Chapter 58: Raven? LoL~
A week later, the materials needed for the next chapter of the Elysian Realm storyline were ready, and the story began to progress.
After Raiden Mei left to investigate Otto's movements in the outside world, Raven was left with nothing to do, idly taking in the scenery around her.
Perhaps… she could revisit those scenes from the past?
For some reason, a similar thought began to rise within her heart.
Regarding the baptism of the MANTIS warriors, she happened to have the leisure to revisit it now. With Klein's assistance, she could also give Gray Serpent an explanation. Not stopping Raiden Mei was partly her responsibility, after all.
It's killing several birds with one stone!
After entering the Elysian Realm, the first person she saw was the elegant Flame-Chaser with long pink hair reaching her waist. The other party was smiling warmly, her blue eyes shimmering with admiration.
"Oh my, this should be our first meeting, right? But it seems... you already know me well? Let me guess, did you secretly ask Mei about me?"
"Hmm, I understand. After all, I've been keeping an eye on you too, Natasha."
"...I'm honored. I thought you weren't interested in me."
The sense of danger in Raven's heart faded quickly, leaving her no choice but to respond helplessly. The other party's words... were acceptable, at least they didn't seem dangerous.
But there was one thing Raven couldn't figure out.
The last time she was here, she encountered four... no, five Flame-Chasers.
Yet, whether it was Mei or her now, the first person they saw upon entering the Elysian Realm was always this one... Was there some particular reason for this?
Curious, she asked the other party.
Elysia's face flashed with a hint of embarrassment. She scratched her cheek with her hand, her gaze inadvertently shifting elsewhere.
"Oh, you care so much about this? It's just a little misunderstanding, really, just a tiny one..."
"A misunderstanding about the hat?"
Raven raised her gaze slightly, teasingly. She had heard about this incident from Miss Mei herself.
She just didn't expect...
The second-ranked Flame-Chaser in the legends was indeed this kind of personality.
How interesting.
"You see, once the misunderstanding was cleared up, didn't I show up before you immediately? I'm doing my best to make up for my little mistake!"
Elysia defended herself with all sincerity, she really hadn't done it on purpose!
Back then, how could she have accidentally overlooked the other party? Such a shame.
Alas, seeing the current situation, the other party didn't seem willing to get close to her. Though, was it really the same person back then?
Looking at Raven's bright red eyes, her exquisite face, the black cloak reminiscent of wings, and the little cowlick on her head that added the perfect finishing touch—
Elysia was delighted to see her.
"..." Raven sighed, scanning her.
This person had unfathomable strength and no malicious intent. It wouldn't do to hold a grudge and stir up trouble for herself.
"Thank you. I knew... you're just as understanding as Mei. We're bound to become good friends."
Elysia patted her chest in relief and smiled generously.
Then, without hesitation, she handed her sigil to Raven. This was how they officially met, wasn't it?
"Well? Isn't a maiden's sincerity sweet? Doesn't it feel like a new beginning?"
"Such a memorable first meeting... Let's treat this blessing as the start of a deep relationship between us."
After gazing at Raven for a few seconds, Elysia disappeared into the Elysian Realm.
Raven, meanwhile, felt she had resolved a point she had always teased Mei about. Either way, gaining another Flame-Chaser's approval was undoubtedly a good thing.
This encounter wasn't long. Following Klein's guidance and the task of fixing abnormalities in the Elysian Realm, Raven continued exploring deeper within.
Soon enough, she realized the number of Flame-Chasers she encountered this time far exceeded those from her last trial.

Golden Courtyard
"So... you're quite interested in this Raven, aren't you, Elysia?"
Mobius glanced at the screen casually while filing her nails.
Was this shade of green, forest green—not good?
Such thoughts randomly crossed her mind.
After all, these days, she wasn't too tense. Someone else was busy handling tasks, and the one responsible for making a detector to locate the Herrscher of Dominance was none other than the self-proclaimed "builder of everything," Vil-V. But judging by the current progress... heh, it might fall short.
Shaking her head, Mobius dismissed the thought.
Compared to worrying about the Herrscher of Binding, the Herrscher of Dominance seemed to hold little significance under a unified and orderly leadership. It couldn't affect the bigger picture.
"Mhm~ Of course. There's something fascinating about her contradiction. Let me think... it was probably the moment I saw her watching the sunset over the ocean that it struck me."
"The cold mercenary killer suddenly turned into an explosive island raven. Don't you find that intriguing?"
Elysia didn't hide her interest in Raven, twisting a few strands of her hair. Her hair was as soft and smooth as ever. Thankfully, last night's late work hadn't ruined it.
Sigh, why was it that Mobius's hair remained smooth even after countless all-nighters?
What a strange little detail.
"...What interests me is that she's one of the few test subjects who escaped my operating table. That vigilance and sense of danger, it should let her live quite a while longer."
Mobius replied coldly, raising her coffee cup for a sip, her mind returning to clarity.
"Mobius..."
"Speak."
"Don't you want to make yourself a white coat that fits better? This one looks too big and loose."
"..."
Mobius gave her a sidelong glance, picked up her cup again, and sipped without responding.
"Ahhh—this is impossible, impossible! Mobius, my dear snake, please help me!"
Vill-V collapsed onto a nearby chair, her eyes dull and lifeless as if she had been overworked.
Damn it... why did she make such bold claims back then?
Moreover, the project was started by that wicked guy; why was she the one stuck finishing it?!
"Heh, good luck. Kevin said it's useless, Schicksal made no progress, and you've got plenty to do. Don't bother me."
Mobius sneered, unsympathetic.
What did this have to do with her? She was just a biologist. If Vill-V had the guts, she should turn those dolls into biological species first, not boast about her capabilities.
What a joke.

