Martial Arts Worlds

Chapter 467: God City

The flying ship with a giant pigeon head at the front docked at the God Island's port and dropped the gangplank down.

A few heads popped up from the ship's deck—curious-looking pirates, staring at God Island with looks of greed.

"God Island…"

"Shame that we aren't allowed to take a peek inside. This forest is all we can stare at. It's unfair!"

The pirates growled at each other.

"The rewards buried within this island must be enormous. After all, the Martial Gods of the past used to live here… Who knows what they left behind."

"Captain, can't we take a look?"

The captain of the ship walked over, stopped by the gangplank, and looked down at the port.

"No… we don't want to anger the twins. We might not even get paid for our troubles if we do anything stupid."

He said.

With sighs of annoyance, the pirates returned back to whatever they were doing—drinking, fucking, and gambling.

"Am I allowed to leave?"

Seo Donghae asked.

"Once we've been paid, sure."

The captain of the ship said.

"And if you don't get paid?"

Seo Donghae asked with a frown.

"We'll take you back to Lagitech. And you can find your own way back home from there."

The captain said with a cold look and glanced at Seo Donghae's annoyed gaze for a moment and felt a slight shudder at his spine.

If it were anyone else from a weak country, he might just sell them into slavery to get some payment at least.

However, he didn't dare to do that with representatives of tier 1 countries—no one would dare to buy them, and if someone was foolish enough to do that, their government would find them.

Once they do, he would have to hide for the rest of his life, and Seo Donghae would just keep getting stronger.

And he would find him and kill him.

At that moment, Shawn and Short walked down the port's long dock and then walked up the gangplank to the deck of the ship.

"The payment?"

The captain asked and didn't bother to have a slow conversation—it was obvious what he wanted, and he wanted to be blunt about it.

"Here."

Short tossed him a pouch of gold coins—not just any normal gold coins, but emperor gold coins, the most valuable ones.

One emperor gold coin was already as valuable as ten thousand gold coins, and he received a whole pouch of them!

"Appreciate it."

The captain said, and stepped aside to let Seo Donghae leave the ship.

"Seo Donghae, I assume?"

Shawn said and extended his hand for a handshake.

"Yes."

Seo Donghae shook the hands and looked at the pair of twins—they were legendary in the field of martial arts.

'Because God Island is registered as its own country—it has been awarded the rank of tier zero country, a rare feat.

'Since it is a country, it can also send its own representative for the Junior Martial Arts Championship—Shawn and Short were the first dual representatives for a country.

'It was only allowed because they were part of a tier zero country. They also happened to tie for first place in the championship.'

Seo Donghae thought to himself.

With that, they left the ship and hopped onto the seat of a horse-drawn carriage. It had an open roof and everything.

At that moment, they watched the ship leave the port and disappear into the horizon.

"You're the first one to arrive. However, the rest will arrive shortly—about three hundred of them."

Shawn said.

"Isn't it slow to pick up every representative individually? I was the only one on board that ship. Couldn't there have been multiple?"

Seo Donghae asked.

"We've a few dozen flying ships bringing the representatives. The further ones are picked up first, and then the closer ones. Those flying ships move quickly, so we should be able to pick up everyone in a timely manner."

Short said, and then yanked the reins of the horse, heading out into the forest path that led somewhere.

Gallop! Gallop! Gallop!

Kicking the dirt up, the horses pulled the carriage deeper into the woods—going up the hill and then down the other side—it sped up until they reached the clearing at the bottom.

And shortly after, the horses galloped out of the forest and came to a stop at the glass-smooth gray wall of the God City.

Its walls were so tall that they couldn't see the top of it.

Shawn hopped off the carriage, walked to the gate, and knocked once—the echo of it lingering in the air as the gates slowly creaked open.

The gates swung open, and a view of the bustling streets beyond came into view—made out of a white marble material that gleamed in the sunlight.

It was a beautiful sight—as if they were entering a city of gods.

Shawn hopped back to the seat of the carriage, and Short led them through the gate—they were met with gazes.

Gazes of curious-looking citizens and children waved over to Seo Donghae—this was the only time in a year that they were able to see people from the outside world.

"Hey…"

A quiet voice said from next to the carriage, and a girl of porcelain-delicate skin peeked her head out, offering a beautiful flower to Seo.

"That's Flower of Dawn… It only blooms during this time of year."

Shawn said.

Seo accepted the flower from the little girl, looked at the flower's purple petals, and inhaled its scent.

It worked wonders as he felt his martial soul respond with a gleeful spark.

'No wonder the people of God Island are all powerhouses—living here, breathing this air, already improves their martial souls.

'A normal passerby here might already be of Martial Grandmaster rank.'

Seo thought as he looked around and checked out of curiosity the people's martial realms that passed him and the carriage.

'Grandmaster... King… King… Master… Grandmaster… Not awakened yet… Grandmaster…'

Seo wryly smiled as he was nobody here—even though he had already reached the peak of Martial Grandmaster at such a young age.
