A strange silence fell over the balcony.

Then it came again.

A soft hum, distant yet resonant, drifting like a whisper on the icy wind. It was subtle, almost melodic, carrying with it a presence that neither Ethan nor Elsa could quite define.

Ethan blinked, tilting his head slightly. He heard it—but just barely. Like something lingering at the edge of perception.

But beside him, Elsa's expression had gone still. Her eyes widened, her breath hitched softly.

She was clearly hearing it far more intensely.

"…You hear that, right?" Ethan asked, glancing sideways at her.

Elsa nodded slowly, her voice low and almost mesmerized. "It's… calling to me."

The words sent a shiver down Ethan's spine, though not from the cold. There was something in the way she said it—a strange mix of fear, familiarity, and a deep, instinctive pull.

"Is it dangerous?" Ethan asked carefully.

"I don't think so," Elsa replied, clutching the railing. "It doesn't feel harmful. But it's… powerful."

Ethan exhaled through his nose. His body tensed slightly, out of habit. Whatever this force was, it wasn't random. And with the system still offline, he couldn't count on outside help. He had only his instincts—and his growing understanding of the world around him.

"We still need to be cautious," he said. "Even if it feels safe now, it could be leading you into something else."

Elsa nodded. "I know. But… I feel like I need to understand it. Like it's connected to me."

He didn't argue.

Instead, he stood beside her quietly, watching her pale hair stir gently in the breeze, and the determined line settle across her brow.

Whatever lay ahead, she was ready to face it.

Later that evening, inside the warm halls of the castle, the atmosphere had softened.

In the sitting room near the central hearth, Anna sat curled up on one of the plush sofas, a blanket draped around her shoulders, her auburn hair down and slightly damp from an earlier bath. Her cheeks still held a natural rosy hue from the cold, but her eyes were fixed on the fire.

Ethan walked in quietly, having just finished checking the perimeter with one of the guards. He paused when he saw her.

She turned when she heard him, and their eyes met.

An awkward moment passed between them.

Anna shifted a little under the blanket, biting her bottom lip. "Hey…"

"Hey," Ethan replied, scratching the back of his neck.

There was still that faint tension between them—the kind that lingered after something personal had happened, something meaningful.

The night of the coronation still echoed in their thoughts.

Anna had kissed him. Quick, sudden, and with all the emotion that had been building up since they'd met. She'd tried not to overthink it afterward. But her heart had refused to let her forget.

She hadn't regretted it. But she was embarrassed. Just a little.

"I, um…" she started, her voice softer than usual. "About that night—"

"You don't need to explain anything," Ethan interrupted gently, stepping closer. "It wasn't… unwelcome."

Anna blinked, surprised. "Really?"

He chuckled lightly. "Really."

A smile slowly crept onto her face, and a small giggle escaped her lips. "I thought maybe I'd messed everything up."

"Not at all," Ethan said with sincerity. "You just caught me off guard."

Anna glanced down for a moment, fingers fiddling with the blanket. Then she looked back up at him, her voice steadier now.

"I meant it, you know. The kiss. It wasn't just some fairytale moment thing. You've… done a lot for us. For me."

Ethan didn't say anything at first, but he sat down on the sofa beside her. His eyes remained on the fire.

"I don't think I ever imagined being in a world like this," he said after a moment. "And yet, here I am… with people I've grown to care about."

Anna looked at him warmly. "You're not just a guest here anymore."

"No," Ethan agreed. "I guess I'm not."

There was a soft silence again—this time, warm. Companionable.

Then Anna leaned gently against his shoulder.

And he let her.

Meanwhile, in a smaller room just off the main hallway, Elsa stood alone before the mirror.

She'd been unable to stop thinking about that voice. That call. Why now?Why after all this time of fear, silence, and hiding?

It wasn't like before, when her powers surged beyond her control from panic or grief.

This was something ancient.

Something that was part of her.

But what worried her more was how easily she'd wanted to follow it. And how she hadn't hesitated. Is it dangerous to want that?To finally know who I really am?

She placed a hand on her chest, closing her eyes.

Then she heard faint laughter down the hall—Anna's laugh. Then Ethan's voice.

Elsa smiled to herself.

Despite the confusion, despite the uncertainty… they were still here. Together. Healing. Laughing.

She walked to the window and looked out toward the mountains, where the stars began to pierce the dark blue sky.If I follow this voice… will I lose them again?Or will I finally understand the truth?

In the great dining hall, Olaf had managed to stack twelve bread rolls into a tower before the last one wobbled and fell off. He gasped dramatically, as if he'd just witnessed a national disaster.

"Bread towers are unstable," he declared. "Like emotions."

Kai chuckled as he passed by. "Indeed they are, Olaf."

Despite the strange energy in the air, the castle had regained a semblance of life. Warmth glowed in every fireplace. Laughter returned to its halls. Even the guards seemed less tense.

But far in the north, past the mountains and beyond the fjords, the wind howled over ancient, hidden ice.

The hum had grown faint again, but not silent.

It was waiting.

Calling.