Theresa's Villa
"Seriously, this Natasha is so pitiful. First, her island villa got blown up, and now she can't get past this running gag. She can't even win against anyone..."
Bronie smirked mercilessly, making a sarcastic remark.
As for the real person? They couldn't hear her anyway, so what was there to fear?
To be honest, the other party's image was pretty accurate, just their strength seemed a bit lacking. At least in the world behind the screen, the other version had some semblance of dignity.
Think about it, wanting to run a quiet tavern as a bartender? Fits. Likes taking care of kids? Well... fits for her too. Associating with Gray Serpent? Okay, definitely fits.
The only difference was in the side stories, where the other version served as a comic relief character. This would definitely make for an interesting topic to discuss with Natasha later.
Bronie's lips curled up, a sign that she was in a good mood.
"Raven, huh? I still vividly remember that morning when she said... she wanted to take on extra jobs to save up and rebuild a villa, on the island."
"And so, I asked her, 'Raven, Raven, when will you ever earn enough by working odd jobs to buy a villa?'"
"She glanced at me and said, 'I can't do it alone, but I've got the kids I adopted. With generations of effort, endlessly...'"
Luo Mo recounted the story with a somber expression, eyes closed as if recalling the distant past.
"...That's such a cold joke. What kind of mythology rewrite is this?"
Bronie shivered slightly, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Agreed," Delta nodded faintly and tightened her collar, also feeling a chill from the "joke."
"How is that a joke? Do you think I'm the kind of person who'd make one like that?"
Luo Mo retorted indignantly. He just wanted to recruit an employee. It wasn't as if he had any altruistic "Raven's foster-mother" spirit.
That much expense, could you really bear to make Raven work so hard, just to lose another villa? Could you?
"And what's this about?"
Luna blinked from the side, turning her gaze toward the humans, completely confused.
"This... is Bronie's future life! Natasha has entrusted you with the sacred duty of buying villas. Why are you wasting time playing games? Go get a job already and become a hard-working girl!"
"...No, I refuse."
Bronies expression turned cold, and she averted her gaze, adamantly showing her refusal to work.
What hard-working girl? How embarrassing!
Why did this feel like they were just coaxing a child? And yet... they were strangely experienced in it, constantly trying to fool others.
"Then... where's your gaming budget coming from? Don't tell me you're stealing money from the internet..."
"A hacker stealing? How could you call it stealing? I, Bronie, have legitimate sources for all my funds!"
Bronie's face flushed as she defended herself, unwilling to agree with Luo Mo's view.
At most, she had discovered a few software vulnerabilities and, accidentally, funds had transferred from other accounts to hers. After a dozen or so rounds, she somehow had more money in her account. Clearly, it was a gift from the universe!
Seeing her struggle due to a lack of funds to beat opponents in games was unbearable.
"Hurry and join me in making games, and let's save the world together with Theresa!"
"If saving the world requires working, then this world might as well end now."
Bronie pouted and quipped dismissively.
"Eh... wait, why am I suddenly involved?"
Theresa, who had been watching the plot unfold, turned her head in confusion, her eyes wide with both surprise and bewilderment.
"Because you're the leader of St. Freya Academy!"
Luo Mo offered a perfectly crafted explanation, which satisfied Theresa as she returned her focus to the screen.
"And the truth?"
Bronie poked Luo Mo's waist, speaking softly to avoid Theresa's attention. Delta also turned her head back, curious.
"Meow—meow—"
Luo Mo pointed at the screen showing Raven's encounter with a certain stray cat and smiled silently. If one listened carefully, the voice oddly resembled someone familiar.
Of course, this was something Luo Mo had accidentally discovered and secretly recorded at great risk. Who would've thought Lady Theresa occasionally had this side to her when lazing in bed?
At first, Bronie didn't get it, but after glancing at Theresa and hearing the third "meow," she finally realized who it was.
"Pfft—"
She burst into laughter, making no effort to stay quiet, which led Luo Mo to grumble.
"What if someone figures out the mysterious voice actor? Geez!"
Delta also chuckled softly before quickly pressing her lips together.
Even Kongming, with her fan covering her face, couldn't stop the subtle trembling of her fan, clearly amused as well.
"Uh? Sure, it's a bit odd that Raven talked so much to a cat, but you don't need to laugh this hard."
"I think the cat is quite cute, though. Isn't it the one from the courtyard? So adorable; I kind of want one too!"
Theresa's eyes sparkled as she stared at the plump cat on screen, oblivious to the laughter around her.
"Hey, hey—are you serious about what you just said?"
Bronie asked quietly for confirmation.
"Can't you tell for yourself? Don't ask me; I know nothing," Luo Mo replied, clearly unwilling to admit anything.
wouldn't that doom him?

(TL/N: this is something that the Author didn't mention or explain, but... Luo Mo will use AI as voice actors replies, only if the VA doesn't want to, or during un important chapter. For example, Mobius who doesn't want to waste time, unless Elysia convinces her. Another time Luo Mo will use the AI is during spoilers, when he doesn't want the VA to know what will happen to their character, or when he want to prank them, like when he VA Can (the cat) and Theresa (in Ring Project)
