Chapter 171: Slick Moves (Long Chapter)_3
The atmosphere had reached a peak of tension.
A hand reached out from the coffin, a pale hand with elongated nails that looked blood-red.
The boy leaned against the door, pounding on it forcefully, his gaze fixed on the coffin with tension.
Slowly, a person sat up in the coffin, their complexion deathly pale with not a hint of color and devoid of any human emotion.
He slowly opened his mouth, revealing two sharp fangs.
"Ah!" the boy yelped, completely terrified.
"Creak..."
At that moment, the door in front of him opened, and the boy scrambled through it.
He had survived the ordeal.
A moment later.
A sound came from the coffin.
The person sitting in it yawned, "Boring."
Up close, he didn't seem old at all.
Apart from the fangs and the white makeup on his face, he was just an ordinary Caucasian boy.
"Click..."
The boy took out a walkie-talkie from the coffin.
A man's voice came from the device, "Cavro, that should be the last guest for today. Clean up and get home early. And don't forget to do your homework."
The boy replied indifferently, "Got it, dad."
Cavro turned off the walkie-talkie and tossed it into the coffin, resting his chin in his hands. Do vampires also need to do homework?
Hearing this, Black exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, my god, I thought the boy who entered the castle alone was you. I didn't expect you to be a vampire."
"That's right.
Since I can remember, I've spent most of my time at Vampire Castle. From playing a vampire boy to a vampire teen, and now a vampire young man."
Black said, "Wow, it must be a family business, right? I'm so envious of those with family businesses. Your family must be rich."
Cavro laughed, "Buddy, you're quite the conversationalist. Do you like vampires too?"
Black chimed in, "Of course. But I prefer female vampires."
Cavro said seriously, "Then I recommend you watch Angela's music video. She's definitely the best female vampire in the world."
Black asked, "How did you meet Angela?"
"Our family's Vampire Castle in Los Angeles is quite famous. Angela's first vampire-themed music video was filmed at our place.
I even played a vampire in her music video. Specifically, a vampire who gets bitten on the neck and has his blood drained by her. Since then, I've fallen for Angela's music.
I feel I've found a soulmate in her music, a resonance. She is my Vampire Queen."
Black exclaimed again, "Wow, that sounds like an amazing fate."
Cavro said, "Even though I know you're fishing for information, I still really want to talk to you. You have a quality that makes people relax."
"Thank you for the compliment. I didn't know I was that outstanding."
Seeing Black interrogate effectively, Luke didn't interject, only occasionally writing a few words in his notebook as a reminder to Black.
Black glanced at the notebook by his side. "Did you attend the release of Angela's new album?"
Cavro responded, "How could I not? Even if a meteor were to strike the Earth tomorrow, I would still go."
"That day, did you have any close interaction with Angela?"
Cavro shook his head, "I don't want to talk about this anymore."
Black said, "Buddy, there's no need to be so tense. It's just a conversation."
Cavro remained silent.
Luke was in no rush. He had encountered many felons who would use various tactics to evade or delay legal sanctions, becoming passively non-responsive during interrogations.
Black tried a few more times, but Cavro still didn't speak.
Just then, the door to the conference room opened.
Jenny walked in, handing Luke a file before whispering a few words to him.
After Jenny left, Luke tapped the file on the table. "Cavro, your bite mark has been identified as a perfect match with the one on Angela's neck.
You killed Angela. And you drank her blood.
You kept saying how much you liked Angela and that she was your Vampire Queen. In my view, it's nothing but lies."
Cavro retorted, "You understand nothing."
Luke said, "OK, then you tell me."
"You're also trying to extract words from me."
Luke picked up the bite mark identification file and approached Cavro. "With this evidence, there's enough to convict you. There's no need to extract any more words from you.
Your refusal to admit that you killed Angela only proves your own guilt."
Cavro still didn't answer.
Luke changed the subject, "Do you believe in vampires?"
Cavro laughed, "When I was five, I asked my dad the same question."
Luke "..."
Cavro continued, "I still remember very clearly, my dad answered confidently.
Yes, son, I believe vampires exist in this world, and so should you."
Luke shifted gears, "Angela didn't believe in vampires, she even hated them.
So, after you discovered her true face,
You killed her in a rage of embarrassment and anger."
Cavro defended himself, "I never thought about killing her, much less biting her to death. I wanted to grant her power, give her the Embrace."
Cavro pulled out a silver pendant from his clothes. "The symbol on this silver pendant represents the ritual of Giving the Embrace.
As long as I consumed Angela's blood, and then she drank mine, she would become my Embrace, inheriting part of my power and gaining immortality."
