Living in another world as a bystander

Chapter 5: First loot's

Cain carefully put his hand on the water source, ensuring it won't spill as he got to it.

The water was wedged between two sharp rocks. Not wanting to cut himself, Cain spent over a minute just to scoop a mouthful.

Looking around his surroundings, Cain wondered how much time he had left till the first snow of winter came.

Seeing that the grass is still green and not dying, he was relieved knowing that he probably has at least a week or two before it comes.

Till then, he needs to make sure he can find someone in this time and hope that they have great hospitality and are willing to help him out for the winter season.

If not, the grass won't die alone this winter.

Looking at the sky, he wondered what time it was. Since he has been running nonstop till yesterday and only rested now, he thought it would be around early afternoon to late.

Cain sighed for a moment before running again. Stopping and sightseeing was not a good idea right now; he needed to find anything that could help him.

Especially since he had no way of carrying water with him. Right now, the only things he has on him are the things that came along with him back then.

Everything he has right now is useless in carrying water, Wallet? No. Towel? No. Umbrella? Who carries water with an umbrella?

Water is important, which is common sense but right now Cain needed it the most, just by changing his arm into a vine, weaken him so much that he stopped running after the fight against the armored mole.

Water wasn't only to replenish his thirst and energy, it was a needed source for him, so he could use his plant-based abilities. And most of all, clean himself, remember, 17 years of no change, meaning he hadn't bathed all this time.

***

Two hours have passed since then, and Cain continues moving without a stop, only doing so if needed greatly.

At this time, Cain spotted something in the clouds in the sky. Just a moment ago, he spotted a cloud that looked like the letter "L" spouting out something.

It wasn't water or anything like that, but a hard compress object from it, Cain wondered what they were, even having the idea to stop and go back to it and see what it was.

But knowing his situation he didn't do it. He was still in a situation where stopping meant death, and this was not a goal he wanted.

Looking up, he spotted a shade made from the cloud and raised his running pace. Wanting to rest inside the shadows, even if he had his hoodie up and umbrella open, it was still now enough for him to completely avoid the sun.

Sitting down, Cain wondered how big this plain is, and how far the nearest human town and village are.

Yesterday, the time would be between 11 and 1 of the day, when he first left the timeless world, since he had run for an entire day, and stopped only two hours ago, and now.

There should have been changes already, yet nothing came, except for that weird object he saw falling from the cloud, everything was the same scenery.

Taking a deep breath, enjoying the weather, and the climate—BOOM!

A loud explosion sound appeared suddenly in his surroundings, opening his eyes Cain's theories on what it could be that made that explosion.

A human bomb.

A high magic spell.

This place is a minefield.

An asteroid hitting the Earth.

A battle between monsters that can use fire magic.

It didn't matter which one it would be, Cain had decided already to find out what made that noise.

Standing up, he opened the zipper of his jacket and put the towel around his body, acting like a cushion for any blade-type that could stab him to death.

He braced himself to go in that direction.

He opened his umbrella, acting like a shield, and pulled out his pocket knife, ready to attack the enemy he might find.

He was facing west where he originally came from, and heard the explosion to his left.

He took his time walking there, memorizing the ground area. If he needed to run, he knew which road was the most optimal to go to.

...

A couple of minutes later, Cain realized the area was further than he thought, embarrassing himself.

Pulling back his folding umbrella, he started running knowing it was far enough for him to get there.

Seeing a smoke appear in the sky, he smiled, seeing that he was close.

As he approached the explosion area, he found a small hill he needed to go over to find the area.

Going up the tiny hill, he found a crater that seemed to be caused by the explosion.

Looking closer he found something glowing in the middle of it. Moving forward where the light was, Cain prepared himself for a fight.

Each step made his mind stir up all kinds of events that could happen, maybe a monster that could jump at his face when he looked inside the glowing hole.

But it didn't stop him from looking inside, opening his umbrella again ready to sacrifice it for the incoming attacks... If there is.

Cain shook his head, telling himself not to think such a thought, two meters near it, he jumped forward right in the middle of the crater.

There right before his eyes, he spotted what was making the glowing.

It was... A ring.

What made the glowing lights was nothing but a Ring inside the crater. It was a monster or a meteor that made it but a Ring.

Cain sighed in everything. Disappointment, relief, annoyance, and embarrassment. He made the moment so hype, even readied himself to fight a monster beyond the norm, only for a ring to appear.

Picking it up he heard the system voice.

~ You have obtained the Ring of Bubble. [ 1use-day]

~ Ring of bubble- a magic ring that makes an invisible bubble around you that can act as a shield for ONE incoming attack you didn't know was coming.

~ Activation requirements- Give a drop of your blood within the ring gems. Making it a bound item. When the item is bound to the host, it will activate the effect every day at midnight, without the host doing so.

"Damn. That's one long description of an item." Cain said with a smile.

Hearing the system's voice, he had already pulled out his pocket knife and slightly stabbed his finger, letting a drop of blood come.

Letting it drip on the white gem of the ring. As the gem received his blood, it swirled around a bit, then turned into a three colored gem.

Unlike before, where the gem was pure white, it now has a Gold, Red, and White aesthetic, looking at it.

"Huh!? Three colors? Why?" Cain questioned the look of the gem now. He thought for sure it would be only a red or a combination of white and red colors, but how come there are three of them?

~ The Ring has received the host Mana....Error? Another energy has been received by the ring.

~ Processing... processing, The energy has been found. Energy: [ Divine power ]

~ A Divine being's blood has been put into the ring.

~ An update will be put into effect by the ring.

~ Ring of Bubble. 5 Bubbles every 12 hours.

~ Auto Refill on the effects of the ring after 12 hours have passed.

~ Body-bound item → Soul-bound item.

"Damn!" Cain screams out at the update of his item. He didn't expect that something like this would happen.... And most of all, he has now confirmed he is a part Divine being.

He already knew this but didn't want to accept it. But here he is now, his theory has been proven true by the system itself.

Cain sighed again. Annoyed that he can only confirm this now, if he could only summon the interface of the system, he would have already found this years ago.

BOOM!

Another explosion stopped him in his moment. But this time, Cain stood up from his position and stormed out to the explosion that had just happened. Ready and excited to see what the loot can be this time.

~ You have obtained the Cup of water.

~ Cup of water- it can store more than 10 liters of water. A cup with a golden body with three gems on it. ~ Each gem has its cts. Red- heat the water. Blue- make the water cold. Green- purify the water, making it drinkable.

"Jackpot! Now I just need to find a source of water... Again!"
