Chapter 471: Attack
[Unexpectedly, Flash, who was sitting next to him, suddenly took the glasses away and put them on. "Nice glasses, Parker! How can you afford this?"]
["Flash! Give it back to me! Give it back to me!" The 3rd generation Spider-Man was a little anxious and immediately urged Flash.]
[But Flash was used to bullying Spider-Man, so he slapped his hand away, "NO! I'm praising you sincerely!"]
["Please give it back to me!" Spider-Man got anxious and subconsciously slapped Flash in the face, knocking him unconscious.]
[Peter looked at the unconscious Flash and apologized: "I'm sorry!"]
[Then he took off his glasses and put them back on, and immediately whispered, "E.D.I.T.H.! Don't kill Brad!"]
["Peter! Do you want me to cancel the drone strike on Brad Davis?" E.D.I.T.H.'s voice responded through the glasses.]
[At this time, the female classmate who had just seen Spider-Man knock out Flash suddenly asked: "Did you hit Flash just now?"]
[Spider-Man subconsciously answered her: "NO!"]
[E.D.I.T.H. misunderstood this as a denial and ordered directly: "Firing!"]
[The drone immediately opened fire on the bus carrying Brad. The 3rd generation Spider-Man turned around and shot out spider silk that stuck to the steering wheel, pulling hard to force the vehicle to swerve to the side. The bullet directly penetrated the rearview mirror.]
["Oh! Be careful!!!" Teacher Dell screamed in fear.]
[Dimitri desperately held onto the steering wheel. The bus nearly fell off a cliff and swayed dangerously on the winding mountain road.]
[Teacher Dell roared: "Do you think this is a German unlimited speed highway?!!"]
[Dimitri opened his eyes wide and looked at Spider-Man through the rearview mirror. He saw that the mirror was pierced by a bullet hole.]
[After the vehicle stabilized slightly, Spider-Man looked behind the vehicle and found that the drone was still following them, "E.D.I.T.H.!"]
[After he finished speaking, he realized that his glasses had fallen off at some point. He had just picked them up and put them back on when he heard E.D.I.T.H.'s second command: "Execute the second attack!"]
["Peter! Sit down in your chair! Fasten your seat belt!" Teacher Harrington saw Spider-Man standing alone in the middle of the car and quickly told him.]
[Spider-Man quickly came up with a way to divert attention: "Look! A baby wild goat!!!"]
["Wild goat baby?" Everyone's attention was diverted by this sentence, and they all leaned over to look to the right of the car.]
[Spider-Man took the opportunity to quietly open the skylight of the bus and jumped out onto the roof. The drone was positioning for another attack, but Spider-Man used two strands of spider silk to seal the launch ports. The drone could not fire, and with its weapons blocked, it malfunctioned and imploded before crashing onto the road below.]
[When everyone turned around from looking for the non-existent goats, Spider-Man had already landed back inside the car through the skylight, and no one noticed that he had just jumped out.]
[Teacher Dell looked regretful and said disappointedly, "I didn't see any wild goats!"]
[Spider-Man's hair was messy from the wind, and he gasped while trying to appear casual, "It's already gone!"]
[Betty suddenly said with a knowing look: "You may think no one noticed, Peter..."]
[Ned, who was sitting next to her, suddenly looked nervous. He didn't dare to turn his head to look at Betty, but glanced at her sideways, concentrating his attention on her words.]
[Spider-Man also opened his eyes wide in panic, "What?"]
["I like your new look! Right, baby?" Betty said, referring to his disheveled hair.]
[After hearing Betty's innocent words, both Ned and Spider-Man couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. They both had thought Spider-Man's secret identity had been exposed.]
[Ned immediately followed her lead and said supportively: "Yeah! It shows a mature and elegant European temperament!"]
[Spider-Man slumped down in his chair and took a deep breath, "Oh! Man! Let's start over!"]
[Meanwhile, Brad was looking through his phone with a puzzled expression: "Uh... this is weird! The photo was in my phone just now! I..."]
[Brad looked through his phone album with a confused look on his face, unable to figure out what had happened to the compromising photo he had taken.]
[MJ looked at him and said dryly, "Yeah! How weird!" Then she noticed Spider-Man wearing the high-tech glasses and secretly observing the situation.]
[Flash finally woke up from his unconscious state, opened his mouth, felt his face throbbing with pain, and couldn't help but let out an "Ow!"]
"Oh! My God! Tony! You actually gave such a dangerous thing to Peter without setting up an instruction manual first?"
Pepper, who had just come upstairs to the workshop, saw this chaotic scene playing out on the mysterious screen and couldn't help but scold Tony angrily.
"Uh..." Tony was genuinely confused and taken aback. He hadn't expected things to turn out like this. E.D.I.T.H. had almost killed an innocent civilian by mistake due to a simple miscommunication.
"I'll add a double-confirmation procedure! And make a comprehensive instruction manual... Wait, anyway, why am I even doing this? I'm not dead yet! I don't need Peter to take over these responsibilities!"
Tony was almost caught up in Pepper's concerns, but then he realized the context of why this scenario was happening. It must be because in this timeline, he had died too suddenly on the battlefield without properly explaining anything to Peter or preparing him adequately.
This led to the 3rd generation Spider-Man being forced to take over his technological legacy, and even E.D.I.T.H., the artificial intelligence that controlled the augmented reality security and defense system, had to be handed over to him through Nick Fury without proper preparation.
And through E.D.I.T.H.'s brief self-introduction in the footage, Tony could tell that her complexity was far beyond that of Karen, the artificial intelligence that he had previously integrated into Spider-Man's suit shown earlier on the screen.
It had taken Spider-Man considerable time to get comfortable with Karen's capabilities, let alone E.D.I.T.H.! That was an incredibly sophisticated and powerful system. If Tony's assessment was correct, Peter would definitely have to follow the same learning curve that Tony himself had experienced when developing his technology.
After all, that future version was still him, and many of his design philosophies and ideas would be exactly the same! Even the naming conventions for the artificial intelligences followed his pattern!
[The bus continued driving from day into night and finally arrived in Prague, Czech Republic.]
[A grand carnival celebration was taking place throughout the city, with the streets filled with cheering crowds, colorful decorations, and festive lights illuminating the historic architecture.]
[Dimitri carefully drove the tour bus to the entrance of their hotel. The students were immediately amazed by the magnificent and luxurious hotel before them. The lobby was spacious and elegant, with marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and even a pianist playing beautiful classical music on a grand piano.]
[This was in stark contrast to the shabby, cramped little hotel they had stayed at in Venice.]
["Whoa! Look at this place! It's so grand!" one student exclaimed in awe.]
["This place is so elegant!" another added, taking in the opulent surroundings.]
["Yeah! Did we go to the wrong place?" A student couldn't believe that their budget travel agency had actually arranged such a high-end accommodation for them.]
[Flash strutted forward confidently and declared, "You might be in the wrong place! But I'm definitely home!" clearly feeling that this luxury suited his ego perfectly.]
[Teacher Harrington walked at the back of the group with a satisfied smile and announced: "See! Sometimes good things come to those who complain! Students, go back to your rooms and get some rest! Because tonight, we have something special in store! The Prague Annual Light Carnival will be held, and we'll all be attending!"]
