamed. "I'm so glad Vision was successfully brought to life. I'll admit—I was a little nervous back there!"

An orange portal opened once more as Kagura stepped through, heading toward Kamar-Taj, thousands of miles away.

…But just as the portal was about to close, a thought struck her.

This Vision… was a machine lifeform without a soul. If the dimensional fusion experiment succeeded—

What would fill the void inside him, the space where a soul should be?

Would he… gain a true soul of his own?

Or would it become something else entirely…?
