Chapter 144: Chapter 144: The Girl Who Fell from the Sky
"You'll find out how amazing you are in the future. Just don't slack on your training. Keep at it—you're a star in the making," Han Yu said with a smile.
"Well, now that the sparring is over, it's already noon. Let's go eat," Charles said, glancing at his watch.
"Great, let's eat!" Saitama's eyes lit up at the mention of food. At home, he usually survived on supermarket sale items. Surely, the meals here wouldn't be like that, right?
The group boarded the elevator. As soon as they stepped out, both Han Yu and Saitama froze in place simultaneously. The two exchanged a glance, and Saitama asked, "Are you expecting another friend?"
"No, I'm not. I have no idea who it could be," Han Yu replied, his brows furrowed in confusion.
"What are you two talking about?" Erik asked, noticing their sudden pause. The others also looked over, puzzled by their exchange.
"We have a... 'visitor.' Let's check it out," Han Yu said before his body blurred into a faint shadow and vanished from sight. Saitama followed closely behind.
In the Mutant School's courtyard, Han Yu and Saitama arrived one after the other. Looking up, they saw a streak of fire plummeting from the sky at incredible speed.
"What is that? A missile?" Saitama asked.
Han Yu's expression turned serious as he shook his head. "Doesn't seem like it. It looks more like... a living being. We need to slow it down before it damages the grounds!"
As he spoke, Han Yu's Green Lantern ring surged with energy. With a sweeping motion of his hands, countless beams of green light formed six large, hexagonal, turtle-shell-like shields in midair.
The shields were connected by glowing green crystalline lines, forming a massive protective barrier.
As soon as the shield was in place, the "meteor" slammed into it with overwhelming force, shattering the entire structure into pieces. Han Yu hadn't anticipated such a powerful impact. By the time he reacted, the "meteor" had already struck the nearby grass, creating a massive crater and kicking up a thick cloud of dust.
Exchanging a glance, Han Yu and Saitama quickly rushed toward the scene. Saitama waved his hand, generating a gust of wind that cleared most of the dust in the crater.
What they saw left them both stunned.
"Is that... a dragon?"
Lying before them was a massive creature—a dragon. Its body was covered in dark green scales, and it stretched over a hundred meters long. The dragon's appearance resembled the depictions of Western dragons from Earth's myths and legends.
For Han Yu, this was his first time seeing a real dragon. It was far more awe-inspiring than anything he'd ever seen in movies or TV shows. Even Saitama looked amazed.
"A dragon just fell from the sky... That's incredible. This is my first time seeing one," Saitama said.
"Same here. It's massive... but it looks like it's dying," Han Yu remarked.
The dragon's eyes were half-closed, its body motionless, as if it were on the brink of death.
Suddenly, a voice rang out from the crater.
"Hey, who are you guys? Are you here to steal my food?"
As the two were discussing the dragon, a crisp and ethereal voice echoed from the pit, sending shivers down their spines. Both instantly adopted combat stances. Hearing a human voice suddenly emanating from the dragon's crater was unnerving, to say the least.
Han Yu's hand gripped his Hyorinmaru sword, which was now shrouded in a frosty mist. The blade was further reinforced by the energy of his Green Lantern ring, making it even sharper and more durable.
Saitama, on the other hand, raised his fists in a seemingly unremarkable stance. However, his face bore an expression of utter seriousness—this was his "Serious Series" fighting posture.
Typically, Saitama's casual punches were enough to obliterate most foes. If he used his "Serious Series," defeating him became virtually impossible. Yet, whether this would hold true in the Marvel universe was another question.
From the crater emerged a young girl. If she hadn't stepped out on her own, Han Yu and Saitama might not have even noticed her presence. Compared to the massive dragon, the girl seemed impossibly petite—barely larger than one of the dragon's claws.
Han Yu couldn't help but stare at the girl's appearance and attire.
Noticing Han Yu's silence, Saitama turned to the girl and asked, "What do you mean, 'food'? Is this giant dragon your meal?"
The girl appeared to be around seventeen or eighteen years old. She was about 170 cm tall, with long, slender legs that immediately caught the eye. She wore a rounded, high-top purple hat with two folded horns protruding from its sides.
Her outfit was primarily purple, and her cheeks were covered by a thin, mask-like film. Her large, lively eyes blinked curiously at Han Yu and Saitama.
The girl, dressed in purple, blinked and said, "That's right. I've been chasing this big guy for ages! It sure knows how to run. Look at all those muscles—it's bound to be delicious."
She stepped up to the edge of the crater and opened her small, rosy mouth. To Han Yu and Saitama's astonishment, the massive dragon—larger than a small mountain—transformed into a streak of light and flowed into her mouth.
The entire process lasted thirty seconds. When it was over, the dragon was completely gone. The girl patted her flat, unblemished stomach, looking entirely satisfied. Her stomach showed no trace of having consumed a creature of such monstrous size.
"Hey, snap out of it! You've been spacing out forever," Saitama muttered, giving Han Yu a light poke.
Han Yu finally snapped out of his daze. His astonishment wasn't solely due to the girl's appearance or demeanor—it was also because of the dragon and the girl's distinctive attire.
Han Yu recognized the dragon. It was called the "Extraordinary Dragon," an alien creature. In Han Yu's memory, this dragon was supposed to appear in the Marvel universe, summoned and modified by a villain known as the "Mandarin," eventually transforming into a cybernetic dragon with devastating destructive power.
In Saitama's world, it would easily rank as a Dragon-level threat at minimum.
Yet now, it had been casually devoured by a single girl. Anyone witnessing this scene would find it utterly incomprehensible.
Han Yu, however, wasn't entirely surprised. He also recognized the girl's identity, thanks to her highly distinctive outfit.
Particularly her purple hat with two folded horns—it immediately brought a name to Han Yu's mind: Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds!
Galactus, one of the five primordial cosmic entities, survived by consuming planets. His real name was Galan, but most referred to him simply as "Galactus."
In Han Yu's memories from his past life, Galactus was frequently the subject of jokes among fans online. Dubbed the "ultimate combat power benchmark," he was notoriously defeated repeatedly in the comics. Fans would joke, "Oh no, Uncle Galactus has died... again!"
