Marvel Brodcast : Spoiling Spider-man

Chapter 473: An Interlude in the Theater

[Quentin Beck shook his head with understanding, "Look! Just keep them indoors! In a safe place for a few hours and everything will be fine!"]

[The 3rd generation Spider-Man looked up at the starlit Prague sky, "This feels so nice! You know what? I really like having someone to talk to about the work of being a superhero!"]

[Quentin Beck smiled warmly, "I'm here whenever you need it! Now go ahead! Win this battle! Then you'll have the whole summer to deal with Brad!"]

["See you on the battlefield!" Spider-Man picked up his bag and performed a graceful backflip over the rooftop edge to land in the alley below the building. The sound of his landing on the cobblestones attracted the attention of an elderly couple passing by on their evening stroll.]

[He instinctively greeted them in Italian: "Scusi!" Then he immediately realized that he had spoken the wrong language and corrected himself awkwardly, "Sorry! I shouldn't be speaking Italian here in Prague!"]

[He reached into his bag, took out the high-tech glasses and put them on, "Okay! E.D.I.T.H.! Let's do this!"]

[E.D.I.T.H. responded immediately with her smooth synthetic voice, "Hello, Peter!"]

["Hey! I need to find a way to keep my friends indoors and safe for the next few hours!"]

["I'll see what I can arrange for you!" E.D.I.T.H. replied efficiently.]

[The scene shifted to the hotel lobby, where Mr. Harrington suddenly clapped his hands to get the students' attention and announced enthusiastically: "Good news, everyone! We have a special cultural opportunity! We're going to the opera!"]

[The students' faces immediately fell with disappointment. One student groaned, "What a joke! Opera? Seriously? Why would we want to do that?"]

[Teacher Dell quickly waved his hands repeatedly to distance himself from this unpopular decision, "Hey, don't look at me! It's none of my business!"]

[MJ was equally confused and voiced what everyone was thinking, "Wait, aren't we supposed to be going to the Prague Light Festival tonight?"]

[Mr. Harrington tried to put a positive spin on the situation, "This is a gift from above! Isn't it wonderful? The travel agency suddenly provided us with all these premium theater tickets! Completely free of charge! Do you have any idea how expensive opera tickets usually are in Prague?"]

[Ned, sitting nearby, realized something was happening and turned to look directly at Spider-Man. Spider-Man widened his eyes meaningfully and gave him a subtle nod. Ned immediately understood that this was Peter's doing.]

[Flash bluntly expressed what everyone was feeling: "I don't know how much they cost! Because none of us have ever thought about going to the opera! Never in our lives!!!"]

[Ned, knowing that Spider-Man had important reasons for this arrangement, immediately jumped in to support the plan: "Actually, guys, I think this could be a really valuable cultural expansion for all of us!"]

["Thank you, Ned!" Mr. Harrington looked at him with genuine gratitude. If no one had spoken up to support the idea, he would have been completely embarrassed in front of the entire class.]

[Harrington continued with forced enthusiasm, "Students! The next four hours may very well be the most culturally enriching four hours of this entire trip!"]

[When the students heard the duration, they couldn't contain their horror and shouted in unison: "Four hours?!!"]

[Ned continued to help sell the idea despite the obvious resistance: "Come on, guys! I really think it's going to be more fun than we expect! Seriously!"]

"Oh! Isn't this method a bit too simplistic?" Tony frowned as he watched the scene unfold. He hadn't expected E.D.I.T.H. to come up with such a basic solution to the problem.

It wasn't that the opera house was unsafe as a location, but the students certainly wouldn't accept staying trapped in there for four hours, and they would definitely try to sneak out at some point during the performance!

"Those kids will definitely not stay put obediently for that long!" Captain America also recognized that this method was unreliable at best.

But there really was no choice in the matter, because it was indeed one of the few ways to ensure they stayed indoors and relatively safe. If they were outside wandering the streets when the Fire Elemental attacked, it would definitely cause mass panic and chaos, and it would be far too easy for a deadly stampede to occur!

[Harrington began leading the reluctant group toward the opera house, trying to maintain his positive attitude: "Now you'll all be glad that I insisted you bring your nice formal clothes!"]

[Flash continued complaining bitterly about the arrangement: "Yeah! We'd much rather sit through a four-hour opera than go to what's supposed to be the biggest party and festival in the world!"]

[Teacher Dell still tried to distance himself from the unpopular decision, "I told you all! This whole thing is none of my business!"]

[Spider-Man and MJ walked together at the back of the group, and Agent Hill's voice suddenly crackled through his concealed earpiece.]

["Parker! Can you hear me clearly? Communication test, one, two, three!"]

