Marvel 1919 : Rise of an Empire

Chapter 149: The Technology Fortress

Far from Earth, across countless light years, Lange busied himself with his grotesque collection.

Lange had acquired these trophies from various planets during his travels across the galaxy. Although some had lost their lives, they now served as nothing more than playthings Lange used to pass the time.

At that moment, a spatial fluctuation rippled through the room. Lange, who was remotely controlling a robot to dissect one of his toys, became instantly excited.

"They're here, they're here! I thought I'd have to wait much longer, but someone activated the teleportation device already!" Lange exclaimed, waving his slimy tentacles in excitement.

In deep space, a massive Technology Fortress began to disintegrate into modular metal components. A swirling, circular vortex sucked them toward its center.

"Ha ah! It's starting. Earth, I'm coming! Quickly, get me inside, you idiot!" Lange commanded the robot.

On the far side of the Moon, an enormous vortex formed, accumulating more and more energy until an explosive impact radiated from its core. As the energy vortex collapsed, a glowing blue crack appeared in the very fabric of space.

After obtaining the first component, George swiftly gathered the other two parts of the Space Time Teleporter.

He had already visited this world primarily to retrieve its technological archives, which he intended to implement back on Earth, the Naruto world, and most importantly, on the massive Ancient Star, where he needed to build everything from scratch. That purpose had been previously explained and didn't need to be repeated.

To avoid unnecessary attention, George chose the far side of the Moon to assemble and activate the Space Time Teleporter.

Blue electric arcs pulsed along its surface until an invisible energy column launched skyward, stabilizing the massive vortex above.

George calmly watched as metal components of various shapes and sizes emerged from the rift and began docking mid air. Piece by piece, the War Technology Fortress came together, its rough structure rapidly forming, with the vital base already in place.

In the blink of an eye, a towering robot landed on the fortress's base platform. From its abdomen emerged a brain like, slimy creature with tentacles twitching with anticipation.

"Commander Lange!" a voice called.

George appeared, stepping onto the platform. With the core systems online, normal speech was now possible inside the fortress.

"You opened the space gate, didn't you? Not bad. Your psychic strength is impressive," Lange said with reluctant admiration.

Though also a scientist, Lange possessed decent psychic powers. In the original lore, he could easily peer into Shredder's mind. But now, standing before George, whose mind was fortified beyond comprehension, Lange found himself locked out, unable to read a single thought.

George found it amusing that Lange spoke English. He figured Lange had long monitored Earth's coordinates and familiarized himself with the culture. After all, George already knew from the TMNT series that Lange had some grasp of Earth's language and norms.

Looking at Lange now, George thought Michelangelo's comparison to chewed up gum was spot on.

Multiple theories existed about Lange's origin, but one constant remained: he was always a villain. That part never changed.

"If it weren't for you, would this War Machine even be assembled?" George asked with feigned curiosity.

"Of course! This is the culmination of all my scientific brilliance. Shame I don't have time to walk you through its magnificence, otherwise, you'd be awestruck," Lange boasted.

Even as Lange spoke, George had already detected the trap. The floor beneath him had begun to shift.

Moments later, white coolant burst from hidden vents, capable of freezing organic matter solid in seconds.

But as the mist faded, Lange didn't see a frozen George.

"Huh?"

"Looking for me?" George's voice came from behind the robot.

Lange reacted fast. The robot twisted at the waist, swinging its massive arms like twin hammers toward George.

George stepped back, dodging the strikes with ease. The robot matched him step for step, recalibrating.

A white circular arc lit up on the robot's chest.

"Be careful, Earthling. The game has begun!" Lange cackled.

With a metallic snap, a half meter long launcher deployed from the glowing arc. This adaptive function allowed the robot to replace damaged parts and keep fighting.

"Biu! Biu!"

Two energy blasts shot toward George, but his barrier absorbed them without a scratch.

"Alright. If that's all you've got, the test ends here," George said flatly.

The fortress was fully assembled now. No point existed in prolonging the show.

As George spoke, Lange's expression began to dull. The mental grip took hold quickly.

With no audience around, George didn't even bother snapping his fingers.

When the last piece of the War Technology Fortress locked into place, it stood before George in full glory.

The colossal structure, nearly the size of a small town, radiated technological prowess. Its presence was overwhelming.

George waved his hand and stored the entire fortress within the Chaos Space, a contented smile crossing his face.

As for Lange, George removed him from existence with no ceremony.

George returned to New York just in time to catch the scene of the four little turtles fighting Shredder.

The two sides battled fiercely on the rooftop of the Saxx Industries building. Since George had taken Shredder's metal armor, he now wore only leather armor.

In terms of equipment, the sides were more evenly matched, making the fight more dynamic and engaging than the original one sided encounter.

However, even with balanced gear, two fists are no match for eight hands. The four little turtles eventually subdued Shredder.

As the turtles threw jabs and witty remarks at their defeated enemy, George activated the Speed Force, quickly drawing a tube of blood from each of their bodies without them even noticing.

"Hey, guys, did the medicine wear off? Why do I feel that weakness from being bled again?"

"Indeed, me too."

"Looks like we need a super sized pizza to replenish our nutrition."

"..."

George chuckled slightly, glanced at the four Ninja Turtles sitting on Shredder, then turned and quietly exited this World.

A month later, George stood in the castle's laboratory, examining a sleek bracelet in his hand.

As George touched the surface of the bracelet, a communication interface projected into the air. He closed the projection and tapped another spot, opening a vortex above him. In a flash of light, George appeared on the platform of the War Technology Fortress.

George had developed this bracelet for future use by his subordinates to allow rapid and covert deployment across planets.

The War Technology Fortress loomed vast and ready, docked next to the Avenger Goddess space station.

