Lord of Pain: Becoming the Crime Boss with my Pain Extraction System

Chapter 6: Visit from the Police

"Its the police open up,"

Vincent's heart was caught in his throat, "the police?!"

"Yes, now open the door,"

Vincent didn't move, after what happened last night, he couldn't consider the police as his friend. In fact they were the last people he wanted to run into.

"What do you want?" He asked from inside the house.

"Isn't this the house of Vincent Carlo?"

"Y-yeah, but he is not around at the moment, tell me what you want and I'll tell him when he comes," Vincent replied with a shaky voice.

"I know you are in there, just come and open the door,"

By now Vincent was closer to the door so he could easily recognize the voice of the policemen from last night.

He peeked through the peephole on the door and it was indeed the officers he had met last night.

'It really is them… how did they find me so fast?' he wondered as his heart began to pound.

'No there's no need to be scared, they can't do anything to me in broad daylight,' he reasoned. 'but it's best if I prepared for the worse'

"Mr Vincent open this door right now or we would have to force our way in," The officer commanded.

After a little bit of consideration, Vincent finally unlocked the door.

"What do you want?" He asked.

One of the officers chuckled, "why did you open it you dumbass," he turned back to the other officer, "keep watch outside, I'll take care of this,"

He entered the studio apartment, shutting the door behind him. Vincent took a few cautious steps backwards.

"Tell me, how did you survive my bullet? I was certain that it was fatal but here you stand. someone saved you right?" The police officer wore a very mischievous grin.

Vincent could hardly believe this was supposed to be an officer of the law.

"What the hell do you want from me you bastard murderer," Vincent clenched his fist in anger.

"Are you pissed about your old friend? It's not my fault he had to die. It's just how it is in this world, I'm sure you understand since you yourself are a member of the Yellowsaber gang, you must have done your fair share of killing,"

Vincent was confused, "I'm not part of the Yellowsaber gang,"

"Don't even try to deny it, you already told me you worked for Don Angel and you were delivering those drugs for him and now you want to play dumb. How stupid do you think I am?"

But Vincent maintained his innocence, "I'm serious, I'm not part of the gang. I just run errands sometimes,"

The officer looked like he was starting to believe him, "wait, are you serious? I already confirmed that you have a criminal record,"

"That is true but it was for a totally different matter, it didn't even involve any violence or drugs or anything like that. I normally just help the boss unload drinks at some of his clubs, yesterday was my first time doing something like that, and I already told you I had no idea what was in that bag,"

"Oh, so you were never part of Angel's men. That explains why he sent you to your death. Then you must really have terrible luck," the officer mused.

As the tension in the room eased, Vincent nearly let his guard down.

"But I'm sorry kid, you already witnessed a police officer kill so I can't let you go, don't blame me… blame your eyes,"

Suddenly the tension in the air immediately thickened,

"Y-you don't have to worry about that, I won't tell anybody what I saw, I wasn't even going to tell anybody. Pl-"

"No need to beg me, it's not just me, my boss would literally kill me if I don't make you disappear. You have seen things that you shouldn't have,"

"I can't use my gun because it would be too loud so I'll have to use other means," The officer loosened his belt.

"Yes, this would work. That way I can frame it like you hung yourself, yes that is a good idea," The officer smiled proudly at himself as if giving himself a pat on the back.

Vincent was deeply disturbed by the enthusiasm the officer spoke with. It was almost like this was his main job and being a police officer was a side hustle. He was so corrupt that he felt no remorse in his actions.

'Despicable' he clicked his tongue with disappointment.

At this point Vincent had already accepted that the only way out of this was to fight. He was prepared for this outcome even before he opened the door.

Although the officer was slightly bulkier than him, they had roughly the same build. He didn't have much fighting experience so he had to make it up with smart thinking.

The officer approached with bloodlust in his eyes, "No need to struggle, you would only be making it harder for yourself,"

He charged at Vincent, hardly giving him anytime to react before lifting him up and slamming him into the ground.

His body screamed in agony but it wasn't as hurtful as the sharp pain he felt from the bullet wound. It seemed like it hadn't healed as much as he had thought.

Still he clenched his jaw, swallowing the pain.

Vincent ignored the message and pulled out the knife he had previously hidden and stabbed the officer on his side. He grimaced as the blade pierced his right side, forcing him to let go for a moment.

Using this opportunity Vincent planted a solid kick on the officer's face, pushing him away.

But it didn't keep him down for long. Snarling, the man lunged at Vincent before he could even rise to his feet. Vincent, however, bolted toward the kitchen, just out of reach.

"Come here, you fucker!" the man roared, charging after him.

What he didn't know was that Vincent was counting on it.

In one swift motion, Vincent grabbed a pot of boiling oil—something he'd prepared moments before he let the officer inside—and flung it straight at his pursuer.

A guttural scream tore through the air.

"Ahhh! What the fuck—why did you—my eyes!"

The man collapsed, writhing in agony as the scalding oil ate through his flesh, blistering and peeling skin from bone.

[Excruciating pain extracted +83 points]