[When they arrived at the ornate Prague Opera House, the vast auditorium was nearly empty, with only a few elderly couples scattered throughout the premium seats.]

[One student looked around at the sparse audience and commented sarcastically, "Okay! We're here! And we've clearly missed the peak attendance time!"]

["Yeah! Some peak!" Teacher Dell couldn't help but start complaining again about the situation.]

[But Harrington remained determinedly optimistic, "Actually, we're very lucky! We got some of the best seats in the house! Let's go find our section!"]

[Brad turned around and spotted MJ, calling out to her with a confident smile, "Hey, MJ! I saved a seat right next to me for you!"]

[Spider-Man was among the last to enter the theater, and when he saw MJ in her elegant dress, he was momentarily speechless before managing to say, "You look absolutely beautiful tonight!"]

[MJ responded with her characteristic dry humor: "So you're saying I'm just here to look pretty? Like a decorative vase?"]

[Spider-Man immediately began to backtrack nervously, realizing how his compliment might have sounded: "NO! That's not what I meant at all! I meant that you look..."]

[Seeing his flustered and nervous expression, MJ decided to put him out of his misery and said with a small smile: "Relax, Peter! I was just teasing you! Thank you for the compliment!"]

[Spider-Man let out a visible sigh of relief, "Oh! You're welcome!"]

[MJ took a moment to look at his formal suit and returned the compliment: "You look quite handsome yourself tonight!"]

["Thank you!"]

[At that moment, Betty entered the theater with Ned, and she immediately noticed the ornate table by the entrance, which was displaying an array of vintage opera glasses for rent.]

["Oh! My goodness! Look at these adorable theater binoculars! They're so vintage and cute! Can we get some..."]

[Ned, happy to indulge her excitement, replied, "Yeah! Do you want a pair for us?"]

[Seeing Ned and Betty's romantic interaction, MJ looked at Spider-Man with a somewhat shy expression and suggested: "How about we share a pair of opera glasses too?"]

[Spider-Man was genuinely surprised and pleased by the suggestion, "You mean you actually want to sit next to me?"]

["Yeah!" MJ looked at him with uncharacteristic shyness, a faint blush on her cheeks.]

[Just as Spider-Man was about to eagerly agree to the arrangement, Nick Fury's voice crackled urgently through his earpiece, "Spider-Man! Are you in position yet?"]

[Spider-Man, distracted by the communication, reflexively answered, "NO!"]

[Nick Fury's voice came back with confusion, "Okay, did you just say 'NO' to me?"]

[The veteran spy was clearly puzzled, "Why haven't you taken your surveillance position yet?"]

[MJ, who had only heard Peter's side of the conversation, looked hurt and confused, "Wait, you don't want to sit next to me? Or is it that you don't want to share the opera glasses?"]

[Spider-Man found himself trying to listen to both Nick Fury's urgent instructions through his earpiece and MJ's wounded questions at the same time. He pressed his hands against his ears and discretely disabled the communication on his end so that Fury couldn't overhear his conversation.]

["That's not what I meant at all! Please, go ahead and find us good seats! I'll go get our opera glasses!"]

[MJ nodded, though still looking a bit uncertain, "Okay, I'll save you a seat right next to me! There are plenty of empty seats to choose from! I'll go find us a good spot!"]

["Perfect!"]

[Nick Fury, unable to hear Spider-Man's responses now, started to sound more urgent through the earpiece, "Parker? Parker, are you there?"]

[After MJ walked away to find their seats, Spider-Man immediately reactivated his earpiece and responded, "Yes! I'm here! I'm..."]

[He quickly stopped Ned, who was walking past with Betty, "Hey! I have to leave right now! Can you please tell MJ that I'm suddenly not feeling well?"]

[Ned, understanding immediately what was about to happen, looked at his best friend with concern, "Okay, I'll cover for you! But Peter, please be careful out there! And no matter what happens, please don't let that monster get anywhere near this theater!"]

["I know, Ned! I promise I'll keep everyone safe! Okay?"]

["Okay! I trust you!"]

["Thanks! I really have to go now!"]

[Before leaving the theater, Spider-Man took one last, reluctant look back at MJ, who was settling into their seats. Ned walked over and handed her the opera glasses they had planned to share.]

[Brad, noticing that Spider-Man was about to leave, stood up with a smug expression and rudely raised his middle finger in Peter's direction, then immediately moved to sit in the empty seat next to MJ.]

[Spider-Man felt a surge of irritation and actually started to turn back toward Brad, but Nick Fury's urgent voice through his earpiece stopped him in his tracks.]

["Parker! You'd better get moving to your position right now!"]