"Wiki, how is the construction of the large teleportation device coming along?" George asked the air.

As he spoke, a laser projection rose from the ground, displaying a refined woman in a butler's uniform.

"Master, the device will be complete in half a year. But if you're planning to teleport an entire fast attack ship, it will require a one week energy recharge interval after each use," Wiki reported.

"So it can only teleport one battleship weekly?"

"Correct, unless you choose to construct multiple units simultaneously."

"That won't be necessary for now. Personnel transport will suffice," George replied.

The ship's existing teleportation tech worked for small teams, but mass scale movement was impractical.

So, George had tasked Wiki with reverse engineering the entire fortress's tech. When even she struggled, George personally stepped in, activating Time Reversal to unravel each system with ease.

A freezing chamber also existed onboard, once Lange's toy warehouse. George neutralized all alien creatures it held, not out of hatred, but pragmatic necessity. He wasn't interested in sorting good from bad, especially not here.

Instead of risking alien chaos in the Marvel Universe or on Earth, George planned to assess each case individually and return most aliens to their worlds where they could be responsibly dealt with.

"If I can't even trust my kind, how could I place blind trust in another?" His stance wasn't rooted in supremacy or xenophobia. It was caution sharpened by experience and common sense.

This wasn't hatred, just calculated caution. One unchecked entity could unleash chaos. While some might call it paranoia, George saw it as prudence.

In a multiverse already teetering under fragile order, he couldn't afford reckless idealism. Selective integration would follow. Only those species whose nature and capabilities aligned with his future goals would be considered.

Back on Earth, George handed the turtle blood and mutation potion to Dr. Erskine for long term study. While such enhancements no longer affected George, further breakthroughs could benefit others.

Compared to Earth, the Ancient Star remained a barren frontier. With time now at 1966, George's life had slowed. He trained, meditated, and took time to enjoy life. Alice had been engrossed in magic studies, and now Yui joined her too, diving into the same arcane arts. Their shared enthusiasm brought life to Hogwarts Island, where they often studied and tested spells side by side, offering each other tips and challenges. George sometimes watched them practice, amused by their progress.

Every year, George adapted and produced one film, not out of duty, but sheer joy. The act kept him grounded.

But even peace grows dull for a mind like George's.

One morning, he retrieved a retractable spear forged from cosmic alloys, signaling the end of his leisure.

With abundant energy reserves, he used one energy unit each week to explore unknown stars' dimensions and assessed their worth via collected items. If useful, he explored further. If not, he moved on.

Today, he received equipment from the Predator dimension. Not his ideal find, but still of value.

Dimension: Predator (2018)

The setting? Modern Earth.

Earlier, George had chosen this world deliberately, primarily for its rich tech arsenal. He planned to incorporate any beneficial technology back into the Marvel Earth, the Naruto World, and most importantly, the massive, undeveloped Ancient Star, where he would need to rebuild infrastructure from scratch. The gains here would serve many futures.

A spaceship crashes on Earth, and sniper Quinn McKenna, who is on a military mission, happens to encounter aliens and engages in a fierce battle.

He narrowly escapes, picks up the alien's equipment, and mails it home for future use.

Legend has it that these aliens, known as Predators, have visited Earth multiple times, using various cruel methods to hunt humans.

This time, Quinn's son Rory accidentally triggers a mechanism after receiving the package, attracting an even more powerful Ultimate Predator to Earth.

However, a group of troubled soldiers and a biologist, Casey Bracket, want to stop him from massacring.

The situation is far from simple. A deadly three way hunt begins between the Predator, Ultimate Predator, and humans.

George knew that this dimension also had different branches, just like different timelines. Before entering, George didn't know which timeline he was about to enter. After a brief explanation to Alice with Yui pinching his ear and scolding about always being out of the home again, George left Earth and returned to Ancient Star.

Alice was already accustomed to George often disappearing for periods. He arrived at Ancient Star and began to prepare the supplies for this Crossing. To face all foreseeable situations, the supplies had to be ample.

First, he carried a thousand Raiders mechas and prepared ample ammunition. Then, the artificial intelligence Star Network, and afterward, George went to the Avenger Goddess space station to collect a fast attack ship.

After reviewing the plot in his mind again, George began to prepare for this Crossing. A bright light flashed, and George disappeared from the space station.

Predator Dimension, United States, New York

George had already spent three tense days here, and the plot was set to unfold shortly before Halloween. However, it was still a long way until October 30th.

He instructed Star Network to hack into the global network to search for any meteor shower incidents, but found none. However, classified data from a U.S. department revealed some findings about Predator activity.

Records of Predator encounters existed in 1987 and 1997, and based on official assessments, the frequency of visits had been increasing.

The Predator is an alien species with far superior physical strength to humans. Their facial features are grotesque, and they wield an array of advanced hunting weapons.

They are infamous for skinning their prey and crafting trophies from their skulls. These actions, while brutal, reflect their deeply held values.

Despite originating in caves and evolving through the Bronze Age, the Predators have held onto their primal values, carrying them even as they developed spacefaring technology.

They have the same appetite for bloodshed as beasts, but with a ritualistic and honorable approach.

Their society resembles an imperial structure, with a rigid honor system. Killing is considered sacred, and they do not harm pregnant prey or unarmed opponents. Killing one's own kind is a disgrace.

They are masters of technology: equipped with infrared vision, stealth cloaks, and multi angle tracking capabilities. However, exposure to water disrupts their cloaking.

Multiple tribes exist among the Predators, each with its traits, and stories in this dimension often revolve around these different groups.

Still, for George, the Predator race was not the ultimate target. Despite their advanced tech, he had come here to retrieve the Universe Star Map from one of their ships. A crucial step for something much larger.

This mission was just the beginning.
