Livestream: Awakening as Kaitō Kid, Shocking the World

Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Kaitō Kid vs. the FBI!

Even though Frank and his team had taken turns on duty and resting, it was nearly impossible to get quality rest inside the car. His neck was already starting to ache.

"Director Harrison, what do you think we should do next?"

Frank stretched as he stepped out of the vehicle, surveying the area.

Right now, every person he brought was crouching around the perimeter of the estate.

Harrison replied in a steady tone, "Tonight is the time marked in the warning letter. Kaitō Kid will definitely show up."

"We must finalize our capture plan before dark and lay down a comprehensive security net throughout the estate."

Harrison and Frank entered the estate together, led in by Clover who came out to open the gate for them.

This scene infuriated Itō Itsuki, who could only glare from a distance.

He desperately wanted to understand the estate's internal layout, but the entire place was crawling with Frank's agents—he had no chance.

He certainly didn't want to repeat the embarrassment back on the island, getting mistaken for Kaitō Kid and arrested on the spot.

And this was Eagle Nation. Even civilians could carry guns, let alone FBI and private security.

If he accidentally got himself shot, that would be the end of it.

"Looks like I'll have to wait outside until Kaitō Kid shows up."

With a cold glint in his eyes, Itō Itsuki stared toward the estate, gaze sharp and unrelenting.

Inside, Harrison and Frank moved through the property, carefully mapping patrol routes and planning the placement of additional teams.

They wrapped up their preparations even before noon.

At that point, Clover came up courteously.

"Director Harrison, Captain Frank, thank you for your hard work!"

"Mr. Carlos would like to invite you to join him for lunch."

The two exchanged a glance, then followed Clover to the main dining hall of the villa.

The spread was lavish. Desserts, freshly grilled steaks, salads—all meticulously laid out.

Harrison couldn't help but mutter to himself.

"Oh shit, is every tycoon in Eagle Nation this generous?"

Carlos soon returned with a bottle of red wine, smiling warmly.

"Gentlemen, please sit. Tell me what you think of my cooking!"

Frank hadn't slept well in the car, and between running around all morning and the aroma of food, his stomach had been growling for ages.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Carlos."

As they sat, Clover poured the wine. This entire meal had been prepared personally by Carlos.

His beloved daughter was returning tonight.

He wanted to treat Frank and Harrison to lunch personally, hoping nothing would go wrong when Kaitō Kid showed up later.

Upon learning the reason, Frank instantly lost his appetite.

Neither he nor Harrison could give any absolute guarantee of safety.

"Mr. Carlos, is there any chance Miss Marina could delay her arrival by one day?"

Harrison asked cautiously.

"Kaitō Kid will definitely appear tonight. There's a high chance things could get unpredictable."

Carlos didn't mention that Marina was coming back specifically to see Kaitō Kid.

She was one of his biggest fans and had flown back from France just for the chance to see him in person.

"Director Harrison, my elite security detail will work with you during the operation."

"I want you to guarantee my daughter's safety."

His voice carried a weight of command.

Unlike typical wealthy collectors, Carlos was also a national councilman in Eagle Nation.

Frank stood at attention and responded immediately.

"Mr. Carlos, we'll do everything we can to ensure both you and your daughter remain safe."

Harrison glanced at Frank. He really dared to promise that?

Online, Marina's return had already stirred up plenty of attention.

She'd publicly announced her homecoming and even promised a full livestream of it.

[Oh my god! Marina is actually a fan of Kaitō Kid? She's Mr. Carlos's daughter!]

[Who cares whose daughter she is—as long as we get a livestream!]

[Oh shit! Are we sure Mr. Carlos won't be mad about this?]

[You never know… what if Carlos is a Kaitō Kid fan too?]

[So hyped for tonight's stream! What treasure will Kaitō Kid take from Carlos's estate?]

Plenty of people were already following Marina's livestream channel.

Around 5 PM, Marina finally arrived home. Frank assigned FBI agents to escort her from the airport to the estate.

By now, the sun had dipped below the horizon, and dusk was setting in. Harrison pulled Frank aside for a private word.

"Captain Frank, once it gets dark, Kaitō Kid could show up at any moment."

"So I hope you'll remind Mr. Carlos and his precious daughter not to get in our way. It's best if they don't wander around the estate."

Harrison and Frank were fully on guard, ready for Kaitō Kid's arrival.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yang had already left his hotel and was heading toward Carlos's estate.

People continued to gather outside the property, livestreaming the scene.

[Fuck! Where's Marina's livestream link?]

[Tonight's the main event! Wonder how Kaitō Kid will make his entrance.]

[Can the FBI handle this? Are they better than MI5's Harrison?]

[There are FBI everywhere out here. I'm starting to think Kaitō Kid might not even get close to the estate.]

Carlos's security setup was airtight. Outside, Frank's teams were patrolling. Inside, elite guards were stationed alongside Harrison's agents. Surveillance drones hovered overhead.

Neither Harrison nor Frank dared let their guard down. They were pulling out all the stops.

[No way. If Kaitō Kid pulls this off and escapes clean, I'll kneel in awe!]

[Oh my god! Even getting close to the estate gets you stopped and searched by the FBI?]

[With Harrison and Frank going this hard, does he even stand a chance?]

[Trust in Kaitō Kid, people. He's the definition of impossible turned real!]

By this time, Zhang Yang had arrived near the estate.

Before going in, he had to understand the layout. With everyone armed, charging in recklessly would be suicidal.

He put on Kaitō Kid's Monocle and released a scouting white dove.

The dove glided to the estate wall, paused briefly, then soared inward over the grounds.

"They really did bring in this many people? It's practically a net of heaven and earth."

Outside the estate, there were over a dozen FBI agents patrolling. Inside, over thirty in tactical gear, complete with rifles.

The first step to infiltrating the estate? Cause a distraction—split their focus.

Zhang Yang disguised himself as a bearded man and pulled a full tactical uniform from the Magical Wardrobe of Kaitō Kid—an exact replica of the FBI's.

If he could blend in with them, getting inside would be much easier.

He also prepped a flying dummy to draw their attention.

A few hundred meters from the estate, Zhang Yang pulled over, opened the trunk, and took out the ready-made flying dummy.

After setting its trajectory, he released it into the air.

The dummy was filled with hydrogen—basically a giant balloon.

But flying wasn't enough. Beneath the dummy's cloak, he'd strapped a drone to control its direction and speed.
